Engineering is just a hop, skip, and a jump away as you were already at the rear end of the ship. Inside you are greeted by the comforting hum of the Nova Light ship reactor. Without much in the way of systems the reactor is currently in low power mode, but it looks like it was left relatively untouched by whatever scavengers stripped the ship. Skitter finds a functioning console for the...

Ships costs are abstract in Starfinder. At level 2 you will have enough BP to make the ship "functional" . It will just be a matter of working into the story how you get access to what you need, or coming up with a creative alternative.

There are some alternate access points but from what Skitter can ascertain when the blast doors along the hallway are engaged similar safety measures automatically block off the maintenance tubes. In the event of catastrophic damage this would help keep whole sections from venting air into space through the tubes, but it would take some work and time to rig them to function independently for the...

Shendra lets out a long sigh, not quite relief. She reshuffles her equipment back into place and briefly closes her fingers around the end of the wand Audrahni had given her. Not quite yet, she thinks to herself before letting go. "Let me do something for your wounds," she says to Michael, with only a slight quaver in her voice. Once he comes to her she says a few words and passes her hand over...

With a few commands you are able to get one of the blast doors along the hallway to close. That will give you some time to advance, though the enemy may decide on a change of plans as well.

There were two tactical semi-auto pistols and one hunting rifle, the latter of which came with an extra clip of ammo, as well as an mk i frag grenade. The pistol you grabbed had eight rounds left, the other one had seven, and the rifle had five (plus the six from the extra clip). They were not wearing armour of any kind, just environmental clothing.

There was a video with a couple of Paizo guys flipping through the pages of the Core Rulebook. I wonder if that is where the transcriptions came from, because if you are watching it in high resolution I think could probably basically read those pages.

She was always harsh, but I did not think she would sell any of us up the space lane so quickly..." she says trailing off. In any case Skitter is able to punch in a few things on his arm and...

Shendra goes absolutely still for about the space of a second, her eyes closing, and then she lets go of her spear and moves to unsling her crossbow. Her hand reaches towards her supply of bolts and only then do her eyes open as she places it in the groove and then quickly turns the crank to draw the string back.

Transferring ships functions to your custom rig takes a bit of doing but you appear to have been at least mostly successful. You were not, however, able to cut off other potential users from access to the controls. So what you do can still possibly be circumvented by other users with root access. "That psycho and her pet android too," growls Gistanne through gritted teeth.

What work does "urban" actually do in "urban fantasy" ? A city is mostly a place where rural fantasy traditions congregate and mix. The system should only ever be described as modern or contemporary fantasy. The "urban" is merely a setting.

Kaodi, having looked up those options, sounds good to me, I like it. Shayuri, yes, the Romans pulled resources out of Britain about 200 years before the time of this setting, leaving Romanised Celts who gradually lost most of the Roman influence without continued traffic with the Empire,of which the Western portion is now ruled by the Visigoths who sort of consider themselves heirs to the Empire but again pretty much follow their own culture. As far as druids go, I think we are safe coming up with our own interpretation. Something that might be relevant to both characters - it is 100 years or so since the Battle of Camlann and the death of King Arthur; Merlin vanished some years before that and Morgan the Fey some time after, but both figures would be important influences in the world of magic and fey, if you wanted to include them in your background.

I don't need permission to send you back to your goddess, weakling! Meet Deathwail, know your death." Edmond performs the same trick he used moments ago, but without Irori granted insight, daemon remains on his feet. Still Deathwail scores shallow wound. 1d20+13=0 - ERROR! Improved Trip; Attack vs AC; damage (1d20+13=19, 1d20+11=23, 2d4+6-2=6) - lowest damage possible! :( Note: I'm channeling next round, if you have anything that can reduce lightning resist or SR or lower fort save, cast it. Bless would be useful if you get time from healing me, Kaodi. Mowgli, grease if you have it? Stunning fist? The priest next to him moves across abd reaches over the catwalk, dipping the tip of his scythe into the vat of nastiness. He swaps places with the priest who was blinded by Manachan's spell, who has now shaken it off and who moves to Rolth's side, healing some of the necromancer's injuries with a spell. The three other priests move forwards with their sycthes. One slashes at Ignatius, another rushes towards Manachan. Both draw blood. Although he has the advantage of height, the third cultist has trouble getting past Edmond's reach and fails to connect. 56035 Rolth - casts spell but fails concentration against damage. P1 - move north, dip scythe. P2 - move, attack Ignatius, hit for 9 damage. P4 - move, attack Manachan, hit for 9 damage. P5 - 5 ft. step, attack Edmond, miss. P6 - makes save, move, cast spell. Kaodi, you can read the spoiler block for Mowgli above, since Ignatius made his Spellcraft check too.

Been two weeks and I have already forgotten: In what ways does Kylo Ren attack or harm his own allies in the movie? During the two violent outbursts I remember, he basically hacked up a room with a computer board and he hacked up the interrogation chamber. And in the latter case, there was a Stormtrooper involved who Vader probably would have force choked to death. I agree, Kylo handles his anger better than Vader. Sure, he vents in a violent fashion, but he doesn't kill the messenger. I think Kylo also shows maturity in his dealing with his weakness and doubts about the dark side. He talks about this with his mentor, gets advice, and ultimately overcomes the problem by killing his father. Vader hides and bottles his feelings. They get the better of him, leading to his own failure.

In my experience few separatists are so practical as to share your position that Quebec must take responsibility for its share of the debt. Most think they can shirk it because of the tomfoolery of legal entities. I would appreciate if you would at least forcefully convince your brethren of the error of that way, ;) . I've never heard this position from anyone. Ordinary citizen, politicians or intellectuals.

Not sure how true that is yet. World has steadily gotten less violent. Sounds kind of better to me. Not that that is guaranteed to keep happening in the future. But the important question to ask really is under what circumstances most people on Earth will wish they had never been born. Greater disparity between the rich and poor in developed nations. Higher taxes on the dwindling Middle Class (however you define that) to make up for the taxes we're no longer taking from the truly wealthy. The resurgence of religious extremism. The Balkanization of nations.

I did not say screw tomorrow. I said tomorrow does not intrinsically deserve better than today. Why should today pay off today's and yesterday's debts so that tomorrow can be free of worries? Why does today deserve to get screwed by tomorrow? Perhaps it doesn't deserve better, but it certainly doesn't deserve worse. We're giving the future a worse starting point than we had.

I am not sure there is much point to paying off loans that you can carry. We always talk about making sacrifices for the future but I think it is actually philosophically weak to presuppose that the future deserves better than the present. Especially since those people in the future are determined by what we do in the present. . . Is that not how Greece thought in the past. Borrow as much as you can for today, and damn tomorrow as it will be someone else problem. As this last year has shone, tomorrows problem can to ahead this year. No, thinking of only today and not tomorrow is a bad way to run anything. You have to consider BOTH. Which sadly, during any election campaign, the politicians only talk of TODAY, and not how tomorrow it is the taxpayers who will get screwed in the end.

I am not sure there is any topic so likely to lead directly to me being suspended as the Canadian election. Have you noticed we already have one poster who will not vote for Trudeau because of his last name and another poster who complains that he only got the job because of his last name? I mean, Jesus Christ. I was a Liberal and quit the party during that leadership race but as far as I am concerned nepotism applies to behaviour both for and against and both are equally intellectually bankrupt. If you cannot even be bothered to come up with a reason not to vote for Trudeau that does not centre on his name being Trudeau do us all a favour and quit watching politics now and leave the adults to make the decisions. I know a fair number of people in your neck of the woods who feel exactly that way. Mention Justin and all they see is his father. Won't even listen to him speak to know if he bought a vowel, or is out to lunch.

Having a group of gamers be transported to the Forgotten Realms and suddenly become the heroes is way too meta and cheesy, even if most of us have fantasized about something like that now and again. It's also been done/is being done and is purposely meta, and cheesy. It's pretty much the plot of "The Gamers IV" and the reverse was done in the first "The Gamers" movie.

  • 09:55 PM - Ryujin quoted Kaodi in post The United States of Europe
That is a semantic game no one is going to win any points on. There is simply no straight comparison between the term American and European. I do not think there even is a widely used term to refer to all people from the Americas. Such as why the games being held in Toronto as we type are qualified as the Pan-American games. I mean, calling us all Pan-Americans is comprehensible, but not popular. Certainly rolls off the tongue better than "New Worlders" though. You want 'em? Those games are messing up my commute and I think that Gautier would relish the chance to rent out Shannonville for track and cycling events ;)

Good, most of my ancestors were the British variety of European. So there is a version of "us" that includes me, though it is rather larger than 65 million, ;) . I don't know you, so I'm going on a limb when I say this but: nope. You're American. We do not include you in that 65 million. That is a semantic game no one is going to win any points on. There is simply no straight comparison between the term American and European. It was just a joke. I don't seriously think Argentina and Canada are the same place. Similarly, the UK, Russia, and Greece are not remotely similar. I mean, calling us all Pan-Americans is comprehensible, but not popular. Is it OK if I brand you all as "silly" for thinking so? Seriously, though, cultural identity is an issue of self-determination and *really* important. You can't look on from the outside and proffer opinion. Well, you can, but it holds no weight any more than my opinions on your culture do.

Should Morgan Freeman as God really be grouped with the rest of that stereotype? I mean, Morgan Freeman as God is specifically a counter to a different racist phenomenon: only white people can be God. I'll give him a pass on that...but not everyone does, in part because of the way God is written in those films. (Personally, I think they're going a little too far with that analysis, but...)
  • 08:21 PM - delericho quoted Kaodi in post The United States of Europe
I can understand why Britain might feel distant in terms of psychology from the mainland, but I will always regard the notion that Britain is not part of Europe as just silly. Almost nobody thinks of us as not being part of Europe, since that's just a matter of geography. But that's rather different from not wanting us to be part of the EU, which is just a political entity. Indeed, Switzerland are considerably more central in Europe, but not part of the EU.
