Well, that all looks good to me, both the weremako and error corrections. Is the weremako done after that?

Oh I guess filth fever is alright, just so commonplace. Still, I think the DC on red ache is too high, and the infection method for other diseases like mindfire is wrong. Lockbite looks pretty good. I'd go with the racial bonus for the grapple.

Sure, let's go with that tweak as you suggest but not "waste" sorc spells known with cleric spells she can cast anyway, unless we think she really needs to be able to cast a lot of a certain spell. For sorc spells known, are we ok with 1st level -- protection from law, ray of enfeeblement, shield, true strike, unseen servant 2nd level -- blindness/deafness, cat's grace, detect thoughts,...

Well, I was just wondering if maybe they needed more HD to match what their offensive capabilities sound like, but maybe fading is enough of a defense. Let's go ahead with abilities. Con would be 18 or 19 by the listed HD, and Str looks like 14-15 with the given damage. Dex is probably average. So something like Str 15, Con 18, Dex 11, Int 10, Wis 11, Cha 10?

In that case, I'd be happy with the versions of ferocity and morale that you have in post 1159. You could probably convince me of the boosted version, as well. ;) In fact, they can't use these too much, so let's just go with the boosted versions. Ferocity: A caprine with a resonance score of 1 or more can use music to inspire ferocity in its allies (not including itself), improving their...

  • 12:21 AM - freyar mentioned GrayLinnorm in post Converting Epic Level Creatures
He's epic, but he shouldn't be more epic than a demon lord or arch-devil. I also think the time-limiting business doesn't work with the adventure, since he should have popped out of his sealed room long ago (even if he were separately sleeping). And, directly to the point, the imprisonment spell is almost exactly what happened to him in the history of the adventure --- he was trapped underground (at least I think it's a dungeon) in suspended animation (enchanted slumber). And it's quite likely that the wizards/sorcerers/magic users who imprisoned him didn't included 17th level casters, so they had to work very hard as a unit to figure out how to cast such a powerful spell. Or something. I think we may have reached an impasse and need a 3rd party to settle this. Nookie? Echohawk? GrayLinnorm? Bueller? Anybody?

  • 04:36 PM - Ralif Redhammer quoted GrayLinnorm in post D&D's Going To The Barrier Peaks
Oh, those tiraphegs. They were so weird-looking that the party face, when the PCs first encountered them, could only manage a “Hello?” rather than his usual flowery speech. We teased him for months about that. I will say that Barrier Peaks would make for a heck of a campaign-sized module and corresponding AL season. But the only way I could imagine it not being total (possibly balance-wrecking) insanity would be if they changed it from a spaceship to a Spelljammer ship. One word: Tiraphegs.

Cartoonist Mort Walker, who created Beetle Bailey and Hi and Lois, died today. He was 94. From the Wikipedia: "Graduating from Northeast High School, he attended one year at Kansas City Junior College in 1942-43[12] before going to the University of Missouri. Walker's physical presence in Columbia is noted by The Shack, which was a rambling burger joint behind Jesse Hall on Conley Avenue." The location known as the shack was torn down about a couple of decades ago for a jewelry store and another alumni center on the UMC campus. It is sad, so very sad. They did put up a memorial

Jerry Lewis died today. He was 91. ...and Labor Day will never be the same. As a kid, I would scrounge the loose change lying around the house and talk my parents into driving over to the local TV station broadcasting his telethon to drop it off.

Dungeons and Dragons is bad fantasy? How many fantastic elements are in "fantasy" football? Pretty strange judgment to see coming from this source, isn't it? Or is "Tolkien scholar" on the list of desired qualifications for ESPN employees?

Alan Colmes of Hannity & Colmes died today. He was 66. My local newspaper included this Colmes quote with its article: People ask me, "Why don't you fight fire with fire?" You fight fire with water, not with fire. Alan was a person from left-of-center who could explain his reasoning (or try to), not just dissolve into an insult contest.
