[Acrobatics can be used, considering the distance, yes. It'd be like reducing damage from the fall, only a lot easier. I'll give you a DC 10 going down, plus the stealth bonus for darkness concealment. I'll count you as scout, as usual, giving info as you pass the test. As for the others, what are the preferred methods for going down - fog, ropes, feather fall or shifting?] KahlessNestor Shayuri MetaVoid Neurotic

... the heroes enter, two elfic maidens - one of them pregnant - leave the sick man to talk to the arrivals. Laying underneath covers they find the figure of a bronze-skinned elf, thin and tall by all accounts. His red hair is carefully combed and still wet, as if he had just bathed. He holds a noble visage, but his eyes are sunken and his arms, frail, stretched alongside his body. He receives the arrivals with a smile and a hopeful expression, forcing himself up as if to greet them. "They're here, Alanor. These are allies. They'll help, I'm sure." - Goliath's comical expression vanishes and the pixies fall silent for a second, still surrounding the satyr's head. "Thank you, my friend..." - the elf's voice is soft and old, so very distinct from his apparently youthful image - no more than forty years old. "I take it that Goliath has updated you on our predicament." - he pushes up, clearly trying to leave the bed in order to greet the heroes. @[I]Shayuri @jmucchiello @KahlessNestor @Neurotic

The ominous sounds of the working machine come to a halt as the companions decide their next actions. A pair of voices echoes in the dark, resembling whispers as they go. Around the walls, carved faces, inhuman and terrifying, shine a thin coat of water, aligned as relieves at the walls down. Marius and Morgrym can identify a few words coming from beneath, "cover blown" and "time to bleed the cattle" among them, followed by a harsh complaint on cavernous tones. "All levels can be reached by the round elevator located on the back of the pavilion. Access to the lower levels has been restricted, though, as a security measure. Access to the upper room might allow you to reprogram the elevator routes, granting access to the mainframe below." - Amberilan continues. "Also, the tram allows indirect access through the living quarters and the generator levels below. It has been deactivated, but it might be brought back into work by the panel above, as well, should you succeed in reaching it. Our joint efforts could allow me to retake control of such resources." But even for our standards some of us were growing agitated. Mostly, they mentioned dreams of a strange sort, related to a dark, seductive figure that seemed to call for them. The dreams wouldn't go away, and so some just decided to leave, seeking the strange creatures that now crowded their deepest thoughts. Others - the ones who didn't - grew increasingly aloof. Weakened, they simply feel to their beds, unable to complete even the simplest of tasks." - he finishes as the heroes reach the border of a massive, difficult wood. The satyr glances around and begins to uncover a path, slowly. "So, that's about it. Those who left did not come back, and those who stayed grew increasingly sick. We called you out because we were met with..." - he pauses for a second..."Well, I'll leave it to the arrival. You'll understand." @Neurotic @Shayuri @KahlessNestor jmucchiello

Ok, guys, sorry I left the last post hanging midway, but the trip crushed us both here, in a sense, lol. I've updated the map and the thread, so the busywork is avoided. Situation is presented with the moving elevator in the back of the tower and the Long Return still rolling with it's own motions. Women are safely placed under Arvana's care (and a good thing she gets out, too, since the last battle left her a bit hurt). Neurotic KahlessNestor MetaVoid Shayuri

...int, confusing voices can be heard in the distance, probably going down in the elevator's cabin. As for the carriage, it seems perfectly serviceable. The horses quickly calm down - somehow used to the noise and protected from the hooded creature that passed through a while ago. From the Long Return, only the usual noises come - the action was swift enough that no one would notice the companions' intervention. As Morgrym imagined, though, Arvana isn't too far. She decides to stay in the area, finding a covered area to settle in while she watches Adelia and the man. The women might as well stay with her.By the time everthing's been arranged, though, the elevator sounds are even further down the pit, no noise coming from the stores above. The machine can't be seen from the companions' height, but it can be heard as it descends, some 30 feet below by now, in the dark. Sooo, sugestive text aside, if it gets too heavy give me a shout. I aimed for a violent scenario, as you've seen. Still, we're here to have fun, not to torture ourselves. Also, Neurotic, the first time I read your answer, I thought you were talking about their odd behavior, not the fact that violent behavior is considered normal around here. That's why I winked and laughed. After re-reading it, I thought it was needed to clarify (otherwise it might seem as if... Well, you know.)

...he arrival leans towards a long shepherd's cane and carries a purse. "My, my... You sure are a quick lot, aren't you?" - the soft, humorous voice sounds as young as it did years ago. The hood falls back, revealing the face of a full grown satyr of golden hair and beard. His smile suggests satisfaction and happiness, despite the circumstances. Such is the typical posture of light-hearted goliath. "I'm glad all of you answered our invitation." - he says to the quartet, clearly seizing the ladies with particular interest. He then jumps down, falling slowly to the floor, right in front of Daxio. "And you, you old errant dog, you..." - he laughs out, loudly and heartily, as he embraces Daxio - "...the quickest of them all, I see! Come, now, care to introduce me to our lot... At least, formaly?" - he glances at the others with curiosity. Still, his somewhat errant eye keeps sliding towards the ladies, even though he seems to fight the impulse as he speaks. jmucchiello KahlessNestor Neurotic Shayuri

...the structure has been damaged by their passage, turning available data somehow outdated. Still, some images remain." - as she speaks, all sorts of schematics and images appear before the heroes. Maps repeat themselves, giving place to new ones, representing the circular structure of the Inner Sanctum. As for the specimens, three images are imprinted in everyones' minds, simply from their striking oddness: an ogre with infected skin and pustules in a crooked back, followed by goblins covered in viscous ooze; a moving corpse, gleaming green eyes, trapped within a bronze-like armor by tubes and cables. [I assumed you'd go for a full attack, given the situation. As for the moans, well... Maybe there's more to it than meet the eye, hehehe. ;)] With great speed and subtle moves, the companions launch an attack against the guards. Before they can react, the sudden discharge brings all of them down. Those blinded have no real means of defense, and the others aren't fast enough to react. The ladies feel reassured by Morgrym's presence, complying and following him to safety. Only the minor agitation of the horse calls for attention, and even that doesn't seem enough to bring other men towards the door. Neurotic KahlessNestor MetaVoid Shayuri

Neurotic, that's exactly the case. The strange plague oddly affects only those deemed heroes or important figures among the Fey allied races (elves and satyrs in this setup). The term 'plague' comes solely from the fact that several have been affected thus far.

Hagadark would hit most dwarves he can, that means G31 as primary target (of a touch attack - no armor and since they are flat-footed, no dex either :) ) save vs staggering for him. We aren't on the map, how close may I put Hagadark? :( - he just started after Marius so assuming the word companions as our original position we cannot even get into attack position (no line of sight) due to building and the chariot. Also, Neurotic, you cannot flurry without full attack.

...yes. "Poe, let's go," she says simply. The raven swoops down to perch on her shoulder and she makes ready to leave. "I can grant access to the upper levels. I still hold full authorization to work them around. If you wish to help, there is a task that demands complation, though. Strata under my control hold a few escaped specimens that managed to survive the intervention teams, or to otherwise enter the facility or the terraformed areas. I would appreciate if you could finish the intervention teams' activities, since their presence jeopardizes my operational cicles." - she continues, maintaining the same inhuman tones. Meanwhile, to Jocasta, <What is on the seventh floor that you're interested in? "The Teraphim's main database, containing their plans and the means to control this facility. If we reach it, we can stop hostilities around this complex once and for all, and maybe even ensure our own freedom." - Jocasta says with a clear, hopeful tone. ...ter the golden explosion, five of the rogue dwarves are blinded, moaning and screaming in surprise! The same happens to the dwarven women. They pull desperately, trying to free themselves from their captors, both unshaken by Shayuri's spell! The armored dwarf in the back also escaped the effects of the glitterdust, even though everyone is covered by the mixture. [EDIT: I had a traditional sample battle set up here, but screw it, let's try something different. KahlessNestor, give me your action. Should all your actions be enough bring down the opponents, you make the cut without sounding an alarm to every rogue in the vicinity. Otherwise, you trigger a reaction. Three dwarves can see, the others are blinded. Odds are you can bring them all down before they can do anything about it! This should be enough to roll the scene in a fair way and keep the pace. Good Luck!] MAP UPDATED https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ZBfqlZpct8SZ7vh_U_nqispO67s2ZXLunqhdY4dnNwI/edit#gid=1024332538 @Neurotic @MetaVoid @Shayuri @KahlessNestor

In the case of macroscopic contamination, standard procedure determines the deployment of decontamination teams, according to the nature of the threat. Quarantine areas are located at every level for your convenience." - the woman speaks out, in a professional, enthusiastic voice. How did she end up here, and what did it have to do with the bird? Signs are clearly scarce. Between the fog and the strangeness of this place, nothing that stands out serves to explain how did she end up here. Still, as Aanzu mentally repeats their steps throughout this odd dungeon, he recalls that Poe was closely followed by a crow right after they came down from the surface. With no other way down here, and no sign of the woman following their path before the doors behind them got shut, odds are that she traveled in the form of a crow, following the group. ...ach the companions, suggesting that the brothel has a full crowd tonight. The windows on the first store are barred with thick iron, but the second store holds unimpeded windows. Around the brothel and beyond the chariot, a small street opens up between it's closed door and a four-store tower, dug and build in wood and stone as part of the walls of the cave. The open door sheds light over the path, where an old rail can still be seen. There, four dwarven watchers stand guard, clearly answering to the commands of someone that just went past the passage and into the old mine. The decrepit man's cane can still be heard, moving further and further away while a crude male voice accompanies it. Suddenly, the brothel's door opens up. A pair of guards -an armored dwarf and a burly man - drag two dwarven women out. The women seem scared, broken and beaten, even beyond their natural strength. The watchers move aside, allowing the women and their captors to move quickly into the tower. Neurotic KahlessNestor Shayuri MetaVoid

...ergy cores working. A Fallen Star shatters above ground, covering large expanses and bringing annihilation to everything within its reach, turning the targeted areas unsuitable for further life development. "The Fallen Star triggered over Wellington and its neighbors is, by all accounts, the seventh to be employed during the lifespan of this station. Judgement determined that defensive measures were a necessity at the time it was launched, even though the final decision remained, to all effects, exclusively a Teraphim affair. The measures were taken as a response to aforementioned agressions, but reports from the commanding officer also mention a growing concern with uncontrolled populational development outside of mount Amberilan" - the entity answers, indifferent to the events described. She then proceeds to a gruesome description of the launch, as well as how the Fallen Star shattered during descent, in order to increase the area covered by what she calls 'starfires'. Come on, lead on."y The kid responds, "We... went to the teacups. It is a bit further. I'm sorry, this place frightens me. The singing from down below most of all." He does seem genuinely scared more than deceptive. Sorwheel leads you further down a back and forth twisting passage. A few other passages fork off from here at times. Protocol are pretty simple: - respect others and their right to play their characters - try to check once a day or so, post as you can - if you will be offline for extended period, announce it in advance - don't include actions of other PCs in your post that would assume their reaction Example: I describe throwing fireball over everyone foes and allies alike. And I say you jump aside and roll, paladin raises his shield etc...that makes your character roll aside (when you may want him to keep the flanking position and decide he would weather the fire as best as he can) On the other hand, try not to go on your own tangent because side quests for a lone wolf are hard to do in PbP because...well...duration, you make everyone else wait until that is resolved. It is possible, but you should talk about it beforehand. Sounds reasonable. I'm looking forward to getting my character done. Sent from my LG-D852 using EN World mobile app

As he touches down, he looks up and calls out "Wait for a bit before coming down, Thren!" He takes out his oboa and quickly weaves lively inspiring melody. Athletics check [roll0] Athletics check disadvantage [roll1] Edit: the bonus +5 is not applied to these rolls, since I doubt it will help. I'll keep it for an initiative check later, if applicable
