  • 04:27 AM - Len mentioned Woundweaver in post Another W.O.I.N. campaign
    We've started our latest D&D campaign. It's a Pathfinder AP using W.O.I.N. O.L.D. rules. (Blame Woundweaver ) Everybody's talkin' 'bout the O.L.D. rules, funny, But it's still D & D to me.

To be clear, these errata apply to O.L.D. 1.2, right? We're due to start our O.L.D. campaign tomorrow, based on the 1.2 draft rules - this is timely! ( Woundweaver take a look )

  • 10:21 PM - Len mentioned Woundweaver in post This is it. Wish Us Luck!
I'm leaving soon for the last session of our Traveller campaign. Last week we hijacked a medical ship that we need to stop a nanobot plague that's ravaging the Sol system. Now we have two poorly-armed ships facing off against a military corvette, and we have to boost out of system and jump to hyperspace without getting fragged. This is it. All or nothing. Woundweaver and I could use any luck you can send our way. And may Go(r)d have mercy on us. ETA.

  • 03:22 PM - Len mentioned Woundweaver in post Dual wielding and Weapon size question
Given that all PC races are one of three sizes, another potential house rule fix is to eliminate undersized and oversized weapons as a thing and just use some appropriate smaller or larger weapon. The problem with that is that we've got a goblin with the Two-Hands! exploit who wants to dual-wield a sword and a spear (wakizashi and sibat, for preference). He needs to use "small-sized weapons" and "small-sized" for a goblin means a weapon with a listed size of Tiny. There's only one such weapon: knife/dagger. (Not counting firearms.) For anything other than a dagger, it'll have to be an undersized weapon. We'll probably end up using one of the rules Woundweaver posted above, I think it'll work out fine.

  • 10:17 AM - Morrus quoted Woundweaver in post Dual wielding and Weapon size question
Not really, since it begs the question why wouldn't every person buy an undersized weapon if it does the same damage as the regular sized weapon, costs the same, weighs less and is more concealable due to being a smaller size. If you want to make undersized weapons do -1d6 damage, go for it! It's your game! :)

    1. Oversized weapons add an extra d6 to damage, are undersized weapons supposed to remove a d6 of damage? It just states that An undersized weapon is one size category smaller and weighs half the regular weapon. I think you just answered your own question! :) 2. Dual Wielding: Under the description for weapon size it says: The size of the weapon (tiny, small, medium, or large) can be used to determine one or two-handed use of a weapon, eligibility for two-weapon use and more. But I don't see place where it says what the eligibility for two-weapon use? Can a human dual wield two medium weapons or does it require a medium and small or does weapon size not have any eligibility for two-weapon use anymore? You can use a weapon one handed if it is your size or smaller. 3. Does Weapon Synthesis stack with Dual Wielding to give 4 attacks? Weapon Synthesis states: When using any Eastern weapon, you gain one free unarmed melee attack whenever you make two weapon attacks. Dual Wielding sta...

  • 11:57 PM - Blackbrrd quoted Woundweaver in post Roleplaying since the 80s and I'm really tired!
Not sure I get the too many darned books comments regarding Pathfinder. To use the Pathfinder system you need the one Core Rulebook plus a Bestiary. Everything else is completely optional, such as their Advanced and Ultimate books, or their Gamemastery Guide. In fact you don't even need to buy any of the system books as the system books are available online for free on Paizio's Pathfinder PRD site. So from a financial perspective you can play the game for free if you wanted to or your wallet demands it. If your complaint is that there are too many setting books for Golorian that has little to do with the Pathfinder System as you can apply the system rules to any setting you want. In terms of playability and the fun factor of the PF system that's for each person to decide for themselves. I haven't played Pathfinder, but I do think the same way you do. If the game feels complete with just the PHB/DMG/MM I don't mind the splat books. I do also like systems that are a bit quicker reads than 4e whi...
