[Adventure]: The Bane of the Black Dragon (DM: Dimsdale, Judge ??)

Edit: Let's leave the hobgoblin where it was. I started to have a headache trying to decide if pushing with the combat challenge beyond Drew's reach would invalidate drunken monkey, as technically Prime would hit before Drew.

No, you wouldn't. Drunken Monkey hit caused it's self attack, and you're interrupting that, before he hits itself, but not before Drew hit it.

You could send it away from the cave and toward the party so they remain as hidden as possible and to make the chance of escape minor indeed.

OOC: Sure, but the self attack is part of Drew's Drunken Monkey. Attacks are not divided in segments; it all happens at the same time (though the particular wording of Drunken monkey may indicate otherwise)

In the end it makes little difference. Let's leave the hobgoblin where it is, there's a good chance he'll die before it's turn comes again.

My reasoning:
Targets gets free action attack on hit (ergo, AFTER it is already hit), then you interrupt that free action (which is no longer part of Drew's attack, because it already happened)...

Also common sense (which is admittably non-mandatory in RPGs) argues against you having an interrupt of Drew's attack before he even lands it because if he doesn't there is no combat challenge for you :)

I don't mind leaving it.
