Seems like every group I'm in lately we start out not knowing each other. That's cool - it makes for good opportunities for RP - but it gets to be the same old thing. I think it would be cool to try to RP a group that's known each other for a long time. I'm thinking in terms of some of the unscripted shows (Curb Your Enthusiasm, for example) - if it's assumed we are intimately familiar with each others' history, anything we say would have to be worked into the conversation as though it were true . . . while we'd need to be careful to avoid saying things that directly contradict backgrounds as written for the characters. (It won't be hard to avoid that for Seilg, since I haven't written one). Seems like it would be a cool way to collaboratively build a history.

Am I making sense? The idea is about half formed in my head, just trying to get it down.

In terms of a name, what about MacTire's Misfits, where MacTire is the man who originally put the team together. What happened to him? Is he dead? How did he die? If he's not dead, where is he now and why isn't he still leading us?

(Mac Tire is Irish Gaelic for Wolf, btw).

Hrm... I'd been thinking that Telos would have been an eccentric Drow sorceror chaffing in Drow society(and he wasn't particularly respected), and hence him being assigned to oversee the adventurers. If you wanted us to know one another, this could be a regular occurance, Telos being ordered to oversee groups of adventurers.

Works for me, though given Gar's and Seilg's likely personalities you might want to put 'oversee' in quotes . . .

"Hoi, Telos. Back to keep the upstarts from taking over the underdark?"

Back and forth bantering with the ease and lack of rancor born of long familiarity.

Though if we're not always part of the same group it makes the 'group name' less meaningful.

I'm fine either way it goes, though if we have a group history, I think it should be a decently long one (as in, all of us working together before for some time).

Last info I got was level 9. And I just got done with the annoying part of charactercreation... items. So, what level it is? (Also got a great idea for a duergar cave druid

Could build him for level 7

Items were suppose to be same gold as lvl 9 character so as not to change that but total lvl was to be level 7 character drop two lvls but keep your equipment as is

Okay, I just checked it over. There's only a few things that need fixing.

@ bedford: since your character is done just drop him down to lvl 8 please (as I am nice you may keep your starting gold the same no need to do everything over)

@ Voadam, Voda Vosa, and Theroc please make your characers lvl 7 but use lvl 8 character starting wealth (me being nice again and just say you all killed a dragon your last quest the treasure coming from it's hoard)

So then if Strahd makes a lvl 7 too (lvl 8 starting gold) then we have 4 x 7 = 28 + 8 = 36 all nice and neat.

I hope everyoe is ok with this and new people from here on out will start in group three. Maybe that group could be 6 members at lvl 6 who knows?

From the earlier posts I thought you were just letting Bedford's ECL 9 Lycanthrope character count as ECL 8 by knocking off an LA with no drawbacks and keep his already spent ECL 9 (36,000) worth of equipment, while everyone else in group 2 made ECL 7 characters with ECL 8 gold (27,000).

Should I upgrade my equipment to ECL 9 levels?

Voadam is correct everyone should had started with 27,000gp

Just means you need lose 9,000 not much (ok it is alot sorry again)

@WD You are in group two and I will be playing the NPC cleric(drow of course ) so we can start your adventure possible next week as you are the last character to check

So group two needs a kool name lol >> Spider Slayers?? lol

Also WD I just came from MotM (LEW game) Midias is about to hit lvl 2 or was that a typo??? If not I will need to check with the judges on how to handle in game leveling.
