"I shall try," Miss Imogen answers Rodrigo as she steps out of the corridor and into the lit room.

From the far end she lines up the halfling on the chest into her sights and quickly lets off two quick arrows.

OOC: Move to N5.
Action: Attack J17 with bow (sharpshooter): to hit [roll0], damage = [roll1].
Bonus (action surge): Also attack J17 with bow (sharpshooter)* [*unless it's proved an illusion, or something else that's fishy]: to hit [roll2], damage = [roll3].

Level 2: AC 14, Init +3, HP 18.

Crit (thanks, Fredak). Adjusted damage on initial attack is [roll0].

Edit: why I don't like 5e's crit rules in one post.

Legend
Location: The Feeding Pit Encounter: Viplo & Zombies

Rodrigo ran down the old bamboo ramp, which cracked under his feet. He leaped free and rolled across the dirt floor, coming up just as one of the zombies was reaching its long curved nails to scratch him. He ducked to the side and then to the other as another zombie tried to get him. Then Chrysagon was beside him, swinging his glowing flail and saying encouraging things.

Harb disappeared from view around a corner, presumably looking for a way to the back platform. Dellrak leaped to follow Chrysagon, landing on the bottom edge of the ramp with a crunch He flung an axe, which buried itself in the side of one of the zombies. Yet another zombie rushed across the dirt floor and jumped on Chrysagon's back. It tried to bite and scratch at him, but the paladin spun around, throwing it off of him.

The last of the four zombies was not distracted by the battle. It rushed straight for a bound prisoner and it tore at him, killing the beaten man instantly and devouring chunks of his flesh. The other prisoners squirmed in their bonds and shouted for mercy.

Miss Imogen fired two arrows at the halfling, who was now screaming, "You shant stop me! You will only add more death to my spell! Ugh!" (That last being when the first arrow struck him in the shoulder.) He fell back off of his make-shift stage and he managed to duck the second arrow as he waved a twisted little wand. Three sparkling balls of energy burst into life and they sped over the dirt pit, striking Miss Imogen in spite of her attempts to hide behind the stone wall under the ziggurat.

Realising that she was still alive, the halfling ran for some cover from her bow-fire and he came face-to-face with Harb.

Harb smiled like a snake as he stepped around the corner, looming over the halfling. "Your magic is a perversion of the natural order of death. Prepare to meet your dark god."

With that he brought his quarterstaff down upon the halflings head.

OOC: Two options for next action. If the Halfling goes down use a Ki point to dash down to block the zombie from killing the second victim. If he stays up, use a ki point for 2 extra unarmed strikes.

OOC: Will move to M13 and try and slam shut the gate.
[roll0] a roll should you need one.

See his opportunity the dwarf moves quickly to the the front of the gate and looks for a wawy to seal the zombie away once more. "Anyone got a good padlock?" he asks to break the tension of the serious situation.

EDIT: well if Dellrak survives this encounter he is due for some better rolls in the future. That is to say again if he has one. LOL

The magic missiles pummel Miss Imogen in her side, knocking the wind out of her and throwing off her second shot. As the spellcaster attempts to duck out of sight, Miss Imogen shifts her position and fires again.

OOC: Move to L7.
Attack N18 with bow (sharpshooter). Ignore cover. Attack: [roll0], damage = [roll1].

Level 2: AC 14, Init +3, HP 18-9=9.

OOC: I don't want to slow down the game so I'm going to have an either or "double post"

A: (Harb doesn't engage the lone zombie and Miss Imogen is still firing upon the mage)

Rodrigo looked on helpless - Brother Chrysagon had a good idea, but the hostages... he had to distract the last zombie! Staying on the defensive as he knew the other zombies might try to maul him, he spun around, cloak flying, and moved in to intercept the one trying to kill the remaining hostages, hoping he would be able to distract it with his defensive slashes

Action: Dodge
Move: To J15, or even J16 if it's possible to stand over a hostage

B: (Harb *does* engage the lone zombie and Miss Imogen fires upon it)

Rodrigo yelled out "Ha!" as the tiny mage fell - justice! Seeing how Harb had engaged the lone zombie and - hopefully - distracted the monster from its murderous spree, said loudly "let's try it your way - if not we'll cut them down!"

Action: Shove Shoving a zombie in a cage: 1D20+3 = [14]+3 = 17

Rodrigo was not as burly as Brother Chrysagon, but he was wiry, and understood balance. He stabbed the zombie in the foot and then shoulder-checked it backwards.
