[edit] Formatting

When entering a new item into the OGC Compilation, please be sure to include the folowing two elements:

  • The first line of your entry should read [item name] is a [item type] from [product name] published by [publisher name]. For example: Dire Bear is a monster from The Book of D&D Monsters published by Random Publisher Inc. Put double square brackets around each element in this sentence (check previous entries for examples), as the OGC Compilaton will also form the basis of a massive directory of publishers and products.
    • You can use the OGLHeader template to add this initial first line and a box declaring the page as content that uses the OGL. If you would rather write the first line yourself you can add the box separately by using the OGLBox template.
  • The last line in your entry should indicate the category in which the entry falls. This is accomplished by entering: Category: Category Name, surrounded by double square brackets.
  • Add the contents of the product's OGL s15 to the Wiki's OGL (see below).

[edit] Open Gaming License

  • See the Wiki OGL. When an item is added, the s15 portion of the OGL found in that product must be replicated in the s15 (at the bottom) of the Wiki OGL. Only one replication per product is needed (i.e. you don't need to do it for each item of OGC taken from a book, just on the initial use of that product).
  • Publishers! Is something misattributed or incorrectly cited as OGC? We're very careful to avoid such situations, but should we make a mistake, we'll rectify it with apologies. Your active participation would be greatly appreciated; all entries will be linked to both a publisher page and specific product pages here on the Wiki, which serves as free advertising for you. You are welcome to edit your product and publisher pages, and to provide links to purchase your product(s); note that we will attempt to do this as much as possible, as long as we can find the information. We want you to benefit from this compilation as much as the end-users.
