Campaign Suite 2 Announcement - Wishlist

FONT=Arial Narrow]I saw your announcement of Campaign Suite 2. Several things about this announcement:

* Please, please, please do NOT implement skins in CS2. while a lot of people like skins, individuals with vision problems find skins dificult to
use. I own Roxio Easy CD/DVD which uses a skin that is almost entirely
white; this is very painful to my eyes. I tried out Blinds for a while,
hoping to find some sort of high contrast black schem that was more acceptable. The supplied skins or the ones developed by users were too bright, were dfark but no contrast, or too busy and confusing. Keep the
GUI simple, easy to use, and conform to Windows standards for implementing
colors.

* Add an party manager. You currently have Character and Campaign
managers. I want to keep charcters together by party. While a party might be having an adventure within a campaign, I may want to have several parties running in different areas of my campaign at once.

* Add an encounter/combat manager to keep track of saving throws, to-hit
die, and experience accumulated per party or per character.[/font]

From a programming standpoint, you may want to design the new system as a suite of interlocking modules. Conceivably, you could sell each module separately, so that if someone does not need a particular piece, that person is not paying for it. I sucspect that most people, myself included, would prefer to purchase the entire bundle. This approach would, also, allow for other parties to develope add-ons that Twin Rose would recommend, ala Campaign Cartographer.

Thanks for your great input by the way! Sorry I didn't reply sooner, when the database crashed there was just so much on my plate

What I'm doing with CS2 is that there will be a single huge "config file" and instead of opening new ones, etc etc... They'll all be contained within the same file, and you can simply switch rulesets. We'll see how this pans out in implementation.

Party lists, and everything, will be fully handled within individual "game files". You can switch between parties, and do a huge variety of things. The GM should be able to, then, view every aspect of his campaign - players, encounters, everything - right from the program. CS2 will still be a game prep tool, of course, but also a great tool for using -at the table-.

I should have the first screenshots of the Alpha version up in a few days.

As a side note, anyone purchasing CSX will still receive a voucher for a discount when CS2 becomes available.
