Hello, everyone. I'm Tric. FYI, english is not my first language, though most people don't notice that. Though I registered here a long time ago, I've never really used the forums. Til now.

I'm looking for an adventure. I've been RP'ing on another forum since late 2002, and I'm fairly knowledgable concerning D&D. The only campaign setting I'm familiar with is the Forgotten Realms, though I am willing to try Eberron, or a homebrew for that matter. What I basically want is anything except the classic good-kills-evil-dungeon crawl adventure. I'd be interested in anything slightly unorthodox.

I have a character on the drawing board. Thaeon Elmadene. It's a LN (with leanings toward LE) Aasimar, Battle Sorcerer. He's an orphan who grew up in a major metropolis (name of the city is up to the DM I suppose), among all the beggar children and thieves. He had a different upbringing, as he lived in a strange underground room (similar to those old ww2 bunkers) which had many tomes within it. By reading these tomes he learned many things of war, tactics and most importantly, the art of leadership. He quickly rose to prominence among the thieves, uniting the petty scoundrels. He hated to see different thieves kill each other. Instead, he wanted to use their strength, combine it with his own, and thus be able to gain much greater power, fame, and wealth. He didn't want to horde the rewards, either; he wanted to split it fairly with his allies. He staged one big heist, but then a rival gang moved in and obliterated his dream. He was saved by a shadowy figure, and escaped with only a tiny piece of his life left.

There's more to it (why the tomes were there, who the shadowy figure is, and etc), but I'd like to work that out with any DM who'd be interested.

This character could probably work with most any kind of party, since despite his evil leanings he's very much against the self-destructive part of evil (CE). He's pretty ambiguous and even though he's Lawful there's nothing keeping him breaking a couple laws if the need arises. He's very careful however.

Regardless, this isn't a thread to say, "Here's my character, get me in a game!"

This is a thread to say either, "There isn't a game for me" (if you're a player) or "Here's a game for people to join" (if you're a GM)

GMs don't typically look through these posts to look for players, rather, the first post of the thread is meant to comprise all the relevant information.

The point of posting here is to tell me what you need/are offering. If there's already something that suits your needs, then I'm not going to put you in the first post of the thread.

Exactly what Voda Vosa said.

That is, of course, after you have a recruiting thread (I'm not sure whether or not you do). Things to keep in mind when recruiting players: make sure your recruiting thread includes what level you intend on starting at, point buy amount (if used, alternately, what online dice roller to use for rolling stats), what books you're using/allowing, starting gold, and house rules (including restricted classes and races). If you plan on using a premade setting, you shoudl also mention. You typically also want to write a blurb so the players know what kind of game to expect (so they make appropriate characters).

Once you do that, you can advertise here if you like, and all the information I need to know is the name of the game, the url of the recruiting thread, and a few tidbits of information (level or number of players or setting and when you're planning on ending recruitment, if you know).
