Patrick Stewart sounds older than he does currently in real life, and Spiner has been de-aged. Interesting! Reports also say Riker is in it. I knew he directed some of it, but apparently he’s actually in it. I hope there isn’t too much focus on the Romulan stuff. With Nemesis, and the Abrahms Trek reboot, I’m kinda bored of what wasn’t a very interesting plot thread in the first place. I’m...

I really don't understand what your point is, and it seems to change with each post. My interest in the conversation (such that it was) has expired as it's gong nowhere interesting, but I'll reiterate that if you want to see original movies, there are tons of them every year, and they're awesome and available to you. If your requirement for them is that they have to be blockbusters, then I guess...

Again, why does it matter to you that films be blockbusters? There are lots of non-blockbuster films every year. They are great. Go watch 'em. They're still making them, plenty. There's no "fault" to assign. Nothing is wrong. Blockbusters are there, small films are there. Watch either, or both, or whatever.

What's with your obsession with blockbusters? Does a film only count if it's a blockbuster? So? Go see them if you think you'll like them. You're not an investor. If your requirement to see a film is (a) it be original, and (b) it must be a blockbuster then you're only hurting yourself. Otherwise -- go see the films. They're there.

I dunno if this thread covers it, but one of the reasons I liked PF1 was it’s broad compatibility with 3.5 and 3.0. Not only adventures and monsters but even splatbooks and classes. In fact it was MORE important at the time. I looked at other games but it was among the best for backwards compatibility. PF2 in the playtest was far from that kind of ideal, as far as I could tell. And I haven’t...

I was thinking about that very thing earlier today. That’s an artifact of using average rolls rather than the Judge rolling for the monsters. If the Judge rolls, you’d need a monster with 19d6 in its Defense skill (which doesn’t exist) to make it impossible to hit by a starting character. I like the average rolls because it makes play really fast, but you do lose that randomness. One...

By the same argument fighting, shooting, and defence are al forms of combat. Any skill list can be pared down indefinitely until you just end up with “skill”, but I do feel those two things are different enough. I wouldn’t want the average orc to charm somebody.

Yeah, if you were racing the dragon or it was chasing you. Flight v Athletics. Phew! You escaped! Appraisal just figure dragons can count their gold hoard, so they can make a check to value stuff.

50/50 is the chance most people get for most things — it’s the standard difficulty. You have a 50/50 chance to pick a lock, bust down a door, shoot most things, etc.

According to WotC, talking to Bloomberg, 40 million people play D&D annually; 9 million watched D&D on Twitch in 2017; and sales increased by 41% in 2017 and 53% in 2018. UPDATE! WotC's PR agency has reached to note that Bloomberg's figure refers to the number of people who have played the game since 1974, not annually! You can find this information and more in this article over on...

Simply6 is a fast, light tabletop roleplaying game for 2 or more players which you can play using just six-sided dice. I put this together over the last couple of days in my spare time (based on something I was playing with in the forums a while back) and have uploaded it to DTRPG. It's only about 20-pages long, and will likely be tweaked and updated after I get some feedback.

What I'd love to see is the living 15 year plan. I think that it's changed some since the next playtest, but I think many of the things that were in it have come to pass. Also I'd love to know the things that have come to pass that were not in it.

I do notice a marked difference during the "playtest" period of pf2 vs Next. At least anecdotally and from what I can see from others. I for one was excited for the next playtest and anticipated every drop. There was a TON more traffic, mostly positive or hopeful or constructive in it's criticism. Sure there were a lot of things I didn't like and things I loved that were nixed or modified to far...

Introduction:
We play every Saturday for a few hours.
About Me:
I’ve been playing RPGs for the last 17 years. I played a bit in high school but I didn’t really start to delve into it thoroughly until I was in my early 20’s. My wife and I have been hosting our gaming group for the last 7 years and have been gaming together for the last 10 years. I enjoy most aspects of RPGs and also most genres.

Professionally, I have been an editor for RPG products from Dog Soul Publishing, Behemoth 3, and Sammichcon Creations. One of the books I co-created and edited for Sammichcon Creations was nominated for an ENnie Award in 2008; Fire and Brimstone! (The Comprehensive Guide to Lava, Magma and Superheated Rock). I am also the Business Manager for the ENnie Awards.

Game Details:
Our group has been together for eight years now. At one point, we had eight members. With people going to school, taking breaks from gaming, etc, we are now down to a core group of four, which consists of myself (aged 34), my wife (32), and two brothers (one is 30 and the other 29) who have been with the group the longest. We are currently looking for a new person (possibly people) to bring into the group. We just started playing Pathfinder and I am DMing as well as playing an NPC to round out the group. We game at my house in Council Bluffs every Saturday from 3:30 pm to between 9pm and 10pm. We also have a 7 year old son, so if you wanted to bring your kid, they'd have someone to play with.

And I just got this from Mike Schley's site: As you may already know, the new D&D adventure Out of the Abyss sees it's worldwide release today. To celebrate, I've created a coupon for returning customers that can be applied to any digital downloads in the shop. Just enter the coupon code Removedduring checkout and get 15% off your entire purchase. Bonus: You can use it as many times as you'd like before it expires on September 30th. Sharing the dude's coupon sort of takes away his reward to repeat customers.
