An Alternate Take on the Monk

For my For Gold & Glory (AD&D 2E) campaign, I decided that I wanted a "monk" character class. I'm not totally sure about even using the monk name for the class, but I figured it was usable as a working title, if nothing else. The objective of this class is to be a very focused martial specialist that was capable of reproducing something along the lines of the previous edition monks, and the later edition monks, while at the same time providing flexibility for the player to take it in different directions based upon their character's backstory. In my mind the character class has a spiritual relationship with their particular martial focus.

I'm using FG&G, because not everyone has a small mountain of 2E books squirreled away to use as reference, so everything below is in reference to FG&G. (A big shout out to Justen Brown for putting FG&G together.)

Admittedly, I haven't played 2E since the end of the 90's, so I'm re-familiarizing myself the rules as I'm going. Consequently, I wanted to share this and get some feedback before I shared it with my gaming group. Thanks.
