Final numbers are in the first post of the game thread. They are subject to approval from the judge. (Paging Aura or GlassEye, I honestly forget who was judge.) Remember, any treasure collected during the adventure should be deducted from the final amount. Message me if you have questions about how that works. Thanks for playing guys!

Hokay, everything is calculated up and ready for checkout. As promised, your encounter difficulty was scaled to what your level would have been had I not arrested leveling for the entire adventure. See page 1 for your rewards. GlassEye Could you check out and bless the calculations, please? End notes: 1. Samad will have to decide how to much artifact bow he wishes to buy. The full power bow is listed with the loot on the awards on page 1. 2. A bit of distinction: the bad guys were Nosferatu and didn't disintegrate to dust like Jeremiah did. He wasn't actually one of them--he was a Revenant. 3. The Haven was physically envisioned as being a vault from the Fallout series, including the signature Atrium. 4. There is going to be some updating the wiki for this one. Your characters are putting their mark on the world, which for higher level adventurers seems reasonable. I hope everyone had fun.

GlassEye jackslate45 jbear perrinmiller Scott DeWar OK, experience is posted and ready for GE to bless. Previous post contains the magical items you have earned and may spend on, plus the one you may pick out thanks to the Mayor's shaking the trees for you. Thank you, everyone, for playing. I hope you had fun, and I apologize for any rocky times along they way. This one was a learning experience, in terms of things that worked well on tabletop, but just didn't really convert well to pbp. I hope the fixed I put in helped tidy things up a bit for you.

Girri keeps a watchful eye on the corridor outside. The chill air is still and dark, and quiet. Mr. Aldershot creeks open the toy chest. Before he can take stock of its inventory, a voice startles him from the center of the room. "Those are our toys!" Mr. Aldershot snaps his neck in a quick back-and-forth as his attention is stolen by the child's familiar voice, and then again by the chest slamming shut of its own accord, from which the halfling barely escapes losing a finger. Each of you feel the air grow colder still, and while your breath freezes as you exhale, the familiar manifestations standing over the skeletons in the center of the room show no sign of having breathed for quite some time. Again with the delays. I know, I suck. Kobold Stew, GlassEye, CanadienneBacon, Yavathol, lowkey13

I think I'm ready to get this show back on the road. Again, my apologies for going MIA for a bit. Thanks for putting up with me, but we're going to have to take breaks here and there if this game is to keep going, and I hope it does. Thanks again, Kobold Stew, GlassEye, CanadienneBacon, Yavathol, lowkey13 The old key slides easily into the lock and, with a little jiggling, turns with an audible click. The door creaks open slowly. The room contains a bricked-up window flanked by two dusty, wood-framed beds sized for children. Closer to the door is a toy chest with windmills painted on its sides and a dollhouse that's a perfect replica of the dreary edifice in which you stand. These furnishings are draped in cobwebs. Lying in the middle of the floor are two small skeletons wearing tattered but familiar clothing. The smaller of the two cradles a stuffed doll that you also recognize.

Had a talk with my children yesterday evening. I believe I'm better served being fully present at home during the evening hours for the next while, and am therefore stopping this game. Rather than put it on hold, I think the smarter move is to admit we've lost steam and put it to bed permanently. I'm sorry for that, but I think all or most of you are likely to agree that it's the right move given the totality of the circumstances! Yavathol lowkey13 GlassEye Kobold Stew industrygothica

...ack (assuming still possible). A couple of things I want to check first: Shayuri - Sounds like a choice between remain outside and Discern Realities, or return inside the hall and Casting MM. As you note, MM might not be the most powerful spell. But then the battle with the demon looks like it is going down to the wire. A few extra wounds may be the difference between ending it now or having to go another round. Trogdor1992 - A couple of questions. First off, you need to make a DD Roll+DEX vs the fire damage from the Imp which stole your sword. Is this the 7 result in the IC thread? If so, roll damage (1d6 ignore armour). Then, your Defend move. Looks like the 11 result from the OOC thread. And is Throk Defending Filip from Demon's claws or the Imp's fire? The former threat may or may not occur (depending on how this round plays out) the latter will. Insight - do you mean Volley vs "the demons" (ie the Imps), or "the demon" (ie the hulking Demon of Spiky Bones)? GlassEye - Wow. That was some damage dice rolling. thotd

.... . . Cartography: Jared Blando Google Drawing map Plooploopeen's warrior kuo-toa rushed forward and chomped down on the enemy warrior, dealing 4 points of damage and 2 points of critical damage. The bite hit true and was savage; blood sprayed everywhere, coating Brinn and crab-Raza with ichor. Kamael chose his moment with care. Peeking 'round the corner of the reed hut, the sorcerer unleashed powerful arcane magic. Two chromatic orbs slammed into the enemy warrior kuo-toa, dealing 32 points of damage, and felling it immediately I neglected to have Plooploopeen's warrior kuo toa take a turn last round, so I've had him do it here. He'll go again on his turn on initiative this round (Round 2). A grappled creature can't move and has Speed 0. I don't see anything that grants advantage on attacks against a grappled creature. If you think I missed that, pipe up. Kind of moot now with the Frogman dead, but still a point worth verifying for the future. Raza's turn, GlassEye. Everyone creeps to a more preferred position, ready and waiting. The air grows thick, and the quintet's song of nervously metered breaths draws on like a tragic ballad, awaiting a crescendo that never seems to appear. Somewhere in the distance, from a far away place either real or imagined, a hollow laughter echos in your mind. GlassEye, CanadienneBacon, Kobold Stew, Yavathol, lowkey13-- the floor is open; any of you can act first.

There is quite a little group of halflings and a couple of humans all milling around outside. They could be useful. If you want to try and rally a relief force, it would be some sort of CHA move I think. Just a thought. I want to help Filip. So... damage taken by Jack: [roll0] EDIT: Ouch! Also, I'm a little uncertain. I feel like it is time for Jack to act but I also feel like you might be prompting me to Hack and Slash. Both? Headed over to re-read and see where we are IC since I've been away a bit for the past day or so. Yes. I think that I was sort of unconsciously. I have re-read the Defend action again. The last line I think is the key. When you defend you give up on making attacks to keep someone or something safe. The up side is that you get to control the threat in a way Hack and Slash doesn't allow. So, on that note - GlassEye, if you want to Defend, you can still use your allies skills to Take +1 forward on the roll. If you choose to Deal Damage, you can use their skills to add to the damage. If you choose to re-direct the damage to yourself, you can spend one skill point to add +1 Armour. Trogdor1992 - What do you have in mind? Defend? Hack and Slash? Aide Warris? Or something else? thotd

...ping out and scurrying around the totem, rather like ants whose nest had been disturbed. They appeared to be completely distracted. Except the enemy warrior kuo-toa. He fixed Kamael's reed hut with an intent-filled stare. Skirting crab-Raza but otherwise ignoring her, the enemy warrior kuo-toa gave her a wide berth and advanced toward the reed hut. Just when it seemed he would continue on toward the hut (Kamael's hiding place), however, he stopped and craned his neck and spotted several of you. Quick as a whip, the warrior cast a spell. Enemy warrior kuo-toa: Move to U15 (via P16 >> Q16 >> R16 >> S16 >> T16), cast a spell requiring Brinn ( lowkey13 ), Kago ( industrygothica, I will roll for you if no roll is supplied due to the scout trip), and the ally warrior kuo-toa to make a Charisma saving throw DC 12. Those who fail the Charisma saving throw suffer -2 to any attack rolls or saving throws for the next minute. Bane Google Drawing Map update. Raza's turn, GlassEye.

Several members used crab-Raza's shell for buoyancy. The six kuo-toa and Plooploopeen's lightning priest hung back at the rear of the formation, as did Ce'rek, who proved capable of treading water on his own. The goblin hissed and spit, however, unhappy at being wet, and unreasonably nervous at his new surroundings. Solace closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and stilled herself. Shuffling sounds could be heard in the dark, as could slapping noises. These sounds came from relatively close at hand, somewhere to the south. The air was rank with the odor of fetid entrails. Six kuo-toa work at the altar of the Deep Father, cleaning and arranging offerings. A kuo-toa lightning priest is there, too, but hangs back a bit on the far side of the altar. Although you can't see anything, there are additional sounds coming from the south, perhaps 90 or 100 feet away, give or take. It's pitch black, so it's hard to tell. A note...

Absolutely, GlassEye, no roll required if you have a swim speed. And I'll just use the raw 16 you rolled (for a the unneeded Concentration check) for Ce'rek's Athletics check, which means three of five characters passed the Athletics check to beat the undertow in the lake. The group swam past the sucking undertow, narrowly avoiding losing first Solace then Kamael to the water's icy current. Several of the kuo-toa, aided by the able-bodied crab-Raza, grasp the two struggling aasimar, fishing them out of the current. Eventually, the group makes it way up a gradual underwater incline. The water is inky black, and there is no light, but this is of little recourse to a group well-versed in traversing the depths of the Underdark. You can see, and eventually make out stout pillars of gray woodlike beams that extend from the water's surface down to a mud-laden rocky underwater shelf. The wharves. The lead kuo-toa warrior turns to eye the group and, with a raised webbed hand to its fishy lips, bids you hol...

It's an artifact of cutting and pasting from a word processor to forum software. Some bit of invisible document markup gets translated into a color tag (in this case [color=#000000]). Arafel sighs softly. "We have news, but it's not good news. Your reinforcements were destroyed, by treachery, by those they thought were allies. We will render what aid we can, but it may be wise to consider escape. A town can be rebuilt. Lives cannot be." "News south is in short supply. How are the lands round here holding out? And what of the lands farther north?" "We will not abandon Halfpoint yet. For the moment we are safer here," responds Filip. "Most of the outlying farms have been abandoned and the families brought to Halfpoint. The North and the West have been the most severely affected. They burnt a couple of farmsteads two days ago. The gnolls have not pressed from the south so far. As for elsewhere, we have heard little. Last we heard of the towns to the west, nothing unusual. To the north, beyond the Crawley hills we have heard nothing. Filip outlines their situation. Halfpoint is a town of some 1000 souls. They have mustered around 200 who can fight. Half of them a...

This is when the Great Hiccup occurred. We lost several pages of play - this post exists to attempt to fill in the blanks as much as possible. Death Otter performed her sweep of the van: While the others are planning for the meet Otter is combing the Matrix for information. Not that her teammates could tell: She doesn't need to use a commlink to work with AR. At the most she might seem somewhat distracted. First up was clearing the van for any shady silent devices. Otter's talent for hijacking subway trains is useful, sure, but she knows that this is what she's really paid for - Matrix overwatch. All it takes is one slippery bug following a runner home and that's it - lights out, glittergirl. Sometimes she hopes to find something. At least then she can feel secure when whatever's tagged along has been bricked. This time she doesn't find anything and she's got to hope it's because there's nothing to find. Next she checks on the search she's been running since the crew's exit from t...

Thank you, I have sadly lost my Bonds though :( NP. Now's the time to think of some new ones. It should be a bit easier now that you have seen the system and the other characters at work So, End of Session. Half-Jack didn't act within his alignment and I think all his bonds are still at a place where they could be better fulfilled. No marking of XP there. As for the questions, I would answer 'YES' to all three though my interpretation may not be exactly as intended. I can supply detail if you'd like. Yes please. Changing the subject, I don't have a record of the Troll Fire Charm (though I am thankful you had a copy of Half-Jack's sheet). Ah. Yes. Good point. Hang on a sec ... Ok. Yes, got it. A small chuck of charcoal is bound into the centre of the charm. In his other hand, he holds the wicked shard of bloody flint. Troll Charm (fire) Summon elemental power. Expose the charm into fire. I think this is great work but I'm going to be brutally honest here. I think we have more than enough naturey, travel, hunter goddesses. I would rather see this as an expansion to Ruvalra or one of the other Tritower goddesses. A special order within the worship of one of those goddesses. I also have a small issue with the Thorn name. We have an evil elven philosophy/practice called 'the Flower and the Thorn' and I think something so similarly named would cause confusion. The more I researched last night, looking for the right fit for Doriandra, the more I started to think just the items you posted above. That perhaps an organization within her followers named The Silver Rose might be the way to go. Changing the tattoo to a mark on their person or gear (for an archer, as Doriandra is currently designed, her glove would be a good place to put one, fluff style) would work better. This would also eliminate the structure that involved the Thorn level. Or perhaps even an Order of the Rose (alt...

Any suggestions on how to get a roto-drone with an assault rifle through the crowd and security we'll have to pass through at the subway station? 'Cause I haven't a clue. Brazening it out seems a particularly reckless course of action. I'm not keen on abandoning a choice piece of gear. The only other option I can think of atm is to pry open the doors on the opposite side and disappear into the subway tunnels and surface somewhere else. Could you maybe fly the drone out the back door by itself? No need for you to tag along with it, as far as I can tell. We already know the doors can open, because people moved between the cars. Edit: Took too long to post and was beaten to the punch!

Raza would like to go to the surface but she isn't in any hurry to do so until she processes the religious 'revelations' she's received in the Underdark. While she works through that, Raza is willing to accompany the others on their personal missions. I think we all misunderstood Shuushar's desire (lack thereof?) to return to the kuo-toan city and Raza is interested in knowing what exactly he wants to do. Sounds good. Brinn doesn't have a great relationship with Shuushar (Brinn already didn't trust him, both from natural inclination and a failed perception check - and this, uh, misunderstanding with the guards doesn't help) so you and Kamael should probably take point on interacting with him. :)

...everyone is very considerate of giving everyone else a say and allowing them to role play, which is great but possibly makes it harder to make group decisions? This tends to be a thing on PbP. To some extent, the level of "make-nice" varies in contrast to the level of aggression depending on what type of game and what type of playstyle preference the players have. I've played in a PbP game where the dominant playstyle revolved around powergaming and strategery. It was not a game I enjoyed, but then again we never had an issue with decision making. As for decisions, as player or character I don't feel like I've had any say in any that have been made. This is a comment that concerns me. I want each of you to feel a full partner in decision making. That's a different animal than the group doing what I want, however. Things won't always go the way I prefer, but at a minimum everyone should feel comfortable voicing their input and know they've been heard.

Pace: I think the introduction of a new player/character goes better with fewer participants. The goblin will be less defensive if he's confronted with fewer new faces/voices making demands and asking questions so I'm perfectly fine with Solace being the party face in this situation. While I could post Raza collecting gear and getting ready to travel, I haven't yet to avoid detracting from the more important scene. Yes, I hadn't consciously thought about it like that but felt it would be best to wait on posting ic until solace had finished talking to ce'rek. As for decisions, as player or character I don't feel like I've had any say in any that have been made. Sorry to hear that GE, so what would you suggest we do once Ce'rek joins up?

We haven't done it that way in the past but I am in favor of it. If a couple of other judges weigh in we could settle it.sure, let him do it

GlassEye, Drone: do the Take Cover & Take Aim actions count to negate recoil? The way recoil works is that it grows by 1 for every bullet you fire and it accumulates over turns. Simply spending a pass not shooting (as it has just done) will totally reset recoil. The Roto-Drone will be back to slaughtering meatsacks on its next pass. Mosier, it's Herald's turn. Herald is on the floor but otherwise out in the open. Balaclava has to reload soon but Lunchmeat will be back on the attack any moment now. Just as a reminder, the suppressing fire will last until balaclava's next pass, so if the fire spirit were to manifest right next to Herald it would immediately get tagged by gunfire. But it can use its movement in astral space before manifesting as a complex action. So you could have it manifest this pass, say, right behind balaclava and Lunchmeat. Rolling into cover with Herald's other simple action is highly recommended.

industrygothica How are you? Haven't seen you around much lately. I know you've moved recently and this past weekend was a religious holiday weekend which may (or may not) have kept you busy. I thought I'd check in, see how you are doing. I'm all good. Thanks for asking. I just went back to work and things have been super hectic. I'll try to get caught up here in the next day or so. Sorry to keep you waiting. -IG

This is spot-on. I originally wanted an infiltration/local area knowledge specialist who used drones to scout and in combat when things got hairy. Skill points were in high demand so the non-rigger aspects got toned down to the point of near non-existence. There might be some holdovers in skills that I've missed. I still have to implement your advice and repost so I wouldn't do a detailed check just yet. What is your opinion of the sniper rifle vs automatic on the drone? The assault rifle is going to be the more versatile option. But you could always do both, swapping guns out depending on the job. This would require purchasing an additional autosoft for one of the guns (I describe autosofts and their errata'd cost in this post). On that note, you could also purchase a higher level autosoft for the primary weapon. It isn't terribly expensive and it'll mean the drone is more competent at defending in autonomous mode when you're busy doing something else.

CB, I don't believe you took Raza's movement (post #617) into account when you updated the map. Thanks for this, and sorry I missed it the first go around. I remember you saying Raza wanted to approach the kuo-toa. I intended to move Raza on the master map, but neglected to follow through. You still want J11?

"You know the way?" He doesn't clarify the way where but he clearly expects the answer is 'yes'. "Of course I know the way," Mr Aldershot nods. "Or I know where the way should be. Follow me." The Halfling squats down and a squirrel runs out of his sleeve, into the forest and up a tree. It does not seem bothered by the apparent change of forest, and scampers off into the moss growing on the branch. Perhaps it will have an adventure, the halfling thinks. He presses his small walking stick into the soft loam to help him stand. The sound of a brook nearby, flowing gently, is interrupted by the squack of a raven in an unseen tree. "You're a curious fellow," the halfling says, assuming the larger man will follow him. "And this forest is strange and possibly dangerous. We must be careful." Mr. Aldershot does not offer much conversation. They follow the flow of the brook until it joins a larger stream. He follows the flow of water, confident that it will lead to civilization eventually. Just so you know, I'm not singling Brinn out on purpose. He just happened to be closest and Kago is around the bend. No worries! This is an RP issue- simply put, from an objective standpoint, I think Raza's approach may be right, it's just that Brinn can't agree to it. Seeing that he already has the shame in failing to die and getting captured instead by the drow, the chances of him agreeing to be bound for any reason are approximately less than 0. ;)

I feel making an enemy of the kuo toa while we have an enemy behind us would be a foolish action. I'm willing to take a chance with the kuo toa. Heh. Well, this will be interesting. Brinn would accompany the kuo toa, but he won't be bound. He can't even spell pragmatic.
