Dragons & Chickens
2-5 players, ages 8+, 15-20+ minutes
By Devir

Dragons & Chickens is a game of visual acuity and quick reflexes in which you have to collect treasures, hide from a terrible dragon, catch chickens ... and steal from your teammates, of course.

In this game, players reveal cards from each of their decks at the same time. These cards include icons representing different treasure items. Whoever first notices which icon is repeated the most times on these revealed cards needs to name this item out loud; if they're correct, that player collects all of the cards played by the players. If more than one icon is present multiple times, then the player who grabs the chest first gets the cards.

Dragons are sometimes hidden in the graphics of the cards. When one of those cards is revealed, everybody needs to put their hand on top of the shield. The last one to do so must pay all of the cards they have collected so far that include the symbols indicated in the dragon's card. However, that player can avoid making this payment by producing a chicken card since dragons love chicken and are happy to forfeit all treasure as long as they can get a tasty meal.

At the end of the game, whoever has the most treasure cards in their stash wins!

Spyfall 2
3-12 players, ages 10+, 10+ minutes
By Cryptozoic

Spyfall is a party game unlike any other, one in which you get to be a spy and try to understand what's going on around you. It's really simple!

Spyfall is played over several rounds, and at the start of each round all players receive cards showing the same location — except that one player receives a card that says "Spy" instead of the location. Players then start asking each other questions — "Why are you dressed so strangely?" or "When was the last time we got a payday?" or anything else you can come up with — trying to guess who among them is the spy. The spy doesn't know where he is, so he has to listen carefully. When it's his time to answer, he'd better create a good story!

At any time during a round, one player may accuse another of being a spy. If all other players agree with the accusation, the round ends and the accused player has to reveal his identity. If the spy is uncovered, all other players score points. However, the spy can himself end a round by announcing that he understands what the secret location is; if his guess is correct, only the spy scores points.

After a few rounds of guessing, suspicion and bluffing, the game ends and whoever has scored the most points is victorious!

Spyfall 2 features the same gameplay as Spyfall with two important changes: (1) Enough location cards are included that the upper player count is now twelve instead of eight, and (2) two spies can be found at each location, giving all of the non-spy players more of a challenge when it comes to tracking down who doesn't belong.

The Mumakil Adventure Pack
Lord of the Rings LCG Expansion
By Fantasy Flight Games

The Mûmakil is the first Adventure Pack in the Haradrim cycle for The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game.

After surviving their first adventures amid The Sands of Harad, several of Middle-earth's greatest heroes find themselves surrounded by enemies and stranded far from home. Now, with The Mûmakil and the Haradrim cycle, these heroes embark upon the harrowing homeward journey. No roads guide their way, yet they must travel more than five-hundred miles from Far Harad back to the safety of Gondor, along a route that will lead them straight through some of the world's strangest and most dangerous lands.

What will come of their travels? As it leads us into the Haradrim cycle, The Mûmakil establishes our heroes' plight and their ambitions. With hundreds of miles of hostile territory between them and their destination, the heroes must be cautious and alert, and they must think carefully about how best to prepare themselves for their journey. So it is that in The Mûmakil we find the heroes heading into the jungles of Harad in order to capture Oliphaunts to serve them as mounts.

Meanwhile, in addition to the many dangers and surprises of its scenario, The Mûmakil introduces a new hero and three copies each of nine different player cards that develop the cycle's focus on new partnerships. You'll find powerful events that require you to build your fellowship around paired Traits, as well as the opportunity to make allies with some of the Haradrim, themselves.

Braggart (2nd Edition)
2-6 players, ages 10+, 30+ minutes
By Spiral Galaxy

Braggart is card game of heroes, lies and unfortunate fish!

You sit in The Heroes Return, a tavern famed for its heroic client?le. You're not a hero, but you talk a good game. You and your friends are holding court, regaling the crowds with your tales of supposed derring-do. The crowd are an appreciative bunch, and will reward the best stories with their coin. Your aim? To tell better stories than your opponents!

Construct your exploits by playing cards from your hand. Each card played will contain a part of your story (a Scene, a Foe, a Deed or a Reward) and combine into an epic tale. Embellish this with a rousing delivery, no-one is going to believe you if you sound like you are reading the bar menu! If you are struggling to come up with a good brag then spend your round getting 'inspiration' at the bar, drawing new cards into your hand. Maybe you will draw the Liar card allowing you to call out your fellow heroes by swapping one of their high scoring cards with a lower scoring card from your hand. After all, it was you who saved the damsel from The Lonely Ogre!

Each card has a value listed on it. The brag with the highest cumalitive score is deemed the most impressive by the crowd, who will reward the player with coins for each card played. Each other player will recieve coins for one card in their brag, after all you aren't the worst story teller this place has seen! The bar closes when the deck runs out, and the Braggart with the most coins will be crowned the winner!
So what are you waiting for? The tavern is full, the bar is soon to close and the crowd are getting rowdy!

The only way to win is by successfully attacking each other, and each attack involves interesting bluffing mechanisms in which the attacker doesn't know the defense capacity of their opponent...

Holmes: Sherlock & Mycroft
2 players, ages 10+, 20-30+ minutes
By Devir

In February 1895, London woke up to a loud bang. A large pillar of smoke showed that a bomb had exploded in the Houses of Parliament. Security forces were activated immediately and they arrested a suspicious young laborer near the area.

Mycroft Holmes, at the service of the crown, was commissioned to investigate the relationship of the young laborer with anarchist groups. He thinks it will be an easy task that he can do from the comfort of his armchair in the Diogenes Club — until he is informed of disturbing news; his younger brother Sherlock Holmes, Consulting Detective, has been hired by the boy's parents to prove the innocence of his son, who believes to be a scapegoat of a dark conspiracy.

For the first time, the brightest minds in London face each other. Was the young laborer involved in this terrible attack or he is just a scapegoat for a dark conspiracy?

Barcelona : The Rose of Fire
2-4 players, ages 10+, 70-90+ minutes
By Devir

We are in Barcelona in the late 19th century. The old city walls have just been torn down, finally freeing the city's growth outward towards the old villages that surround it. Based on the plans by Cerdà, the construction of Barcelona's famous Eixample (Catalan for "expansion") has begun. It is a period of great prosperity when the burgeoning upper middle class families found their fortunes and used their wealth to demonstrate their power by constructing unique buildings and supporting initiatives for the city's inhabitants. However, not everything is so pleasant in the city. Its prosperity is drawing more and more people to work in the big city, and revolutionary movements are taking hold among the city's unemployed workers.

Barcelona: The Rose of Fire is a board game for 2-4 players in which the players compete for social prestige and personal wealth while trying to avoid the revolution that is spreading through the city.

Checkpoint Charlie
3-5 players, ages 10+, 20-30+ minutes
By Devir

Checkpoint Charlie is a game of observation, deduction, and mental agility. Watch all the suspects carefully and find out which of them is the chief of spies using the clues that you and the other investigators uncover. Be the first to find the chief of spies and become the best hound dog!

In the game, each player receives a clue that reveals one out of five possible traits of the chief of spies. Each player keeps revealing cards, indicating whether each character is a suspect or not. As the game progresses, players gather more and more clues to lead them towards the chief of spies. This chief of spies will coincide with five out of five possible clues, and his aides will match four out of those five. Whoever accuses the chief of spies on time gets the most points. Players who accuse the aides will also earn some points, while the other players might not receive any points at all — or even negative rewards. The game includes two optional rules that add more strategy to the gameplay.

Checkpoint Charlie is set during the cold war, and the subject of detectives and spies is applied using cartoon-stylized dogs and cats.

The deck consists of various foes to combat and other perils from the dungeon. Each card, though, depicts both the obstacle to overcome and the potential rewards for doing so. When you defeat a card, you claim it as either experience, an item, or a skill, tucking it under the appropriate side of your character card to show its benefits.

The longer you take exploring the dungeon, the deeper you'll delve, and the difficulty will scale up quickly! If you make it far enough, you'll have to fight the dungeon boss. Survive, and you'll be a legend!

The Pikeman’s Lament
Wargames Rules
By Osprey

Recreate the action and drama of 17th Century warfare on your tabletop with The Pikeman's Lament. Start by creating your Officer - is he a natural leader raised from the ranks, the youngest son of a noble family, or an old veteran who has seen too many battles? As you campaign, your Officer will win honour and gain promotion, acquiring traits that may help lead his men to victory. Before each skirmish, your Officer must raise his Company from a wide range of unit options - should he lean towards hard-hitting heavy cavalry or favour solid, defensively minded infantry? Companies are typically formed from 6-8 units, each made up of either 6 or 12 figures, and quick, decisive, and dramatic games are the order of the day. With core mechanics based on Daniel Mersey's popular Lion Rampant rules, The Pikeman's Lament captures the military flavour of the 17th Century, and allows you to recreate skirmishes and raids from conflicts such as the Thirty Years' War, the English Civil Wars, and the Great Northern War.

Silver Bayonet
1-2 players, ages 12+, 30-480+ minutes
By GMT Games

Silver Bayonet recreates the pivotal November 1965 battle between a full North Vietnamese Army Division and the US 1st Air Cavalry Division in the Ia Drang Valley. NVA expertise in lure and ambush tactics resulted in significant US casualties. US mobility and the ability to bring massive amounts of firepower to bear quickly virtually destroyed the attacking NVA division and forced a change in NVA tactics.

This re-issue of GMT Games' 1990 CSR Award winning title that started it all keeps the original operational system, but streamlines to it to include innovative combat resolution integrating maneuver combat, close assault, artillery bombardment, and support from gunships and air sorties.

Quartermaster General : 1914
2-5 players, ages 12+, 90-120+ minutes
By Plastic Soldier Company

Quartermaster General: 1914 is the next title in the critically acclaimed Quartermaster General series by Ian Brody and creates a narrative of the First World War in Europe, reflecting the military, technological, and social changes that occurred over the following four years.

In Quartermaster General: 1914, each card has two different uses: one when played, and another when prepared. On your turn, you have the opportunity to both play and prepare a card. You can also spend cards to draft more troops, or use cards to attrition your opponents. However, your deck represents your overall resources, so moving too quickly through your deck early might result in your unsupported armies being swept away in the final rounds of the game. This is worth it if you can capture Berlin or Paris in 1915, but if your gambit fails, you may have a tough road ahead.

The game ends after 17 rounds of play, or earlier if one side has a commanding lead.

On to Paris : The Franco-Prussian War
1-2 players, ages 14+, 60-720+ minutes
By Compass Games

On To Paris! uses a wargame system adapted from Victory Games' “The Civil War” to simulate the grand events of the Franco Prussian war (1870-71) and challenge players to control the leadership, organization and military operations of Armies and Corps during the later 19th century.

On To Paris! simulates both phases of the Franco Prussian war; the German invasion of France in 1870 and the German conquest of France in 1871. Designed for two players, On To Paris! is also suitable for solitaire play. Nine scenarios include an ‘early start’ plus a full length campaign game. Players can also pick any scenario as a starting point and determine their own period of the conflict to simulate.
