Oh, and Leif...does this take place in any certain world? Or should be just assume a completely generic setting, in which we can make up our own backgrounds and such?

hmm.. I'm gonna have to come up with a new concept, the tank concept i was planning needs STR, DEX, CON, and CHA to be workable, and with a 24 point buy I'd need to spend all of my gold just catching up to par.
I'm headin to bed now, but I'll figure out a different character concept that only needs 1 or 2 stats and post it after I get up tommorow.
just for the record could everybody repost their general character concept so we have an idea what the party looks like?
Gosh, I thought 24-pt-buy was generous! Wanna make it 28 instead? Will that help? Let's go ahead and make it 28-pt buy. Not sure how much difference that will make, Jemal, but I'm trying, at least.
You thought 24 was generous? LOL. That's the lowest point buy I've ever gamed in, actually.

I had actually given this some thought, believe it or not. Unfortunately, I didn't reach a conclusion. But, now that I think about it more, I've been wanting to try some EBERRON stuff! How does everybody feel about putting the game on Eberron? If there are objections to that, how about The Realms? Otherwise, we'll just stick in somewhere else. Actually, one of the modules that I was looking at is set on a different published world, but I don't think I wanna set it on a world that I can't look at, so that's out. It probably won't matter, except maybe for Feats and so forth, right? Any 3.5 published feats are probably acceptable. If they're very unusual at all, though, you'd better run them by me to be sure.

I prefer Realms to Eberron, only because I know the Realms fairly well. I don't have anything for Eberron, and my knowedlge of it is extremely limtied. But I can probably make just about anything work.

Might be time to expand your meager little horizons, Matthew! But, I'll take your (parochial, backwater) view into consideration and give it another look this evening, ok?
Post 64 has pretty much all you need in it. Houserules? Not really any that I'm aware of, but maybe I just take them for granted so much that I don't even realize that they are houserules!? I'll edit Post 64 to include permissible sources, too.
Does this mean that you taking me up on my offer as Alternate 1.0? Or am I already misremembering something? (No offense intended!!)
Are you asking if I am taking up that offer for reserve?
I can do that if the party size is a major issue, but I thought I was in the group of 6 since Cabana stepped back.

Is 28 ok with everyone? (Jemal?) 'cause I can go higher, I guess!
Sorry, Rathan! Hope your widdle noggin ain't bruised!

Nope, no expansion for me. I've spent far too much money as it is on ever-changing campaign settings. I'll just spend time working on my own instead.

Lazarius is very cool, Rathan! Gee, it's almost like you had him just waiting for the first DM that wandered by! I had a question about the rapier, but I just remembered that's a racial thing. My bad, sorry. Looks perfect! I can't wait to torture him!

28 is alright by me, but I won't protest if you wanna go higher.
As for settings, I know very, very little about any campaign settings... but that just means I get to experience and learn it firsthand through exploration, which is cooler to me anyway. Either works for me. Just forgive me if I screw something up.
Like... having Drizzt running around in Eberron, enjoying a few drinks with that Warforged dude in the Mournlands.
