SRD Competition Submission Thread

OK, we're down to the last week of this, so I though I'd post a new thread asking for submissions. If you're submitting your SRD, either post here and link to the files, or email them to me directly at srd@dimwhit.com. I have already received a few submissions directly to my email, so those people don't need to repost them here.

Any questions? I do want to keep this thread relatively short so I don't have to sort through 200 replies to find the entries, but feel free to ask any questions you have. Or go check out the original SRD Competition Thread for rules and such at:

http://enworld.cyberstreet.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=58031

I have a good number of judges (around 10 or 12, I think) so I don't need any more. Though if you are interested, I don't mind a couple more.

One last thing: if you'll only have part of the SRD done by the deadline, submit it anyway. You just never know...

We're extending the deadline one day to Midnight PST September 1. Unless there is strong objection...

Hello :D

When you attach a file to a post it is uploaded to the server right? As in, if someone downloads it, it isn't taken from your computer every time, right?

If this is so, I would like to encourage people to post their entries on this thread even if they also mail them to Dimwhit, so everyone can have a look at their work, and dowload it before the thread closes if they like it.

Cheers

(p.s. where is this thread on the new url?)

Sage. You are correct. However, most message boards limit the size of the attachment you can upload with a post, and most of the SRD will fairly large.

But don't worry. When the competition is over, we're going to try to get all the versions posted somewhere so they can all be downloaded.

Here are the links (again) to my SRD submission, the "handouts":

1 - Classes: http://www.theothergamecompany.com/download/handout1-classes.pdf
2 - Skills: http://www.theothergamecompany.com/download/handout2-skills.pdf
3 - Feats: http://www.theothergamecompany.com/download/handout3-feats.pdf
4 - Races: http://www.theothergamecompany.com/download/handout4-races.pdf
5 - Equipment: http://www.theothergamecompany.com/download/handout5-equip.pdf
6 - Prestige Classes: http://www.theothergamecompany.com/download/handout6-prestige.pdf
7 - Combat: http://www.theothergamecompany.com/download/handout7-combat.pdf
8 - Spell Lists: http://www.theothergamecompany.com/download/handout8-spelllists.pdf

At least one more handout (the spells - sort of a companion piece to the Complete Spell Cards ) is coming later... but not until September 15th, I'm afraid (because I will be on holiday...).

(Edit: the first link was broken, and is now fixed. Thanks to Sage for pointing that out.)

Man... I'll never get done in time

You know, speaking of which, i was just looking at the calendar and i have a suggestion:

I know this is *really* late to be suggesting this, but what about moving the deadline back a day, to Sept 1? Since most of the participants seem to be in the US, and that's a holiday, it'd give everyone a full extra day (i.e., no work for most) to finish up. I know i, for one, probably won't make midnight sunday, but probably could make midnight monday. And in my case it'd make the difference between unusable and complete, rather than incomplete and complete--can't do things like the ToC/linking until *everything* else is done.

That's a good idea, Woodelf. With the vacation in the US, it could help some people. Hopefully it won't upset those who are already done. But let's go ahead an extend it by a day. Those who want to spend Labor Day touching it up can do so.

Actually, no. Please don't do this if you can possibly avoid it.

Uploading files like this is a dandy way to drain away our bandwidth, which is already extremely tight. Please store your SRDs on another web site and just link them here if at all possible.

Thanks!

Hmm, piratecat told us not to post our entry here, so we won't.

But you can go to http://geocities.com/sovelior/srd/home.html

and check it out (It may not have everything we're sending in though).

Some of you might remember Sovelior stating that he wouldn't have time to finish it, so I helped him :)
and now it's alomst done.
