Liminal is a new RPG by Paul Mitchener, just launched by Modiphius. It deals with "the boundary between the modern day United Kingdom and the Hidden World- the world of secret societies of magicians, a police division investigating Fortean crimes, fae courts, werewolf gangs, and haunted places where the walls between worlds are thin." UPDATE: The core book appears to have already sold out. ...

TBBT is a sitcom. Sitcoms are generally the same, just the characters change. There have been sitcoms featuring wartime medics, upper class toffs, pretty people in New York, and everything in between. The characters are always the butt of the joke. This time it was scientists. The fact that geeks finding scientists in the same mainstream sitcoms as everybody else gets them upset kinda...

No, thatís the opposite of what I just said. :) It literally just does what it says in that paragraph ó to benefit from higher quality equipment, you need an appropriate skill. You canít benefit from an exceptional quality pistol without enough ranks in pistols. Same with armour.

See Burst attacks on page 99. Area attacks use a single attack roll (in this case AGI (throwing) or similar) vs VITAL DEFENSE of all targets, and a single damage roll. Otherwise it is resolved just like any other attack roll.

The Swedish 1990's-set sequel to Tales From The Loop is now available from Modiphius. It's not like a car. It's much more subjective and much more of an art. You can directly and objectively measure a car's horsepower or weight, but you can't do that with an RPG. I don't think anything can substitute for actually trying the thing. All the graphs in the world won't give you a sense of how you feel when you play the game.

The nomination is for a supplement, Conan the Barbarian. Phrolian Gardner did that cover. He's finishing another for us right now. However when we were judging, we selected the one by Brom. I guess there's either an error, or they changed things after I left. *shrugs*

It's only spelled as Hyboria in Howard. We just had typos. Also, it's really Hyborian Age or Hyborian Kingdoms. There is no "Hyboria" on a map. The continent is the Thurian Continent. The latter is a commonly confused issue, though. I believe my autocorrect changes it to Hyborea sometimes, too. It doesn't help that Howard has a kingdom named Hyperborea among the Hyborian Kingdoms. :)

OK. I have acces to or am working on Conan, John Carter and Infinity RPGs. JC may not be ready by Oct. The other two should be in playtest (Conan is going into Beta from Alpha now). Dust Adventures will be out soon. Juts let me know. They all seem like viable candidates to me. I'd run whichever one rocks your world the hardest.

Ruins of Hyboria is a great resource. Exactly my choice. They also did Ruins of Glorantha in the same style. Excellent product.

I can run something else, if you think it will boost attendance. Dust Adventures will be out by then. Or something older. I'm pretty open if you have a suggestion. This may sound like a cop-out, but I'd consider running a beta-playtest manuscript from a major publisher that's tied to a well-known property an exception to the rule. Also, I'm just saying: let's give the published games priority for now, just stand by. I have a feeling we'll have room for everything in the end.

It's not a bad idea, Bob. Not up to us though. I'll mention it to Chris though. I hope Chris likes the idea. If you guys make it easy for me to use Mongoose Conan rules with your adventures and supplements, I'll buy everything you publish. I won't need the main rulebook, since I won't be playing 2d20. But, if there are Mongoose Conan conversion books for everything else, supplements, adventures, what-not, I'll buy it. Because, I can use it in my game. Misfit Studios prints three excellent supplements for use with Mongoose's Conan game, and they are 100% compatible. I'm sure they do this only using the open Wizard's license (and they don't mention "Conan" in these books but instead call it OGL Barbarian. Note that the booklets have Mongoose Conan specific stats (stuff not seen in a normal d20 OGL book), like Base Parry and Base Dodge bonuses for character classes, complete Conan stats for shields, combat maneuvers, and the like. If they can do that, I'm sure you can make specif...
