[Chapter 5, Thread 3, Radical Eschatologists, Subrail Assault]

Since they witnessed the initial terrorist attacks in Pardwright District, The B-Team has been leading the investigation to find and stop the dwarven radicals. They thought the ribbon-cutting ceremony seemed like a ripe opportunity and so have gone to the Sharon M. Baker subrail station to investigate. . .about 1 or 2 hours before the hostage situation occurs.

The security teams have already completed their sweep the tunnels and are stationed above ground at the wicket gates. Meanwhile, the dwarves have already entered the area below the station, set up some of their traps, and are in the process of getting the bomb in place.

The constables will be facing these enemies before they've had a chance to get everything in place. . .what changes to the encounter as written would folks suggest? Also, it's listed as a Level 12 encounter and the B-Team are only Level 7. . .

Thanks in advance,
-Shimrath.

Well, if B-Team gets mostly defeated, that's just some more interesting hostages for the main group. It's possible they all die at Kell's hand anyway.

I'd say, as far as changes, the bomb isn't set up. Maybe they're moving it into place, and at least 2 of the eschatologists aren't able to join the fight because they're wary of leaving the bomb in a vulnerable state. I'd include the leader, who is assembling the bomb. That could lead to an intense stand-off where if the PCs can get to the dwarves, they threaten to activate the bomb immediately and destroy the whole place if B-Team doesn't stand down. This is a bluff, because the bomb, once activated, takes time to mix before it explodes.
