It would be interesting to know if the trend is fairly consistent across CR's or if higher CR's favored 1 type of save and lower CR's favored others.

:confused:What useful conclusions can we make using these numbers?

Basically that intelligence and charisma saves are very rare. That doesn't mean that they are bad as they may protect you against some very potent stuff. It doesn't mean they will be very rare in every game either. However, it does mean that if I'm going into a campaign without any other info then I'm not going to prioritize intelligence or charisma ones ever.

I think the save system in 5e is an improvement over both 3e and 4e.

However, if the strengths of the system aren't used due to still designing monsters (and challenges) with a mentality which revolves around how the previous two editions worked saves, that improvement doesn't really show.

Side note: I like the idea of using skills with a different ability sometimes.

It's almost like the save system in 5e was horribly designed.

Only if you think "everything equal" is the same as "good design". Which I don't. An "all equal" balance system worked well for things like D20 Modern, but I think the saves were designed very well for this type of game.
