Ebook organizer?

I've got numerous PDFs downloaded from different sites, and it seems like each one wants to store it some place differently. I'm starting to lose track of the stuff I've bought, and it's hard to search for file titles like "AdvX-3.5.pdf"

I'm looking for something along the lines of what a media organizer does for music. I'd like to scan my drive and then have a central place to view and organize things.

Does anyone know of a program like this? Hopefully free>

I saw some info on using iTunes as a document organizer a while back. You'll have to search for info it, but it didn't seem terribly hard at the time.

Sony has free ebook reader software that includes some library functionality. Looks promising.
