Seeking Solo Eberron Game

I've been reading up on Eberron (CS & EG) and I'm liking it pretty well so far. Have never played or GMed a game of it, so I'd like to give it a test drive.

Anyone up for GMing a game of one player in Eberron?

Reveille, if no one lese can come through for you, I'll pick up the DM slot.

Keep in mind though, that I myself have only been a player in an Eberron game. If no one else offers, I'll get some info up in two weeks.

Very kind of you Cat Moon. If no one picks up the slack I'd be more than happy to be your player.

Now that I've given it some thought I'd like to try some CoC style horror/mystery. Eberron, being analogy of post-WWI europe would be perfect fantasy-setting for it. What you think?

Master Inquisitive? I seem to recall that PrC somewhere in the books. Seems Hellboy-esque, though several decades earlier. A changeling would be a shoe in for the racial archetype. Sounds good.

I believe it's in the campaign setting book . Not completely sure but it would be the best place to start looking. And it would be perfect prc for CoC type game.

So I've been mulling over my options:

1. Druid/Master of Many Forms
2. Shadowcaster/Master Inquisitive
3. Expert/Master Inquisitive
4. Straight Ninja

I'm honestly in a quandry of which one to pick.

Do you mean UA expert: http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/cl...ses.htm#expert ? I think that would be pretty perfect choice. I forgot to check the book last evening so could you remind me of the M-I requirements?

I've got it bookmarked for quick reference. Gather Info 6 ranks, Search 3 ranks, Sense Motive 3 ranks, Investigate feat.

The UA Expert would be fine. How do you feel about allowing my character access to the Talented & Unlocked Potential skill feats from Stargate rpg book?

If I go this route (Exp/MI) I was thinking a human would be the best racial option.

How much travel do you think there'll be? If there won't be much I'm going to go with the Sivis Dragonmark, otherwise Tharashk.

-----

With the D/MoMF I was thinking going the shapeshifting spy route. What do you think of this?

I don't really like the unlocked potential feat but open minded is ok. I haven't yet given thought about travel. How would you like? Stay in relatively small area or explore the world?

Exploration is right up my alley.

I messed up on the feats. Open Minded I think is from Complete Adventurer. Talented is the other feat from Stargate.

What level would I start at?

Exploration it is then. Talented is also okay, pretty strong on D&D skill-feats, but still feasible.

Given that I like eberron pretty low-level, and normally you could get to M-I at level 4, so I think 4 is good. 5 if you really really want to start higher than 4 .

Oh, and I think you misread something as Orien is definetly human house. Sivis on the other hand isn't

Level 4 is fine.

Also considering Educatiion as one of my 1st level feats. Would that be okay?

Sure. And since this will be CoC inspired I'm going to use Sanity rules. Also you may add to knowledge skills a Knowledge: Forbidden Lore, which is a triple-bladed sword (as Kosh would put it ). It is used to decipher texts that are "wrong" and can give you insight on stuff, but it also taxes on your sanity

Are you going to allow Sanity Resistance?

Yeah, but I'll also determine a bit differently what constitutes as a shock and what doesn't since eberron is afterall a fantasy-world. But your San.Res. is nonetheless equal to your level.

All righty. Is shock like horror or fear? Courage feat grants +4 bonus on all fear saves, Jaded feat grants +4 bonus on all horror saves [Ravenloft PHB].

How do you want to deal with stat generation?

Well shock is basically anything that might make you lose sanity. Fear effects are part of those and having courage feat would make it harder to lose sanity from fear by giving bonus to the initial check.

Won't use the horror save, since I don't have ravenloft.

Dun'no. Something heroic, but not too great. Maybe 28 PB?
