Version 1.0 These are optional rules for adding sundering back into the game.

Sunder

You attempt to attack an opponent’s weaponry or armour, damaging it and decreasing its effectiveness. This is useful for weakening a formidable opponent, making it easier to hit them or withstand their blow.

SUNDER: STANDARD ACTION

Target: You can sunder the weapon, shield or armour of an adjacent enemy. The equipment must be smaller or the same size as you, or one category larger.

Provokes: Sundering an opponent’s weapon or armour provokes an Opportunity Attack.

Strength Attack: Make a Strength attack vs Reflex defense.

Hit: You have damaged the weapon or armour.

No Equipment: If the target has no weapons or armour they cannot be sundered.

Repeatable: A target can be sundered multiple times. Not all effects stack.

Repairable: Damaged equipment can be repaired. A short rest removes the penalties from a single sundering. An extended rest removes all penalties from sundering.

Sundering Weapons

This is what happens when a weapon has been sundered.

Penalty to Attack: Attacks with a damaged weapon suffer a -1 penalty to attack rolls. This penalty does not increase with repeated sundering.

Penalty to Damage: Attacks with a damaged weapon suffer a -1 penalty to damage. Repeated sundering increases this penalty.

Sundering Armour

This is what happens when armour has been sundered.

Check Penalty: The skill check penalty from sundered armour changes by -1. This penalty does not increase with repeated sundering.

Penalty to AC: The armour bonus of sundered armour decreases by 1. Repeated sundering increases this penalty.
