Stargate Nerd Rage!
RTD made the mistake of saying in an interview that he didn't like Stargate. Cue Stargate fan nerdrage!
OK, he probably shouldn't have said it for reasons of professional courtesy, but he's entitled to not like a show.

I've seen the same happen by Doctor Who fans, when Bob Mortimer (a UK comedian, for those hwo don't know) mentioned he'd never enjoyed an episode of Doctor Who - the nerdragers called into question is parentage, his motives, his talent as a comedian.. everything.
It's a weird phenomenon.

Not really. Fans tend to take themselves and what they love too seriously. It's always good to remember fan is short for fanatic. Could you imagine if he said something bad about a football team?

Of course he doesn't like Stargate, he thinks he does that show better.

This. A thousand times this. Surely all of those "X Edition is Horrible!" threads haven't escaped you on ENWorld. Well, on a bad day, hardcore Sci-Fi fans can make even the hardest of hardcore RPG fans look like freakin' saints

But without it we never would have been blessed with "infinite oregano".

I know a lot of people don't like Stargate, but I take it for what it is. It's fun! I don't care if they get their science wrong or if they never wonder why everyone in the universe speaks English.

Oooo, that link in the first post led me to this:
http://www.gateworld.net/news/2008/1...stargate.shtml
which I did not know about!!! That should cheer up my poor old dad, who's been in a kind of Stargate mourning for the last wee while...

I recently heard that SciFi channel has cancelled Star Gate Atlantis. That's too bad. I liked it.

Me too.
Haven't seen season five yet, though.
And Stargate Universe looks promising...

Oh! The MMO? I wonder if it will do well without a TV series keeping the setting alive. I suppose it could.

Sorry about the insanely belated reply...
Not a game, the next show! Stargate: Universe, starts airing in the US sometime in the autumn.
Robert Carlyle is in it, and the trailers look...not bad...
