I want to build a good effective greatsword wielding, heavily armored warrior in the Eberron setting. My starting point was Guts, from the Berserk manga/anime, but I don't want to mimic Guts, just take some inspiration from his character.
Right now, this is what I have.
Variant human, samurai 6 - gloom stalker 3
Starting stats
Str - 16
Dex - 13
Con - 14
Int - 8
Wis - 14
Cha - 9
Start with the GWM feat at level one, advance to fighter level 6 en use the ASIs to increase strength to 20. Then MC into ranger to eventually reach gloom stalker.
The idea behind the build is to use fighting spirit from the samurai subclass, combined with action surge in the first round of combat.
Do people with more experience here think this is a good enough build, or is it just a one trick pony and not very effective at all?
Any tips on how to tweak this idea any further? Many thanks!
