  • 06:38 PM - Knightfall mentioned Psion in post Campaign Guide: Crow God PbP Game!
I tried to post the 'shout out' below on a Kulan campaign group recruitment post. Little did I know that mentions don't work in the campaign groups. Oh well, I'm posting it here, regardless. Shout out to World of Kulan campaign group membership, regarding the recruitment post linked above: A'koss, Arkhandus, Big Mac, Clay_More, CleverNickName, Evilusion, freyar, Hand of Evil, Hobo, jaerdaph, Jürgen Hubert, marketingman, Piratecat, Psion, Relique du Madde, Scott DeWar, steeldragons, the Jester.

  • 10:04 AM - Knightfall mentioned Psion in post Which of my continents do you want more information about?
For Piratecat, Psion, and steeldragons: I just created the first page of my player's section for psionics: Psionics (on Kulan) Now, on Janardûn, psionics reign supreme, so there isn't much need for the variant 'spells', although they do exist. The variant psionic powers that affect magic were likely first developed on Janardûn (or maybe on Ryaith). Also, any character from Janardûn that doesn't have a psionic character class still has the potential to be a wild talent. Psionics are completely ingrained into the makeup of the continent. A character without any psionic ability at all is often treated as a second-class citizen. Psionics on the Other Continents The Fallenlands: Psionics are uncommon on the Fallenlands. The races know of it and most accept it, but it is unusual for a community to have more than a few with the ability to use psionics. There is very little stigma attached to psionic power in the Fallenlands. The most common psionic class for the Fallenlands is Wilder. Lands of Harqual: Psion...

  • 08:35 AM - Knightfall mentioned Psion in post Which of my continents do you want more information about?
This blog post is for Piratecat and Psion... Voted! FYI... I've been doing some revising of the continent map for Janardûn. I think I'm nearly finished revising rivers and tweaking terrain. Once it's finalized, I will upload the revised map to the campaign group and link it to the wiki. But, if you want something relatively new regarding then read this snippet that I posted over on The Piazza back in August. Janardûn has always been a challenge for me to move forward with. Trying to come up with a solid premise for such an isolated land that is dominated by psionics has always seemed to allude me. There is very written about it that isn't already on my (old) wikipage or on the old EN World thread. And some of the info on that thread is a bit out of date, especially the deity information. The concept of psionic knights is an important one for the continent. In some ways, the Insightful Order of the Republic is to Janardûn what Jedi Knights are to the Star Wars universe. But that is rough comparison, at best. The co...

  • 04:22 PM - Mallus quoted Psion in post So... Traveller... tell me about the cool things you've done with it
We never did play Traveller. :( Heh... we'll never give up, never surrender! i.e. keep rolling until we get PCs who aren't a) dead, and b) too infirm from old age! Ran quite a few fun yarns as well. Here's one I wrote up over on rpg.net: https://forum.rpg.net/showthread.php?432775-Mongoose-Traveller-Mini-AP-for-players-new-to-Traveller Thanks for the link!

  • 02:28 PM - Celebrim quoted Psion in post Should NPCs Have to Follow the Same Rules as PCs?
See, to me, that's a "setting consistency and internal logic" thing, not a "fairness" thing. Yes, but it can become a fairness thing in several ways: For most of D&D's history, the statement "NPCs don't need to follow the same rules as PCs" was used to justify techniques for disempowering PCs. For most of D&D's history, the NPCs were consistently more special in small or great ways than the PCs and tons and tons of justification was used for this. In my experience as a player, the vast majority of DMs are more often and more powerfully tempted to make their NPCs more special than the PCs than they are tempted to make their NPCs less cool and less special than the PCs. So we regularly see for example, "NPCs can create magic items; PCs can't.", "NPCs can use power of plot magic to build lairs or effect the game world; PCs can't.", "PCs are limited to a certain point buy NPCs aren't.", and in general, "PC's are limited by the rules; NPC's aren't." This can eventually reach the point...

Thread titles say Rel is running 13th age Saturday at 2. This thread says it's Friday at 2. I'm trusting the former is accurate?Correct. Hopefully, I've now fixed it. Holler with other goofs!
