I'm thinking both my current and mythic PC's would be warforged paladins of Bahamut. In the past, the mythic PC was tasked with defending the Great Egg. The current warforged would also heed the call of the Platinum Dragon.

I'd definitely multiclass. Probably warlord for more leader-ish abilities and Str power options, and for General or Captain RP potential..

All the characters look good so far... Steve, what are you thinking about for your Mythic PC?

Good question ;-)
I think I'll go with the 1st level's character ancestor (great granfather or something). Same class, same race. The fey pact could be a family tradition, started to redeem the bloodline and repent from ancient hellish pacts.

FYI, I switched the race to thiefling to fit this hook.
Cheers,

SG

Works for me. Would the ancient ancestor of a tiefling be a tiefling or a human?

Also, is the spelling of 'tiefling' as 'thiefling' deliberate? You're consistent with it. I'm just curious.

I had been planning on a Dragonborn paladin of Bahamut for my current PC, as stated back in post 42. I guess we could both go that direction, but the overlap seems a bit of an issue.

I'm thinking ancient pc = Dragonborn Warlord.

Modern pc = Dragonborn ranger.

Backgrounds coming in a few hours (company over).

Some potential background on an ancient/modern dragonborn pair. Lemme know whatcha think (can be modded to fit with other lore). Sort of a d+d/terminator hybrid. The modern PC is the fantasy-equivalent of a luddite.

(Stog,dragonborn inspiring warlord)
In ancient times, Stog was a proud military commander of an even prouder dragonborn clan, the Dragh. His inspiring presence was legendary, and often the key in turning the tide of battles throughout the realm. As the Dragh gradually fought and won most of their iconic battles, the members of the clan became more comfortable, spending less of their time on war and more of it on other pursuits. Many of the clan began to experiment, using magic and artifice to make their lives easier. The pinnacle of convenience was reached with the creation of warforged as personal servants. These powerful, tireless workers were a great boon to the Dragh people. One fatefull day, the warforged got an agenda of their own, and as one rose up against their masters. Most of the clan had given up their war-making ways, and were easy prey for the machines. Most of the clan were lost, and those who survived only did so by fleeing.

(Krik, dragonborn TWF ranger)
Krik is one of the few surviving members of the Dragh clan. The Dragh have forsaken cities altogether, and now live in the forests in small settlements. They live as simple a life as they can, suspicious of magic and technology, especially when combined. Krik proved himself both a great hunter and great warrior at a relatively young age, and is first to be called upon whenever his settlement is in trouble.

Ha! That's funny, I never noticed it. Maybe I'm missing the H gene for tieflings! ;-)

aaaaaand I'm back from the weekend. Wow have you lot been busy.

So, I can confirm the following:

Mythic PC - Elf Nature Priest, probably level 20. Will get back to you with more details on that later in the day. As a quick note, Nature Priests are controllers and are from Mouseferatu's Advanced Players Guide.

Modern day PC - Half-elf Cleric (who will multi-class into Nature Priest as we go along). Brief idea - begins to realise that an ancient Nature Priest of legend never actually died, but instead was drawn into the forests and plains of his homeland and is now awakening again and trying to pass on a message of some sort.

Hope that sounds good to everyone!

Actually I've had a change of mind.

The modern day character will be a Dwarf Cleric. The thought of a Dwarven Cleric finding out he's being advised by a supposedly dead Elf is too funny not to do.

So - the ancient Elven Nature Priest was a wanderer throughout the world, bringing the force of nature against those that would despoil it. This means battling against all that is unnatural - undead, constructs, incursions from other worlds, you name it. He had begun to invest himself in the very warp and weft of the world, on the verge of becoming a Demigod of nature.

The modern day Dwarven Cleric has rebelled against the strict Lawful caste structure of Dwarf-kind. As a worshipper of Melora in all her forms (the power and majesty of the avalanche, the raging of the magma deep beneath the earth) he has set his heart on leaving the mountain-fortress and exploring what else nature has to offer. Deep in his heart he knows that one day he must return and make piece with his clan, but he is yet young and brash, seeking the quick fix.

The ancient-age Nature Priest was also probably tasked with helping to protect the Dragon Egg, acting as Nature's influence upon it. Various Abyssal lords, deific agents and undead types would all covet such an egg to use it for their own ends, so it makes sense for a Champion of Nature to be involved in it's protection.

Lastly, I've lost track of what everyone is planning on playing at the moment, in both settings. Could we get a list? I'd like to see if any glaring omissions jump out at me in terms of a hole in the group.

Sorry about that! I'll do a warforged fighter and/or warlord, then.

In fact, this is really inspiring. My mythic PC could have lead the revolt against the dragonborn. More drama opportunity this way!

Can someone remind me of the magic item rule? I think it's one item of (level), one of (level +1) and one of (level -1), plus enough gold to buy a (level -1) item. Is this correct?

Full backstory to follow!

For everybody: don't worry about overlap (or claim jumping). Play what you really want to play, regardless of what the others are playing. If there's overlap, focus on the goods aspects, for RP and mechanics.
