Is anyone else having trouble getting into Wikipedia? I've been trying and trying and trying since noon to get on! It should have been fixed by now! If anybody knows what's going on, it would be appreciated.

Second, have you installed any security products like Norton? If so, the program may have fowled up your security settings. Did you try another browser?
Last option contact the ISP. Otherwise, give us more details, what OS, ISP, and browser.
If Windows, do this for me: Click on Start, click on Run. In run, type in cmd. In the black command prompt type in nslookup wikipedia.org. Hit enter.
What does the (IP) address say, should be #.#.#.#?

I don't blame them. Wikipedia has a tendancy to distract me with its links. The other night, I wasted 3 or 4 hours following links that started with the featured article. It wasn't until after I logged off and was preparing to sleep that I realized I didn't even look up the page I went there to read in the first place.

So, have you already been introduced to tvtropes? If you can waste 3 or 4 hours there, you can probably waste 6 or 8 hours on tvtropes (though maybe at least you might have read it all by then )

I think it's more paranoia about the "anyone can edit" thing. I am sure the words "child porn" and "date rape drug" cross their mind. But that's beside the point...
As for for time-wasters, I am a big StumbleUpon fan. I have wasted hours with that tool.

That site is also temporicidal. It would take more than 6 or 8 hours to read the whole thing because I've spent at least twice that there and I know I haven' read everything.

Heh, I've actually sent Wikipedia links to e-mail groups at work, like explaining what Amsler grids are.
I also kind of like going there about 15 minutes before the end of the day if I have nothing else to do, and just randomly linking around. Quite fun.
