The Strange Boxed Set is Taking Off!

The Strange Box, a deluxe box set of The Strange RPG by Monte Cook Games is taking off.

The Strange is a Cypher System-based game that uses the same core rules essentially as Numenera and Gods of the Fall.

As a GM, I appreciate it's easy to prep for and allows for a lot of variety to match player interest: fantasy one session, post appocalyptic the next, intrigue/spy the next, space opera after that, etc.

It is set in modern earth, and allows for travel to multiple alternate realities, a secret war to defend earth from outsiders seeking its destruction, and exploration.

If you're still on the fence about checking out the Strange Box kickstarter, nows the time. They've gone through 20 stretch goals and there is less than six hours left. I think if it as the X files meets Stargate meets Amber. It is easy to change the dials to have a grittier or less gritty feel, and to have the exploration of recursions be one-time events, or to center campaign arcs around one or a grouping. Lots of flexibility. Time to see if you're ready to be Strange...
