OK hands up, who likes hex maps?

just started a web page for my experiments with hex maps.

take a look here!

some of the maps are rather large (in physical dimensions, not file size), so i'll leave them on the site instead of cluttering up this thread.

however, if anyone's got comments, criticisms, suggestions, or what-have-you, please feel free to leave them here!

good stuff.

have you thought about using hexmapper? being able to create your own tilesets can be pretty cool if your making a lotta maps

i've played around with hexmapper and similar programs, but i've always gone back to my original method: a simple paint program with a fill tool. :)

they do lack the attractiveness of what you can get with hexmapper and company, but the files stay quite small and they remain a lot easier to work with.

the main problems i've had with those types of programs is that they usually have a limit on how big the map can be (and i invariably want to make maps bigger than that... ;)) and they don't have an option for changing the orientation of the grid.
