If you've been building your own set of Print & Paste dungeon terrain (or just want a couple of special doorways to liven up the battlemat) then this latest download might be of interest. And, as always, you can pick up the pdf file from DriveThruRPG.

They're home-made tufts again ...I do a few passes with 6mm static grass, and then another couple with 2mm (to give them two distinct sizes). Once they've dried, I then paint/blob on a bit of pva onto the longer grass, and sprinkle some 'flower soft' on top (it's something folks use when making greetings cards and the like).

I'm pleased to announce the release of the first set of terrain pieces to go along with the recent sci-fi tiles... ...and, as you can see, THIS PDF contains all the textures you'll need to put together a bunch of barrels, crates, and canisters (which can be used to build barricades, objective markers, scatter terrain, and so on) - the assembly instructions for which are found in the...

Good to see you trying out the new contrast paints (as I'm thinking of picking up a couple myself).

Kris Fantastic crawling claws! How'd you get the bone sticking out of the arm? None of the GW zombie hand sprues I've seen on ebay have that feature. Was it a custom job? Great look!

theMaDdi3 Wand of Paralisys - it requires an attack roll&it calls for saving throws without saying ST's characteristic! JeremyECrawford Wand of paralysis has an attack roll erroneously. It should be a DC 15 Con. save, as in the upcoming errata. KrisKoletar Can spiked armor only be used as weapon by Battleragers? Can you make a primary attack with it or just bonus? JeremyECrawford Only battleragers are trained in FR to use spiked armor effectively as a weapon, and only via their features GregorySSmith is a 5e Paladine immune from the Lycanthropy Curse? JeremyECrawford Paladins don't have a feature that makes them all immune to curses. Tavicz Does spells with "humanoid" target affect creatures with "giant" type, though they are not "humanoid" types in the tag? JeremyECrawford A spell or other effect that targets a humanoid only affects a creature that is of the humanoid creature type. #DnD Mattwilljackson What happens if a grappled creature (or the initiator) teleports? (Benign Transposition, Shadow Step, other?) JeremyECrawford Being grappled ends "if an effect removes the grappled creature from the reach of the grappler" (PH, 290). #DnD

@kam2112 does a barbarian add his rage bonus damage to an offhand attack? @JeremyECrawford Yep! @gaaran00b : I heard from a friend that Bladelocks can make ranged weapons. Is that true? @JeremyECrawford Pact of the Blade lets you make a melee weapon (PH, 107). @KrisKoletar Does a "melee spell attack" count as a "melee attack" for Touch of Death (i.e. Spiritual Weapon)? @JeremyECrawford A melee spell attack is, indeed, a melee attack and can qualify for the Death cleric's Touch of Death feature @TheSTalkingwolf Why are the new rules so concerned about the pace of the game isnt that set by the players? Maybe they like a slower play? @JeremyECrawford Pace is, indeed, set by each group. In play, it's easier to slow down a lean system than to speed up a bloated one.

Those are some great 3D prints. They painted up really nice. I keep saying I need to get into 3D printing, but I have neither the space nor the money at the moment :( Just get your friends to 3D print them for you! Lot shorter learning curve  I have two players in my group with 3D printers. They just print stuff to see how I will paint it up. Plus, they get to see it used in the campaign of course. The Bullywugs were done on a liquid resin printer.

I've finally managed to get a bit of painting done: These are three more reaper bones ...and this is the first time I've used the paints from my Army Painter 'mega paint set' (which I bought last year) I wanted to test them out* before the Bones 4 kickstarter arrives in the not too distant future. And if anyone is interested in my opinion on the paints, I think they do the job well enough ...though I have to say, they are a bit of a pain to use (i.e. you really need to shake/mix them a hell of a lot before use). *as I'd only used (and liked) their washes and metallics prior to this. I love your game. :)

I've still not got much painting done (I really need to do something about that) ...but this kinda counts as a miniature... ...and I'll be using it as an animated book swarm in an upcoming adventure I'm planning :) You should have your own miniatures and terrain imprint company ...

As always, it depends on the game/situation. But I think they work quite well for the kind of thing I ran yesterday :) They did indeed. For the others reading the thread, Kris is running a side game in our gaming sessions called 'Tropes Town' - where we plunder the the most stereotypical tropes found in D&D in a good old fashioned puzzle dungeon crawl in 'The Crack'. We're encouraged to play the most 'tropey' PCs possible - the game is a lot of fun, and a real breath of fresh air as a break from the heavier roleplaying we also do.. My Swashbuckler One Eyed Jake wasn't supposed to survive for very long, but he's managed it so far... "Hahaaa, you 'ave not seen zees manoeuvre before!" (as he does the same thing over and over again :p - Wisdom 4 ;) )

As always, it depends on the game/situation. But I think they work quite well for the kind of thing I ran yesterday :) Yeah, if I went through the trouble, my players would find someway, somehow, without any intention of doing do, completely avoiding that encounter. Many a well planned battlemap set up has only been seen by this DM the night before the game...

  • 04:39 PM - Reynard quoted Kris in post The Day Has Come! It's An OGL! And A Store To Buy & Sell D&D 5E Products!
The 'artwork issue' seems to have been addressed (emphasis mine): (c) "User Generated Content" shall be defined as the copyrightable elements included in your Work, such as original characters, scenes, locations and events. User Generated content shall not include the illustrations and cartographic artwork included in your work. Per the terms of this Agreement, you expressly agree that your User Generated Content, once submitted to the Program will become Program IP and useable by other members of the Program as well as the Owner as described in this Agreement. And there's a bit more info at the bottom of THIS page. Excellent. That they addressed it so quickly makes me believe WotC is really behind this initiative as a way to develop solid, professional content from the community. EDIT: For anyone interested here is the relevent FAQ answer: What kinds of artwork and maps can I use in my DMs Guild titles? We updated the Community Content Agreement sections 2c and 8c to cla...

Ooh man, who actually holds the copywrites for those settings? Technically those guys have enough of a following on the eberon and darksun namez that they could do ogl releases without identifying D&D within its promotion. Same with dragon lance... Wizards of the Coast for all of them. If it came out for D&D I can almost guarantee you that it will be a copyright/trademark for Wizards. Sorry if this seems like a dumb question (or if it's already been asked) - but how does this affect artwork appearing in 3rd party DMGuild products. For example, lets say that a publisher commissions me to draw a map of a little village and a dungeon for their DMGuild adventure - are those maps then considered 'open content' ...and can therefore be used by other publishers too? I'm not saying that I'm against anything like that - I'd just be interested to know how that would work (as it might affect the wording of any future contracts I'm asked to sign this wouldn't fall within the usual '...

and set 2 contains 50 figures (in 10 different poses, and is the only set with any archers)... Anyhow, here's 12 (a mix from both sets) that I've finished: Oh those look nice, they look good for 5E goblins. 69625 10 archers in set 2 you say and that's the set with the facepalmer and ass-grabber as well... cha-ching. Thanks for the heads up. Also got 30 1/72 wargs to upgrade some of the squatting moria goblins I have to calvary.

I have to admit that I've put some serious hours into minecraft (PC version), and despite its rather basic graphics it can still be quite beautiful at times.Yeah, only part I loathe are the nut nosed villagers. Really like the A'therys Ascended texture pack. My only quibble is that it does go a bit into Real Is Brown territory.
