Hellscapes
5th Edition Setting
By Scrivened LLC

Living is hard, now that society has fallen. We used to complain that our lives were boring. These days, every moment is a struggle. Every meal is earned. Every breath is precious. Dangers roam the landscape, both human and worse. Few survive, and numbers dwindle. Those who manage to live long are legend, hardened heroes or monstrous villains. You are among them.

Your canteen, your weapon, your food: these are the most precious treasures in the world. But once you reach our level you might start wanting more, the whispered wonders yet to be uncovered. Secrets of old ready to come back into the harsh light of this fallen world.

Will you plumb those depths and scour the wastelands for what we’ve lost? Will you band together with fellow survivors, watching each other’s backs in the treacherous night? Will you lend a blistered hand to rebuilding society in this hell of a world? Or will you break what is left of it, and remake it anew?

HELLSCAPES is the beaten and battered manual you need to run post-apocalyptic survival games. We’ve scavenged the noble bones of Dungeons & Dragons 5th edition, reworking its lightweight materials into twisted mechanics to serve our needs. We bastardize classes into those that suit the wastes, allowing for new and dangerous heroes to arise. We’ve repurposed the raw materials of Feats and Backgrounds to reflect the storylines of hardened scavengers. We recast Races into Origins, allowing you to customize tribes, mutations, and robotic enhancements to suit the hellish campaign settings you choose.

Need a game where society collapses as the dead rise to consume the living? Want to see how you’d fare against the unblinking gaze of robotic overlords? Hope to lead the uprising of a human resistance against alien conquerors? We’ve got the system for you.

HELLSCAPES includes all the post-apocalyptic baddies your DM needs to tear you limb from limb, leaving more food for those who remain. Just kidding, we’re sure you’ll make it tough guy.

Cepheus Engine RPG
Core Rulebook
By Moon Toad Publishing

The Cepheus Engine RPG comprises the core rules for a Classic Era Science Fiction 2D6-Based Open Gaming System. Inspired by the original three books of the oldest 2D6-based science fiction roleplaying game, the Cepheus Engine system incorporates elements of Open Game Content from previous releases of that game of intergalactic drifters and wanderers to create a basic system that will allow players and Referees alike to create their own science fiction universes or play in the ones they are already familiar with.

You'll find the core essence of your favorite sci-fi game here. You can explore interstellar space, make a ton of Credits on speculative trade, find yourself halfway across the sector after a serious misjump, or blow people up with your mind, if you can find training. You can even die during character creation. This stand-alone manuscript provides all the rules you need to play the game. The Cepheus Engine rules were intentionally designed to integrate well with other 2D6-based science fiction gaming systems, especially your favorite Classic Era modules and supplements. All of the material in the Cepheus Engine rules is considered Open Game Content.

Something Rotten in Kislev
Warhammer Fantasy RPG 1st Edition Campaign (The Enemy Within Part 4)
By Cubicle 7 Entertainment

Something is rotten in Kislev. Beastmen are raiding, killing and burning. The dead are walking the streets of remote cities, and entire colonies are rejecting the Tsar's rule. But are these mysteries linked, and if so, how?

Sent by Graf Boris of Middenheim to 'help' the Tsar, the adventurers will find themselves contending not only with undead and beastmen but also with ghosts, elite Hobgoblin warriors, creatures of Chaos and strange nature-spirits - plus the Kislevites, who can be less than friendly, as well as puzzles, dilemmas and ominous curses to occupy their minds and keep them in trouble.

Something Rotten in Kislev contains three linked adventures that can be used separately, as a Kislev campaign, or as a part of 'The Enemy Within' series. The book also has full information on the nation of Kislev, its peoples, culture and its history, as well as local religion and spirit-worship. Also included are many hand-outs and maps, plus great art and six pre-generated PCs.

This PDF reissues the Hogshead Publishing Edition of Something Rotten in Kislev. We’ve painstakingly scanned every page, and created a PDF that maintains the appearance of the original. This does make for a slightly larger file than we’d normally produce, but on this occasion, we think it’s worth it for all the great First Edition feel! The PDF is also extensively bookmarked for ease of reference.

This PDF includes the book, and a large format scan of the poster map included with the Hogshead edition. One side featuring a battle map, the other two locations from the adventures.

Harlem Unbound
Call of Cthulhu/Gumshoe Sourcebook
By Darker Hue Studios

Harlem Unbound is an RPG sourcebook for Call of Cthulhu and GUMSHOE that takes players into the exciting world of the Harlem Renaissance at its height, to face terrifying horrors from the Lovecraftian Mythos. This groundbreaking tome gives Keepers and players everything they need to bring this unique place and time to life, and engage with the people who gave it its soul.

Harlem Unbound is compatible with multiple systems for investigating the Mythos on New York City’s jazz-soaked streets using either Chaosium’s Call of Cthulhu 7th edition RPG or any of the GUMSHOE powered investigative RPGs by Pelgrane Press.

PICTURE THIS...
New York City in the 1920s: Prohibition is in full swing, and bootleggers are living high. African Americans flee the oppressive South for greener pastures, creating a new culture in Harlem. The music of Fats Waller and Duke Ellington pours out of the city’s windows and doorways, and the sidewalks are crowded with women in stylish skirts with silk stockings, and men in white gloves and Chesterfield coats. There’s a feeling of possibility in the air, like never before. But even in this land of promise, Harlem is a powder keg. While classes and cultures collide, Lovecraftian horrors lurk beneath the streets, creeping through dark alleys and hidden doorways into the Dreamlands. What Great Old One shattered our reality? Can you hold it together and keep the Mythos at bay for one more song?

This sourcebook flips the standard Lovecraftian view of minorities on its head, putting them in the role of heroes who must struggle against cosmic horrors while also fighting for a chance at equality. By default, the protagonists of Harlem Unbound are African American, not white (which is the standard assumption found in Lovecraftian fiction). Our heroes and heroines come from all walks of life with regard to class, ethnicity, race, religion, gender and sexual orientation.

The heart of the Renaissance was a revolution aimed at changing the world through art, ideas, and the written word. It was a uniquely powerful movement against the unjust status quo, a time in history that still inspires today. The history, people and stories in this book shine the spotlight on the people of Harlem, their successes and their struggles.

Viscid
Delta Green Scenario
By Arc Dream Publishing

Even death has a half-life.

Two days ago, a newspaper delivery driver found retired geneticist Tibalt Grieves dead outside his suburban home. Police found Grieves’ girlfriend dead in the house. A detective discovered a hidden lab, outfitted with bio-hazard scrubbers. A CDC specialist found unidentifiable samples—samples that indicated that something had gotten loose. When the sun rose, Grieves’ body began to smolder and disintegrate.

It was another five hours before Delta Green got involved.

In Viscid, the Agents must keep a lid on a story that threatens to spin out into the public in all its unnatural detail. They must delve into the secrets of strange and lethal forces acting in secrecy all around them. They must follow a trail of carnage to a horrifying communion.

As far as Delta Green is concerned, staying alive is the last of their priorities.

Music From A Darkened Room
Delta Green Scenario
By Arc Dream Publishing

PLACES, LIKE PEOPLE, GO WRONG

They turn off the path and head into the shadows, becoming something other than normal. Black places filled with blank rooms, closed doors, and empty hallways lined with dust. In these places your voice catches in your throat, the air seems to hum, and bad things happen. People get hurt. Objects vanish. Misery flows like the water from the loose faucet in the bathroom. Hate hangs in the air like old paint. It smells of time and circumstance, and something just a little beyond the world. It smells like surrender.

The house at 1206 Spooner Avenue is a place gone wrong. In the last 50 years, 18 people have died there, and you can feel it. Doors in 1206 Spooner Avenue stay shut, and no one ever hears a child’s laughter at night. In the hours that stretch like taffy after two, no one ever hears music from a darkened room.

By IDW Games

Based on the fan-favorite Nickelodeon animated series, The Legend of Korra: Pro-Bending Arena is a two-player competition of wits, tricks, and speed as players take control of Republic City's favorite sport.

Focusing on the rivalry between the Future Industries Fire Ferrets and The White Falls Wolfbats, The Legend of Korra: Pro-Bending Arena has two players each taking control of a team, drafting card decks for their benders, then playing cards to place elemental tokens around the board in an effort to overwhelm their opponent. As in the show, pro-bending matches are a game of push and pull, with an objective toward being the team that has either advanced the farthest forward, or completely knocked their competitors out of the ring.

The game play of The Legend of Korra: Pro-bending Arena is closely modeled after the popular Pro-bending sport featured in the first season of Avatar: The Legend of Korra. As such, the game is designed for 2 players, each controlling a team of 3 benders: earth, fire, and water.

The objective of the game is simple: be on the other team's side of the arena when the game ends and you will be victorious, or dominate the competition, pushing all their benders off the back of the arena to end the game immediately and claim the championship as yours!

Atari’s Missile Command
3-6 players, ages 14+, 30-45+ minutes
By IDW Games

As global tensions mount, leaders of powerful nations sit ready to defend their people or destroy their enemies. Alliances are formed, yet fragile. Deals made, but not always upheld. Diplomacy is just as important as strategic planning and procuring armaments. The missiles are at your command and the choice if yours: fire on your enemies or betray your allies in Atari's Missile Command.

In Missile Command, 3 to 6 players venture into the world of the classic arcade game. Each player builds and deploys their supply of Missiles, Nukes and Interceptors on a mission to destroy as many enemy cities they can, while trying to protect their own.

Each round, the players can negotiate with each other, forging temporary alliances and truces, or trading funds and Missiles. Then, they secretly plot their attacks behind their Radar Screens. Finally, they reveal their attacks, and destruction rains down from the skies!

In the end, the player who can best protect their cities while destroying their opponents' wins the game!

Holy crap, who opened the floodgates! All these releases were for March?? I don’t see this much except for Gencon.

The family-history mechanics alone make Legacy: Life Among the Ruins sound interesting.

Hellscapes sounded like an interesting 5E variant... until I realized it's by Ryan Chaddock, who's been accused of sexual assault. Pass.

Appreciate the reminder to check out Harlem Unbound.

Seeing Freedom City 3rd Edition just makes me sad. My former favorite company, Green Ronin, may say things that sound good, but they apparently haven't learned a damn thing from what they did last year.

I'd be interested to hear reviews of the Pro-Bending Arena game. My gut suspicion is the mechanics would be pretty abstracted, but I'd love to be wrong.

Ha, a Missile Command board game?? ...OK, that could actually be interesting.

The Gardens of Ynn sounds interesting and I might get it (also it's cheap).

I've been wanting to run Legacy for some years now, though I never read the entire book, or any other Powered by the Apocalypse game, but I'm on the last chapters of Dungeon World and now that I got the hang of the system, I might try either Legacy or Tremulus.

You should mention that Hellscape was written by a sexual predator, you would save us some time, because no matter how good a product is, sane people won't buy from these criminals.
