Hello and welcome to the latest PAIZO NEWS ROUNDUP, a great way to keep up-to-date on the moving and shaking at your favorite game company. This edition features Starfinder, Starfinder, and more Starfinder, but there is room enough for some Pathfinder for those of us who like swords and sorcery over spaceships. Let’s get started!

We’re actually going to open this Roundup with a batch of Pathfinder news. John Compton gives us a brief rundown of the upcoming stories and changes for season 9 of the Pathfinder Society! Familiar NPCs are coming back to make the exploits of your characters bigger and better than ever. Curious sages are digging archaeological sites and unearthing all sorts of trouble for you to sort out. A museum with a checkered past causes a calamity in the Pathfinder Society headquarters, and it needs some hardy adventurers to put a stop to the madness!

Keeping on course with Pathfinder, Adam Daigle offers a quick overview of Pathfinder Adventure Path #112: Into the Shattered Continent. Heroes in this adventure can expect numerous challenges to their newly-found island home, as well as some magic items to help them in their tasks. DMs can also look forward to information on the region of Ancorato and the shattered land of Azlant.

Speaking of updates to the Pathfinder Society, the updates to the Lore Warden fighter archetype found in the Adventurer’s Guide are becoming the sole Pathfinder Society version of that archetype. Characters with levels in that archetype have until October 18 to make the adjustments or changes needed to keep themselves in order. The Enlightend Bloodrager and Qadiran Horselord archetypes are facing similar treatment, so get your sheets updated before it becomes an issue!

Now, on to Starfinder! While we are still talking organized play, there are some clarifications for battery usage in the Starfinder Society Roleplaying Guild. Batteries are recharged in between scenarios, and be recharged on starships at no cost. They don’t want you to feel like your swanky new pulsecaster rifle is a dud of a purchase! It should also make batteries and their charges less of a hassle to track. IT’S TIME FOR SOME SERIOUS PEW PEW Y’ALL!

Finally, some toys for all you Starfinder GMs out there! Robert McCreary kicks off a series of previews for the upcoming Starfinder Alien Archive! Not only will it be stuffed to the gills with all sorts of alien creatures hungry for characters, but it lays out the simplified system for making NPCs and monsters of your own. Monsters start as an array that define their primary role, then can be modified with grafts and other special abilities to make them seem truly alien. These arrays and grafts should cover the vast majority of the statistics needed to quickly make a Starfinder monster or opponent.

And that’s it for this edition of the PAIZO NEWS ROUNDUP! Stay tuned for more updates on Starfinder and Pathfinder and anything else we can find from the fine folks at Paizo!
