What I'm doing with CS2 is that there will be a single huge "config file" and instead of opening new ones, etc etc... They'll all be contained within the same file, and you can simply switch rulesets. We'll see how this pans out in implementation.
Party lists, and everything, will be fully handled within individual "game files". You can switch between parties, and do a huge variety of things. The GM should be able to, then, view every aspect of his campaign - players, encounters, everything - right from the program. CS2 will still be a game prep tool, of course, but also a great tool for using -at the table-.
I should have the first screenshots of the Alpha version up in a few days.
As a side note, anyone purchasing CSX will still receive a voucher for a discount when CS2 becomes available.
