Fluff
Background
Joven's Fist is a barren and windswept rock somewhere in the Shifting Seas. Atop its black basalt slopes sits a desolate fortress. For generations, this fortress, The Knuckle, has served as a prison for the worst Allarian criminals for whom death was not a viable punishment. The Knuckle is staffed almost entirely with intelligent constructs who have been created solely for the purpose of maintaining order amongst the prison population, which includes preventing escape. Unwilling to entrust the security of this place to mere living constructs, the Warden and his "Executive Staff" were appointed positions available to the finest and most effective jailers in Allaria. While the kingdom of Allaria no longer stands, some of the prisoners in the Knuckle are still doing their time, hundreds of years later. The Allarian League maintains the Knuckle. Occasionally a prisoner is sent through one of the few remaining one-way portals to the prison, never to be seen again by civilized society.
Catein is a construct built for restraint. Known colloquially as a "chainer," its primary function at the Knuckle was to aid in the binding and holding of prisoners who needed to be controlled. Its entire body is a series of variously-sized chains, some of which can extend for dozens of feet to grab a distant target. It is shaped so that, if necessary, it can completely envelop a man-sized target and hold it in place. Its entire worldview is built upon the idea that most of the "squishy" (non-construct) living beings it comes in contact with are in need of punishment, discipline, and restraint, lest they allow themselves to become gateways for evil and hideous acts. It's bad enough that their bodies are made of meat and will begin to rapidly decay into putrescent vessels if not properly maintained; they also continually try to impose this disgusting condition on their peers.
Several days ago, Catein entered the Warden's office unannounced and found him engaged in a criminal act with a juvenile of the elven race. Catein's training was to restrain those it found in the commission of illegal acts and then to call for the Staff. This was clearly an illegal act, and Catein did as it was trained to do, separating the Warden from the girl, restraining the Warden and calling for a guard. Unfortunately, the Warden and his guards were unpleased with this behavior and began to damage Catein in an effort to free the Warden. In an effort to preserve itself and the girl, Catein scooped her up and ran. The Warden yelled something to the guards about Catein having gone mad and needing to be destroyed. The guards chased Catein and the girl through the Knuckle and out onto the wet slopes of Joven's Fist. It was at this time that Catein's self-preservation instinct kicked in for the first time in its existence. It desperately wanted the pursuit to stop, and to its amazement, great chains sprung up from the ground itself and bound the guards where they stood. A portal opened in front of Catein and a deep voice in its head said, "Well done, Invoker of Justice. They will be punished. I have a new task for you. Step through the portal into your new life."
Catein went through the portal with the girl, but arrived in Daunton without her. Catein has been wandering the city for several days, mostly being appalled at this strange world full of meat people wantonly exercising their unrestrained impulses. Its new purpose and new life has not yet been revealed to Catein, but it knows that it must pursue that which is right and just.

Personality: Catein is an unforgiving dispenser of Justice. It is disgusted by the day-to-day activities of the squishy inhabitants of the world. Common activities such as eating, drinking, and using the bathroom are alien and Catein would rather people kept these activities to themselves. At least they have private rooms for waste elimination; why must they gather to masticate and digest together?
Physical Description: Catein at first appears to be an animated suit of chainmail, but where one would expect to see exposed flesh, there is a fine mesh of chains. When he moves, the chains are variously retracted and lengthened in a near-perfect imitation of musculature. When taut, these chains form strong massed "muscles" that are very solid to the touch. When relaxed, however, the chains can easily be pushed aside. Catein considers it a serious breach of personal space for someone to exploit this feature and reach inside its body.
