Character Information

Background

Thusk was born 16 years ago in an orc tribe of the Shadow Marches. It was a difficult time, when his tribe was fighting back packs of aberrations that had escaped the watchful guard of the Gatekeepers. When it seemed they would be overwhelmed, a traveler reached accidentally the wood they inhabited. Although not a long time has passed, the figure has become a legend. Some say that, despite being a human, he was as tall as a Troll. That he was as strong as ten orcs. That he would wipe away scores of monsters like the wind lifts the ash from the ground. Whatever the truth is, the warrior aided the tribe, and their land was saved by the tide of madness. What is certain, too, is that when the whole tribe gathered to celebrate the great victory, in a great feast, the man, clouded by alcohol (and here the story is mostly legend, for the recounting of the quantity of alcohol ingested by the traveler cannot be but obscene lies), he possessed a young, but powerful shamanness of the tribe. Which would be Thusk's mother.

The next morning, the traveler was gone; only a name he left behind: Roaring Duran, he was called. And so, a few months later, a child was born that brought that name, after her mother's clan's name. And great uproar, caused his birth. Both because of his father, and because Thusk was the first Khoravar of his tribe. But most of all, the wise shamanness herself predicted that he would have a great future, and a great part in the unfolding of a great prophecy. And the elders, too, heeded her, and noone doubted. And so, when Thusk reached adulthood, after growing strong and healthy in the woods and swamps of his homeland, he was presented with a mighty sword, that had been bathed in the blood of the enemies of the tribe for generations, he was told to be on his way. To look for his father, if he could find him, but most of all, to look for his place in Eberron.

Appearance

Thusk is a young halfork, still lean, although considerably muscular. He hasn't reached yet the height typical of his half-kin, nor the wide complexion. He looks rather human, and can certainly mistaken for one with little light. He has typically stong facial features, but not too raw. He has black, messy hair and dark-green, curious eyes. He wears wide, comfortable (if a bit dirty, after all the trip to Sharn) travel clothes, and an armor made from the hide of a crocodile. From his neck, an amulet made from a fang is hanging, and on his back is sheated a curved sword almost as long as he is tall. But that nice, young face doesn't show any intention of wieldig it...

Personality

Alignment: Good

Thusk is young and rather naive. He's very curious of the world, but has just started to see a little bit of it. Sharn represents well all that is new and confusing to him. All the people, and noises, and smells, and the tall buildings he has never seen or experienced before. He is nice of character, playful and generally kind, although not what you would call... educated in the rules of social behavior in the "civilized" lands. He's determined to see the world and make experience for more serious reasons too. His mother, with the authority of the most powerful shaman in the village, has grown him up with the myth of his father and the idea that he would be one day great. Thusk knows not the reason or the way it will happen. But he knows it will. And make no mistake. As nice and gentle he might be, the spirits have been generous with him, and he knows well how to make use of them in battle. Fearsome is his rage when he's imbued by the primal forces. And his weapon itself has taught him well: to hurt, you must be hurt; to kill, you must be prepared to be killed. Such is the Rule of Nature. The ancestral weapon of a shamanistic tribe brings a deep meaning within itself.

Hooks

  • Thusk's mother's clan steems from a branch of House Tharashk, although it hasn't bore any Dragonbarks in generations.
  • Thusk is determined to see as much of the world as he can, and discover what his destiny should be.
  • Thusk is looking for his father in the meanwhile, but that will be a difficult one...
