Synd - Help and Criticism...

I'm working on building a game world that I'd eventually like to turn into a living world. I have a lot of work left to do but was wondering if anyone had any ideas or criticism for me?

The world is located on Wikispaces at Synd - Synd

Thanks!

After a quick look, I have a question...the continent is massive, and yet there are only 6 major cities? Maybe this is part of your overall design plan, but it would take months to travel between cities without magical aid. Is this all by design?

Thats definitely part that I need to add detail for. There are teleportation circles that can be used for travel from city to city but the cost is prohibitive for most citizens. For most people and cargo airships are the way to go. They travel fast enough that it only takes a few days, a week at the longest.

The reason that there are only 6 ccities with the size of the continent is that the people haven't started rebuilding their cities after the last war where nearly everything was destroyed. This is by design and I am hoping that as the world developes the actions of the players will help the cities to be rebuilt and will determine the power structures and struggles of the cities...

Thanks Rhun!

I noticed some of your races have descriptions pending and the few I saw looked to be in 4e style.

I don't know much of 4e but I am a good ideals man I think first you should finish the races give them general locations in the world and a story will develop while you do that. Why do they live so far from this other race do they like hate them, got seperated in the war, went to be away from all the others. Questions? Questions?

But again finish all your races and that can give you a jump off point.

You guys have definitely helped show me what I need to clarify and what needs to be made more concise. I'm going to update and change some information around to make it easier for people to understand the world as well as finish all of the races and gods before I re-post

To answer your questions HolyMan...

The races are so far apart because they were seperated by war. The only ones that are far apart by choice are the northern halflings who are rather xenophobic.

Once everything is updated and more detail is in there I'll let you know!

Thanks for your input!

Also, Reklaw...you may want to consider posting this in the Plots & Places forum. That is the traditional place for posting campaign worlds for feedback.

I have one tab open for "General Discussion" One for "Plots and Places"(mostly for diving for RG's when I'm asked for a roll, since I can't keep track of all the exact specifics of my plethora of characters), one for D&D 3rd Edition rules, one for Talking the Talk, one for Playing the Game, one for Living Enworld, one for Living 4th Edition, and another for Living Eberron. In addition to any D20SRD tabs I have open for rules queries and Invisiblecastle for rolling, and the 4th edition Living Wiki's for me to access my PC's pages for checks there. As well as a couple other forums I RP.

Hm... funny, I use so many tabs, yet I'm a poor multi-tasker... >.>

Edit: Me and my offtopic responses! Good luck with your project, Reklaw! (Is the backwords spelling of Walker intentional or just a byproduct of a name you thought sounded cool?)

Thanks, and Reklaw is an intentional backwords spelling of Walker. All my usual usernames had been taken and I tried reversing my last name... And now it's stuck.
