Rampage
Once per round, when you score a critical hit with a barbarian attack power, you can immediately make a melee basic attack as a free action. You do not have to attack the same target that you scored a critical hit against.
Unsleeping Watcher
Cleaver does not sleep and instead enters a state of inactivity for 4 hours to gain the benefits of an extended rest. While in this state, he is fully aware of his surroundings and notices approaching enemies and other events as normal.

Character Information

Background

Cleaver served on the Cyran front as a commissioned officer, commanding first a small contingent of Warforged and eventually an entire battalion of both living and construct soldiers. His commission was abruptly canceled a month before the day of mourning when he manifested the Mark of Sentinel.

A Warforged bearing one of the true Dragonmarks was nigh unheard of. House Deneith recalled him, and spent months examining the mark, testing it's veracity, and studying it in every way possible. It was during this time that Cleaver began to appreciate nature, finding what little peace he could in the plants and nature surrounding the facility where he was held.

The tests finally concluded the day the treaties were signed. With the pronouncement of Warforged as free beings he was offered tentative membership in house Deneith. He accepted it on the condition that for now he be able to roam Khorvaire and see the world. House Deneith begrudgingly accepted, knowing Cleaver could be an invaluable resource, one they should not alienate. In his travels Cleaver has also become very intrigued by the Lord of Blades and hopes to meet him some day. Unlike many Warforged however, Cleaver seeks to dissuade the Lord of Blades from his set course.

Cleaver feels that the Warforged could indeed carve a nation out of dead Cyre, but feels they should nurture the land, not destroy all of Khorvaire and claim it for themselves. Taking this position to heart, he has had as many of his metal components as possible replaced with various treated woods. He is currently in Sharn actively seeking employ that will take him into the Mournland, or earn him the favor of someone with the power and inclination to send him there.

Appearance

Much of Cleaver's body is composed of what appears to be wood, in dark reds and browns with only his chest, head, and major joints showing any significant amount of metal. Short, silvered, bull like horns protrude from his temples, framing the typical unblinking eyes of most living constructs.

A giant executioners axe hangs from his back and he wears hide armor stained red. His shoulder bears what appears to be the distinctive swirl of a Sentinel Dragonmark, and his cape proudly displays the Deneith Chimera.

The only other distinctive features he possesses are an Arcane Signet ring welded to the middle finger on his left hand.

Personality

Alignment: Unaligned

Cleaver is blunt and to the point. Because of his military experience he still habitually analyzes every situation from a practical, tactical viewpoint. This often causes awkward social situations, and on more then one occasion has started fights. Once in a great while Cleaver's awkward, decisive statements can cut to the heart of a matter, displaying great levels of insight and depth hidden somewhere inside him.

He shows great appreciation for all of natures phenomena, though he lacks little to no practical knowledge of any. His mount, a Clawfoot by the name of Ripfang, is his dearest friend and the one sure way to drive Cleaver mad with rage . Since his release, Cleaver has had no companions save his mount and often spends inordinate amounts of time caring for him.

Cleaver aspires to lead by example. He would wish great things for all of Khorvaires Warforged, but attributes any who fail to see the light of his reason as experiencing design flaws. He is a steadfast ally, and will not hesitate to protect those weaker then him or engage a powerful enemy with little thought for his own safety. As he is oft wont to say "While I am free, I am still a free instrument. The only thing that has changed is I now wield myself."

Hooks

  • Required to do any kind of duty for House Deneith (Possibly conflicting with some of his ideals..oooh Moral Dilemma thy name is delicious character development!)
  • A foray into the Mournland allowing him to meet an agent of the Lord of Blades, or the Lord himself

Kicker

Cleaver is unsure whether his place is with House Deneith. He has bought himself 5 years of time to decide, and then the house will come calling. As of right now, 2 of these years have already expired.
