Background

Original discussion thread found here: http://www.enworld.org/forum/showthread.php?t=228961

It might be a good idea to separate "Points of Light", the basic concept, from the implied setting in 4E that's an implementation of the Points of Light theme. withak 12:58, 7 July 2008 (UTC)

Agreed.

Just so you guys know what I'm doing; as time allows, I'm just starting at the top and working my way down, hitting all the high points. I've already written up an entry for Asmodeus, and I guess Gruumsh is next. - AshremBayle-3103 21:31, 7 July 2008 (UTC)

  • It might be a good idea to start each new page off with a "X in 4th Edition" kind of heading, so that if someone wants to add stuff about, say, Eladrin in 3rd edition, we get some obvious separation of content right off the bat. withak (talk) 18:45, 7 July 2008 (UTC)

It would be cool to annotate all of the bits of info to show where they come from (PHB, DMG, magazines, the preview books, etc.) MediaWiki has a very good inline citation system but it might be too cumbersome for this purpose. I'll start playing around with it. withak (talk) 18:45, 7 July 2008 (UTC)

  • Either the inline citation system isn't installed here or I'm not using it right. Hrm. withak (talk) 19:23, 7 July 2008 (UTC)

I agree that it's a good idea to cite sources. However, regarding the "4e" label, I'd suggest instead labeling "3e" articles as "X in 3e". After all, 4e is sort of the new standard and most people will be using this for 4e data. I suspect 3e focused articles will be a minority. Also, I just did an article on Bael Turath. Really not much to look at though. :( AshremBayle-3103 21:31, 7 July 2008 (UTC)

Geography

Great work here. I would like to see a more detailed discussion of the geography of the setting (to the extent we know it). For instance, what is the basis for the areas shown on the map outside of the Nintir Vale? Armadillo 14:53, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

Is there a source for the claim that that the Elsir Vale lies directly south/southwest of the Nentir Vale? This seems to contradict the geographic information in P1: King of the Trollhaunt Warrens. If there's no published proof that the Elsir Vale and Nentir Vale are anywhere near one another, I think these regions ought to be presented separately.--Doctorhook 20:30, 6 December 2008 (UTC)

Elsier Vale

As the new AP from dungeon has come forth, and uses the Elsir Vale, are we going to use the AP information for the official wiki POL??

Spelling

We've gotta correct the obvious misspellings in this article; it's not confidence-inspiring when the article misspells major aspects of its own topic. "Nentir Vale" and "Elsir Vale" are misspelled several times, including on the outdated map.--Doctorhook 20:34, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
