Character Information

Background

My name is Elec d'Lyrander, I was born the son of Calynden "The Kraken" d'Lyrandar, in Stormreach. My father was proud he could cultivate a son, or so his first letters say. As soon as I reached an age appropriate for travel, I was sent to Stormhome to begin training. Letters came and went, but my only memories of my father are through those letters. That's enough about that. No I won't answer questions about Stormfront, it's a myth, and the slanderous accusations toward my father are not appreciated.

Arcane training came slowly, at first. Gradually, as I changed, things began coming easily and naturally. When I was a child, I was fascinated by the innate powers in my childhood playmates. Shanairra, and Shava, are two that stand out. Shanairra, because she suddenly disappeared, and her parents brewed a storm that lasted what seemed like forever. No one ever found anything out about it either... To this day I'm not sure what happened, they say she was taken by the Devourer.

Shava, because... at first... and... It was the mark. She had the mark, and my father made it sound as if that mark were a signal of perfection. Only with the mark could I be whole for him. She had it, and she later held a strong control over the elements, which was even more enticing. As we aged, we began to see each other in court. That was when she first showed interest in me, I was excited, but my father was not.

Lyran's Gift enrolled me in their "Squall" program, and gave me the name Elec-Squall. I stopped attending court all together and began going through a series of arcane experiments to focus and hone my power. Fervor and persistence paid off, and a slow change was beginning to take form in my body.

I was told my training was going live, for use in the war. When I boarded the ship, my first airship, I was told to report to the First Mate. That electric blue streak was unmistakeable, it was Shava, and I was stunned. As the war pressed forward, I felt truly alive aboard that ship! My body was changing rapidly, becoming like the atmosphere in the air, at the same time my heart was changing. I fell in love with the sky, and Shava.

After the war Shava went back to the courts, I couldn't. The physical change was complete, I had become an elemental, and the experiment had to stay confidential. Just before she left, I laid bare my true feelings for Shava, and she rebuffed me. The gift I bestowed on her, she kept, a magic dagger. I went back to experiments in the Lyran's Gift facility...

Recently, I heard word that Shava had left, so I escaped. My hope is that my search will end, with finding, and being accepted by my love. Lyran's Gift may follow me, my father may send for me, and Shava may reject me yet again. It would all be worth it just to be sure.

Appearance

Storm-cloud grey skin, with an overlaid lattice of bright blue bolts, appears stretched over a half-elven form. Lightning arcs constantly, where hair would be if Elec-Squall were still a half-elf, three inches in chaotic directions. Elec-Squall wears a specialized suit of cloth that he bought upon leaving the research facility, it handles the rare nature of his condition well. On his back is strapped a medium sized chest, which is filled with rope, and climbing gear.

Personality

Alignment: Unaligned

Elec-Squall is torn between Arawai, and The Devourer. His nature is just as chaotic as the storms that he is named after. Sometimes producing destruction just to watch the storm destroy, and others raining down thunder so that life may flourish.

Something that doesn't change is Elec-Squall's great passion, he is filled with a lust for life.
