the title says. There is some nutty stuff in XGtE from the coffee lock abuse to the hexblade splash for Paladins/Sorcerers/Bards, some of the spells, and the Divine Soul Sorcerer which is now probably the best buffer in the game. If you don't know what i am talking about with the coffee lock Sorcerer a warforged Sorlock or Sorlock with the Xanathars warlock invocation Aspect of the Moon. Instead of long resting you take 7 or 8 short rests and convert warlock spells to sorcerer points and convert those points to daily spell slots while of course using the tried and tested Eldritch Blast+ agonizing blast combo.
There also the Healing Spirit spell that is better than the level 3 Paladin equivalent (level 3 vs 9), and has the same abuse potential as the level 1 life cleric dip.
Not sure but they could have titles the book "Xanathars Guide to Munchkinism" or Xanathars Multiclass Enabler" or "Xanathars Build a Charisma Based Party Only Everything Else is Obsolete)". 3.5 had some crazy stuff but it was spread out over multiple books this is all in one place.
Not sure but it my be the most crazy book released since the 1E UA which was notorious for things like Ranger weapon specialisation, Drow and Deep gnomes and new amror all of which were more powerful than the PHB stuff.
I like the book but the more I read it, read about it and spot some things its got some crazy stuff. My fun build would be if I rolled some good stats a Mountain Dwarf beat down dive soul sorcerer with spells like Green Blame blade mixing it up with spirit guardians. Not overly broken perhaps but arcane spells+ cherry picked divine spells+ metamagic on a class proficient in con saves could be fun.
Poor old Rats my halfling champion dual wielder.
