I went looking through the OLD book and WRRD but I couldn't find anything specific for armor for large characters.

1. Does armor follow the same rules for oversized weapons (2x the weight, 3x the cost)?
2. How does that work with shields? Would a large shield only provide +2 DEF? If you have to oversize them, does it work the same way?
3. Also with shields, why are they so much more expensive than armor? A medium wood shield, which provides +2 DEF, costs almost as much as Scale and more than Brigandine. Is DEF valued that much more than the 5 or 6 SOAK? A metal Aspis costs the same as Platemail.

As written, no. You could certainly apply that as a houserule, though; bear in mind you'd be penalising larger starting characters - they can use a smaller weapon, but they can't wear smaller armour.
