World War Cthulhu : Cold War
Call of Cthulhu 7th Edition Setting Book
By Cubicle 7 Entertainment

“The Americans were passing Intel to the Israelis, hoping that they’d act fast to grab the artefacts as a cultural priority, mainly to snub the Russians. They didn’t know about the Stasi mole funnelling everything back to Moscow, or that their Damascus network was wide open. We had some agents in place throughout, but I didn’t for a minute think we weren’t compromised in some way or another. And my code N sources were feeding back whispers from the cultists that they’d got a solid lead on the origins of the pieces and were getting ready to move. The whole thing was a murky mess, and I needed to clean it up. The only thing I knew for sure was that we needed to neutralise half a dozen people in the next 24 hours... but who?”

World War Cthulhu: Cold War throws you into one of the most paranoid and chaotic conflicts of the 20th century. The tangled webs of the spymasters tear and rejoin, double and triple agents make their moves and counter-moves, and it’s hard to be sure which side you’re really working for. Nuclear destruction hangs over everyone, and a few people at the heart of western intelligence continue their personal battle against the insidious influence of a much older enemy…

• A complete, historical espionage setting for Call of Cthulhu
• Packed with advice on running espionage Mythos investigations in the 1970s

Section 46 Operations Manual
World War Cthulhu : Cold War Supplement
By Cubicle 7 Entertainment

The line between spy and criminal is often so thin as to be invisible. A good spy needs to lie convincingly, break into places he or she doesn’t belong, forge documents, steal secrets, blackmail potential informants and, when all else fails, kill with ruthless efficiency. Above all, they need to evade capture while doing all these things.
Section 46 operates even further in the shadows than most intelligence organisations. Their activities are unsanctioned, their methods brutal and their enemies sometimes inhuman.

The Section 46 Operations Manual is a handbook for World War Cthulhu: Cold War players, designed to teach them how best to succeed and survive in this murky world of 1970s espionage, or at least how to delay the inevitable for as long as possible.

Blood in the Chocolate
Lamentations of the Flame Princess Supplement
By Lamentations of the Flames Princess

“Wouldst Thou Like To DIE Deliciously?”

The year is 1617, and the only thing on the minds of every noblewoman and aristocrat in Europe is CHOCOLATE. The act of eating this modest confection brings so much PLEASURE, it has become more prized than tea, spices, even liquor ... and it all comes from one place: LUCIA DE CASTILLO’s factory in northern Friesland.

This one businesswoman has Europe by the balls, and some will pay handsomely for the secret to her success. But Lucia’s factory isn’t what it seems to be. The horrors and cruelties that exist within its walls defy IMAGINATION ITSELF. Nobody ever goes in ... and nobody ever comes out!

BLOOD IN THE CHOCOLATE is a psycho-sexual romp that pits characters not just against their enemies, but against their own twisting, melting, inflating, or poisoned bodies.
This adventure comes from the imagination of Kiel Chenier (Dungeons & Donuts, The Hell House Beckons), brought to life by the lurid illustrations of Jason Bradley Thompson (Mangaka: The Fast & Furious Game of Drawing Comics, Dreamland).

An adventure suitable for low-level characters for use with Lamentations of the Flame Princess Weird Fantasy Role-Playing and other traditional role-playing games.

Plague Inc : The Board Game
1-4 players, 40-75+ minutes
By Ndemic Creations

Plague Inc: The Board Game is a strategic game of infection, evolution and extinction for 1-4 people, based on the smash-hit digital game with over 85 million players. Can you infect the world?

Each player is a deadly disease and they must battle against each other to spread their plagues, develop new symptoms and ultimately wipe out humanity.

Starting with Patient Zero, you spread your infection across the world by placing tokens in cities - earning DNA points and preventing other players from becoming dominant. Players choose which countries are placed on the board but you must be both climate resistant and connected to a country before you can infect it. Eventually, as countries become fully infected - you try to kill them using the Death Dice.

Each player’s unique pathogen can be upgraded by evolving trait cards onto an evolution slide (with DNA points). At the start, your disease is weak and unspecialised, so you will need to add new symptoms to make it stronger. Choose carefully and plan ahead in order to react to the changing world and exploit opportunities created by other player’s actions.
A simple nosebleed could accelerate things early on, whilst diarrhea will help you thrive in hot countries. Sneezing can infect new continents by air but Total Organ Failure would allow you wipe out multiple countries each turn.

As countries start to fall, use powerful event cards to alter the balance of power. You might try to eradicate a dominant player by bombing their diseased cities, or hold the Olympics to cause huge numbers of infected people to travel to a healthy continent.
When the world collapses, who will be the ultimate plague?

Pie Rats of the Carob Bean Farm
2-6 players, ages 10+, 30-45+ minutes
By Wild East

Once upon a time there was a farm that grew Carob Beans. Carob Beans are grown as a cocoa substitute and for their vitamin value. Like any farm, this farm had rodents living on it. To be honest, it was infested with rats. Lots and lots of rats. For generations these rats had been eating the Carob Beans.

The farmer had a beautiful wife that loved to bake. More than anything she liked to bake pies ...All kinds of tasty pies. As the hot pies came out of the oven she would put them on the window sill of their quaint little farm house to let them cool off and the sweet aroma of the freshly baked pies would waft across the whole farm.

One day one of the rats noticed the pleasing fragrance and followed it all the way back the farm house. There he found a pie sitting at the window’s edge. He tried and tried as hard as he could but being just a single rat he could not move that pie off the window sill.
Not wanting to easily give up he quickly ran off to get some of his fellow rats with the promise of a piece of the pie if they would help him lift it off the window sill and carry it away. They were successful! ...Very, very successful! Over time they learned that different pies weighed different amounts and that they needed more rats to take the heavier pies. The rats also started forming groups or “crews” to try and steal the pies. They were becoming competitive, even among themselves, in their attempts to steal these delicious treats.

In the human world news quickly spread of this odd phenomenon and they became know as...

The Pie Rats of the Carob Bean Farm!

In Pie Rats of the Carob Bean Farm each player takes on the role of a Captain of the Rats and tries to build a crew of not-so-loyal rats in an attempt to loot the farmer’s wife of as many of her pies as you can. The heavier the pie the more rats it takes to steal it, the more points it is worth. The Captain with the most points at the end of the game is the winner.

With Math Fluxx, the fun is exponential!

Magic Maze
1-8 players, ages 8+, 3-15+ minutes
By Sit Down!

After being stripped of all their possessions, a mage, a warrior, an elf, and a dwarf are forced to go rob the local Magic Maze shopping mall for all the equipment necessary for their next adventure. They agree to map out the labyrinth in its entirety first, then find each individual’s favorite store, and then locate the exit. In order to evade the surveillance of the guards who eyed their arrival suspiciously, all four will pull of their heists simultaneously, then dash to the exit. That's the plan anyway…but can they pull it off?

Magic Maze is a real-time, cooperative game. Each player can control any hero in order to make that hero perform a very specific action, to which the other players do not have access: Move north, explore a new area, ride an escalator… All this requires rigorous cooperation between the players in order to succeed at moving the heroes prudently. However, you are allowed to communicate only for short periods during the game; the rest of the time, you must play without giving any visual or audio cues to each other. If all of the heroes succeed in leaving the shopping mall in the limited time allotted for the game, each having stolen a very specific item, then everyone wins together.

At the start of the game, you have only three minutes in which to take actions. Hourglass spaces you encounter along the way give you more time. If the sand timer ever completely runs out, all players lose the game: Your loitering has aroused suspicion, and the mall security guards nab you!

The Campaign for Vicksburg 1863
2 players
By Turning Point Simulations

Vicksburg was the key. Holding it meant "holding the South together," with access to all the western men, food, horses, supplies... and Mexican ports. Holding it also meant the Mississippi River could not be freely used by the North, for transporting troops and supplies, nor by Midwestern farmers, for shipping exported goods. Can you, as the Federal forces, match U.S. Grant's finest campaign? Can you, commanding for the Confederacy, gather your scattered troops and create a force strong enough to punish Grant for his audacity?

This division-level hex-and-counter game includes Grant's Army of the Tennessee, facing off against the oft-at-odds Army of Mississippi of Pemberton and Army of Tennessee of Johnston.

The sweep and scope of the campaign are included, from Grant's Crossing at Bruinsburg to the finale (or not). Interesting side stories are included, like Grierson's Raid, the CSS Arkansas, and "that devil Forrest" and his part--or not-- in the grand campaign.

Looking forward to picking up Broodmother Skyfortress. Jeff Rients’ blog, while less frequently updated these days, remains a treasure trove of OSR inspiration and weirdness.
