Well, that was one battle plan which didn't survive first contact with the enemy. Hopefully the Unsullied forces were sailing separately by that point.

Or an attempt to tie off some more storylines once you realize you have to many characters and threads for the number of episodes you have left.

Really for an experienced sea captain with aspirations to the salt throne, Asha let herself being caught like a bloody beginner. No, if that's how you do as a fleet commander you are not fit to rule the iron islands

She got caught up to at night, in open waters, with her opponent having only guesses to go on as to her course. That's more a credit to Euron than a slight to Asha's skills.

That sea battle was the first time that I got up to go to the bathroom and didn't bother pausing the episode.

This is really bad writing -- introducimg a new villain that we didn't even hear about for the first five seasons just so Cersei has a credible ally in the last two seasons? An introduction with no audience investment, what a waste of time.

Euron's ships must have kickass GPS's to be able to coordinate a night time attack with that kind of accuracy. Even modern ships and aircraft would have a difficult time in weather like that.

Had to laugh though when Cersei drew a parallel between Dany and her father while conveniently forgetting that recently she blew up half the city and killed off a bunch of nobles. The other houses would be nuts to ally with her.

Actually he was mentioned in Season I by Tyrion, how Euron has destoyed the Lannister fleet at Lannisport during the Iron Islands Rebellion, before anyone had a chance to react. He is the most cunning captain in Westeros. He has a penchant for surprise attacks.

Agreed. He probably rolled a 20 on his stealth and was under a bless effect by a Drowned God Priest

We are nitpicking Euron and Cersei allies? No worse than an army of ghost to rescue an army or a bunch or smugglers defeating a giant space station. this is done all the time.

How did nays find each other back then? Is it possible that Cersei knew of their plan as it seems somewhat obvious? Were there never night battles in the Civil war or in the greek islands etc.

Was a great sea battle and in some ways done better than Black sails which was all about pirates and sea battles (there was a blacksails crossover in this episode)

I too hoped for direwolfs vs walkers but it looks like its not in the cards (for tv but maybe in books)

This by far is one of the best shows on tv and is better than most movies
