RPG Crowdfunding News 119: The Ssethregoran Empire, Elsewhere, Leagues of Cthulhu: Codicil, Island o

An epic and ancient serpent empire, a planar cyberpunk setting supported with a podcast, more Cthulhu goodness for Leagues of Cthulhu, a musical RPG, and a couple of old school adventures, plus a rundown of a host of campaigns wrapping up over the next week. Welcome back to our weekly roundup of tabletop RPG crowdfunding campaigns!

The Ssethregoran Empire 5th Edition by Henry Lopez
(Campaign Ends : Friday 16th November 2018; 14:08 UTC)

The second book is Paradigm Concepts Codex Geographica series for the Arcanis setting is an epic looking at the reptilian empire of Ssethregore, ruled by a race of serpent men and with a history spanning back over 7,000 years.

Written for 5th Edition the book explores the culture, religious views and life in this ancient nation, and the races that reside there, such as the ss’ressen, lizard men of different egg clutches red for specific tasks, the massive iguadons, aquatic pliesauran, winged ephamphoriles, the vermin-like kobolds and more!

Each of these monstrous races also include player character options, new spells, feats, and subclasses. For those playing the Black Talon ss'ressen, an entire chapter is devoted to the Pariah Egg-Clutches, with an in-depth look at their culture, history, religions, and more.

The Pariah Egg Clutches: A Player’s Guide is also offered in the campaign. This book compiles information that also appears in the core Ssethregoran Empire book, such as information on the Black Talon, Ghost Scale and Ashen Hide ss’ressen, along with the relevant rules and character options so players have easy access to everything they need, without being exposed to possible secrets in the core book and also allowing GM’s to keep sticky fingers away from their precious…

Elsewhere – A New Planar Cyberpunk Setting and Podcast (5E) by Marr Tirolesan
(Campaign Ends : Friday 9th November 2018; 02:47 UTC)

I backed Elsewhere when I first spotted it as I like the idea of a 5th edition “planar cyberpunk campaign”. The planned core setting book is 440+ pages which will be supported by a monthly podcast and eventually additional books.

Welcome to Elsewhere, center of the multiverse and throne-space of the most powerful beings the multiverse has ever known. Within this realm, the personified Ideals of the universe reside, resting upon the shoulders of their chosen vessels-- previously mortals, who have long since abandoned reality and its fetters to take up these Ideal callings. Under their guidance, universes change, the hearts of trillions of worlds shift, and all of the multiverse responds to their crooning; it is here, in the realm of Elsewhere, that these titanic forces can coexist, both monitoring and guiding all of Everywhere along their goals and purposes.

Elsewhere, an apt name for both the sector of space and the area in which it is located, is an incredibly vast and condensed realm with extremely contrasting landscapes. Eleven ringworlds of unfathomable sizes constantly orbit the center of everything; a vibrant, color emitting singularity only known as Continuity. This singularity paradoxically binds much of this universe together, and keeps Elsewhere both separate from the rest of the planes and utterly inclusive to them. Throughout the endless march of time, numerous societies and individuals which have supremely abandoned their purpose, or lost their way, will invariably find themselves drawn toward Elsewhere-- whether it be purposefully walking through a door where there used to be none, or taking an alley where they couldn’t quite remember there being one. Those that wander aimlessly without an end eventually find themselves here to find Chaos living alongside Order.

These creatures, alone, lost, and confused, were warmed by the light of Continuity and eventually formed villages, cities, and nations. Ever increasing in size, Elsewhere is endlessly welcoming of newcomers who bring with them their ways of life and colored histories. Though infighting and war tend to keep entropy at bay, Elsewhere has always been the battleground for the true forces of the universe, the Ideals.

No one remembers why the Ideals became or when; they just always were. Every so often, a mortal finds an artifact and is chosen by such an Ideal as a mouthpiece, to be molded and shaped into a union where the vessel both speaks and acts according to their combined will. These Ideals are endlessly fueled by the universal desires and hopes of all inhabitants of the multiverse, granting unfathomable power. It is rumored that the Ideal of Self is the only one of the Ideals who knows why it all happens-- but She remains silent, endlessly building Her virtual paradise for the Anima and their robotic kin in the Empty Cities of Her unending home.

Currently, there are three primary Ideals which command the attention of Elsewhere-- Power, with His bottomless hunger to fill the universe with the victims of mortality so that there will always be those that form and create; Peace, with Her dust and ash-filled prerogative to cause the eventual heat-death of the universe so that all life might perfectly know Her solace; and Dominance, who exists to bring an endless spiral of both motion and emotion so that entropy might be eternally dead. There are many other Ideals in the multiverse, but none as powerful as these three. Their endless struggles are titanic in scope, yet each have fear that should fighting break out among them directly, Continuity would intervene. Thus do they resort to using mortals as pawns in their grand machinations as each are locked within this small battleground, trapped and encircled by the Graveyard of Planes, the final resting place of abandoned worlds awaiting new life from Continuity.

The book also introduces new classes and races to 5th Edition and further books will look at converting existing classes over to the setting, supplying more information and backgrounds of some of the races of Elsewhere, and an Adventure Path.

Island of Blight, A Multi-System Fantasy RPG Adventure by Thom Wilson
(Campaign Ends : Friday 2nd November 2018; 22:00 UTC)

Island of Blight is the second part of a four book adventure series for 3 to 5 players using characters of low- to mid-level. The game is written as a multi-system adventure that can be played using OSRIC, 5E, and SRS.

The Red Priests of the Snake God suffered a crushing blow to their plans when they failed to take the small town of Thuil. Reeling from their defeat, they have returned to the deep jungles of Nolgur-Wul to regroup. The human villages outside the jungles know that it is only a matter of time before the Red Priests and their minions return. Now is the time to take the fight to them, deep within the jungles! The characters are urged to delve into the depths of Nolgur-Wul to track the Red Priests back to their clandestine temple where it is said a serpent queen, maiden of the Snake God himself, leads the growing cult. On the trail of the fleeing Red Priests, the adventurers find that a mysterious blight has recently begun to destroy the western jungles, villages, and all life within. What starts as a quick investigation becomes an unusual and deadly puzzle. More importantly, is this blight the Snake God's doing or something completely separate?

The adventure will be a 28-page booklet with a detachable cover with black and white maps on the interior.

Scherzando! By hamZardo
(Campaign Ends : Saturday 3rd November 2018; 20:29 UTC)

Scherzando! is a musical tabletop roleplaying game about things going explosively wrong in which you play both the characters and the soundtrack. It is a GM-less, diceless story game designed to be played in a single session by 3-7 players. You don’t need to own any instruments or know anything about music to play (although if you do, you can absolutely bring that to the table)—it’s a completely beginner-friendly game.

Scherzando! is setting-agnostic, so games can take place in radically different fictional spaces; in general, though, you’ll be playing characters with strong feelings and big dreams following their goals while the world around them goes to hell, sometimes literally. The game is often bizarre, outrageous, and funny, but always earnest, safe, and collaborative.
In addition to playing characters, you will also be playing music. You can do this by humming or tapping on nearby objects or using whatever sounds you can find around you. You aren’t worried about playing “correctly;” you’re trying to guide the emotional landscape of the scene. The structure of a scene is designed to ebb and flow around the music so that neither active players nor musicians can play the scene alone; the scene is directed in turns by the music and the characters.

The game will be printed as a perfect-bound softcover book in full color, chock-full of tables, helpful tips, and loads of art.

Wyrmkeep Dungeons TZ1: Raiders of the Cloud Castle by Wyrmkeep Entertainment
(Campaign Ends : Thursday 8th November 2018; 00:03 UTC)

Raiders of the Cloud Castle is a 5th Edition adventure for six to eight 8th to 10th level characters that can be completed in a single sessions play. It can be used as a challenging adventure to launch a new campaign or as a one-off.

The final entry in a ranger’s journal reveals clues to a terrible secret: wandering horrors from the sky have been ravaging secluded settlements all across the mountains and valleys of the Tanz in the last few years, taking all they can carry and enslaving those that survive the assault. The journal also has a prediction of which village will be the next target of attack: the faming community of Woods-end!

Quickly riders travel to nearby towns seeking those who would be willing to immediately lend assistance. Can a dignitary from Woods-end convince a band of adventurers to rise to the occasion (no pun intended) and make a preemptive strike against these Raiders of the Cloud Castle before all is lost?

The adventure will be between 16-20 pages and include over 16 encounter areas, atleast a couple of new monsters, maps of the cloud city and 8 pre-generated characters ready to use.
