Software, Computers, Video Games and D&D UtilitiesGeneral discussion on computer software and hardware, PC and console games, and RPG utilities such as eTools, PC GEN, etc.
I just finished Gothic 1 in the beginning of this month and now I am playing Gothic 2 with expansion. Yes, the controlls are clunky and take some getting used to but the story line is one of the most immersive I have ever played.
Plus, both games are long. Both of these RPGs are excellent with a great story line.
Hah! I managed to bug you enough about it . I decided to finally do all the things I missed out earlier. This includes for example getting all characters to their final limit break and kill the darned Emerald and Ruby Weapons...

I still don't like situations where PCs have to die. My Aeris had her level 4 limit break fully charged when Sephiroth struck her down; I think she could have taken him .
PC: I may sound like a broken record but for me it is still Dawn of War: Soul Storm and it will probably stay that way until Dawn of War 2 or Starcraft 2 are released.
Wii: Guitar Hero 3
DS: Final Fantasy 3

Got Deus Ex from Steam, $10. I had never played it
Not bad, other than the dated graphics.

GTA IV for the 360 - very fun. Despite character being some sort of sociopath, maniacs, vagabond, or ne'er-do-well, I find them all very humorous and endearing. Oh yeah, and Liberty City is an incredible environment, one of the best I've ever seen.
Final Fantasty Tactics 2: Grimoire of the Rift for the DS - I have some minor quibbles, but it scratches that FFT itch oh so good.
I play a lot of nothing, interspersed with the occasional jaunt into Oblivion. But mostly nothing. I want Fallout 3!
Out of curiousity, do you have the issue where:
a) the program never exits correctly (always errors back to Windows)
b) half the time, the saves don't load properly.
I assuming its one (or more) of the mods causing this, but man...so frustrating...

Well, I've had that issue, yep. And yes, it's the mods (I'm pretty sure.) I've used a *lot* of mods - some of which I wouldn't play it again without - and that seemed to create that problem.
I just decided to save twice every time, rather than once. Didn't have any issues when doing that. Oh, and saving often. But then, that's generally a good idea.

Yeah, I have ended up doing the exact same, a quicksave and a normal save each time. And the funny part is that it is so inconsitent. Sometimes the quicksave won't load. Sometimes the normal save wont load. Sometimes neither of them will load and I can only get the game operational by exiting and restarting via "Continue". Its just funky. Worth it though.
Ok...so what are your "Required" Mods?
So far for me
1. Oscuro's
2. AF Levelling Mod
I have a bunch of other's that make the game easier to play, or prettier...but those are the one that I couldn't play without. What about you?
Well, Too Human was released today, and the floodgates of negative reviews weren't held closed for even a day. Silicon Knights must not have been buying enough ad time at some folks' websites.
Oddly enough, it's being criticized for the very type of gameplay that makes its inspiration, Diablo, so popular.

Ars Technica gave it a fairly good review. They essentially said "ignore the negativity, it's a decent game".

I've had the first problem (it has never closed gracefully for me), but I've never had a problem with a save game not loading. But I've never done a quick save. I use one of the big mod packages rather than a lot of little mods.
