While the actual date seems to have passed all-but unnoticed, I would like to note that, as of July 5th, this game has been going for two full years. Congratulations to the team, and to the GMs!
Coolness, in the midst of my computer tribulations I sort of lost track of that. Thanks to all our wonderful players and my most excellent co-Dm for keeping this little endeavor going. Looks like if you survive this encounter we'll owe you about 1225 exp each as we still owe you for a few things before the current fight. That should put you pretty close to 7th level shouldn't it? So we are running about a level a year.
Update: Okay, after a little looking it seems you still have over 1500 to go. Guess we better start crafting another really tough encounter. Of course if a couple of you don't make it that will leave a bigger pot for the rest of you...

Now, about those bears...

I had also let the date slip away from me, but I knew it was getting close to 2 years. Wow, I don't think I've ever had a rl game last for 2 years. Thanks pfq1 for being such a good secretary/records clerk!
It's a rarity . . . my HEROs game lasted for 3 years 2 months (it was a little longer than that before I officially called it quits, but that's the time from first to last IC post). I still miss that game sometimes, but I'm hoping my PF game leaves that one in the dust - both for quality and longevity!
This game rocks as well, and I hope it lasts for at LEAST another two years! Though it may not last longer than the current encounter . . . what the heck are the challenge ratings on these bears?
CRs??? We don't need no steenking CRs!! Man up, Monk!
And if we have to roll-up a new party after this fight, that's certainly no reason to stop the game. The occasional TPK is a feather in a DM's cap, is it not?
That's what I'm doing, IC - but over here in metagame land I'm a little afeard of critters that miss my character only on a natural one and could leave him with -1 HP after one round of attacks (even with no crits, which is always a risky proposition with Scotley rolling) .

Hee hee, in truth we are coming up on three years. Our DM's wiki was established in August of 06. We exchanged emails for a while before that, so I'd guess the original spark was three years ago.
They are CR 7 monsters. Now our party is 7 level six characters strong with generous ability scores and gear. I figured you could handle it even with a few piddly cr 1 orcs and one cr 4 shaman thrown in. I did give you some advantageous terrain after all.
Looks like Brae is going to have some healing to do.

Happy Birthday! 31 huh? You are young. I've gotten married, gotten promoted, changed companies, had a kid, been through three dogs, four cars and four editions of D&D since I was 31.

HUZZAH, Kerlan! I've changed jobs, gotten divorced, gotten married again, gotten divorced again, buried that 2nd ex-wife and two (other) dogs, changed vehicles twice, and learned from utter scratch two editions of D&D since I was 31.
I have not gotten married, not gotten divorced, not changed jobs, not lost a dog, bought two vehicles (which have added to the other four...so I now have six in my garage/driveway...a couple of which I should really get around to selling), and not learned a new edition of D&D since I was 31.
