Sorry, forgot to take into account that everyone leveled up.

I had riardon at 25hp when the last round ended. 2 surges (given his new level 8 max) would put him at 53. Where did I go wrong?

two 6th level HS (13 x 2 = 26) would bring him to max -3
two 8th level HS (14 x 2 =28)) would bring him to max -1

so he should be either at 56 or 58 HP, right?

Interesting. I simply added the leve 8 surge value X 2 (28) to your existing total. Now I know why the DMG recommends leveling after extended rests

BTW: I've allocated findings based on the furniture items on the map. Be sure to pick a square that has something in it. Also, I will need a single square for each PC per round.
