AoO for spells with 1 round + casting time

Ok, here's the situation:

A) PC is casting a summon spell (non-defensive), which has a 1 round casting time.
NPC moves next to PC on his turn, after the casting has begun.

Does NPC receive an AoO against PC now?

(In other words, does the casting provoke AoO throughout, or only at the beginning?)

Second situation (only if above is answered with a yes!):

B) PC, standing next to NPC, is casting a summon spell (non-defensive).
NPC receives an AoO against PC, obviously.
NPC whacks PC on his turn.

Does NPC receive another AoO against PC for the same spell now?

(In other words, can you receive two AoO for one AoO-provoking action?)

Anything official would be great, but opinions are welcome, too! :D

A) nope...

You only provoke attacks of opportunity when you begin casting a spell, even though you might continue casting for at least one full round.
and..

No to multiple AoOs from the same person, as you can only attack once per stupid thing your target does.

By either the sage or FAQ: you draw the AoO only when you start the action.

For my own games i ruled that you draw the AoO when you start the action and then at the start of each your actions [including right before you complete the spell]that you do not chose to let the spell fizzle. This represents the option to lose the spell to put up your guard again rather than continuing or completing the spell. This allows those who dedicate themselves taking advantage of the caster's spell to get an AoO, but not those who just hustle by and go elsewhere

The rules say a character cannot "make more than one attack for a given opportunity," (p137 PHB) but if the provoking action takes more than one round to complete, it should count as a seperate provoking action.

On another board, I also got this snippet from the 3.0 FAQ:

If a spellcaster is casting a full-round or longer spell, does she provoke an attack of opportunity only when she begins casting or does anyone who gets near her get an attack of opportunity? What happens when a new round starts?
Taking the cast a spell action while threatened provokes an attack of opportunity. The character takes that action at the start of the spell’s casting time, during her turn in the initiative order. Foes who did not threaten the caster when she took the action don’t get attacks of opportunity, even if they subsequently threaten the character. Note, however, that any damage the caster takes during the casting time requires a Concentration check, so that foes who move up and attack can still disrupt the spell.

So, looks like our PC can proceed casting unhindered then. :D
