The news about a new Blade movie is potentially great, provided that it keeps a more mature approach (as per Wesley Snipes portrayal) and doesnt get a Disney makeover. Mahersala Ali is a great actor and Blade helps to expand the MCU Supernatural mythos. a bit of a bummer that theyve already spoiled Lady Thor, that could have been a nice surprise for the new movie

I think the difference with this movie is that it was actually intended to be cheap and the actors know its never going to be a great film, but they get in and have fun with it anyway. (NB The asylum is an independent...

Curious, my fantasy world has a race of muppets. I haven't gotten to actually stat them up. but what I have so far is they are medium critters, with 30' speed, bonus to charisma and dexterity, penalty to constitution, and they have the ability to turn a critical hit into a normal hit, but they lose a limb until it can be reattached. In extreme cases they can survive as only a head.

On the semantics side, Spanish needs more information to convey a message than English does. For example if you have to translate "I'm bad at studying and I could use your help." Which of the six possible constructs -each one with different meaning- should you use? You need a lot of contextual information to decide. That is more work than many translators bother to do. Some would only take the...

I have another theory, Spanish translations require more work, some other languages don't. For other languages you can easily take the plain text in English and just straight translate it without paying too much attention to context. So the result is either a trainwreck that mixes/ignores gender/closeness/person or is more expensive. Many times this is done in Spain for videogames by people who...

I remember Shayuri as being one of the best, most reliable posters on ENWorld, so I'd say something has definitely happened. But it may be as simple as a computer problem.

RPGs live and die by their setting. Only D&D can afford to go "setting agnostic" (and that is barely) by virtue of its size and prominence. Without a strong setting a random RPG is but a set of bland mechanics, and if it's fantasy themed, it is just a heartbreaker. For identity purposes World of Darkness is Storyteller, Freedom City is M&M, and Golarion is Pathfinder. Yes, other settings can work...

Teodor advances closer to the door, but the press of his companions leaves him little room to act. For now he waits, weapons ready, for an opening. Shendra sinks to the ground, her knees failing her. The cool haughtiness the others have come to expect from her had softened noticeably once they had gotten caught up in the rough in tumble of exploring the lower level. But this, this was all wrong....

Ideally I would have ability modifiers not affecting skill bonus by themselves, I would rather high ability bonuses helped you have higher proficiency levels faster. Edit: An on topic, this isn't necessarily a judgment of value, what I got from the playtest was that PF2 somehow managed to have the bad parts of 4e without the good stuff. I'm still on the fence on whether to give it some of my...

I think it is a glaring omission because: a) The witch is important in Golarion (the most common non-divine caster) and b) the witch is an obvious primary occult caster, by not having it the bard was square pegged into the tradition and as a primary caster at the expense of other stuff. (IMO primal or arcane fitted better for the bard)

GlassEye jackslate45 jbear perrinmiller Scott DeWar OK, experience is posted and ready for GE to bless. Previous post contains the magical items you have earned and may spend on, plus the one you may pick out thanks to the Mayor's shaking the trees for you. Thank you, everyone, for playing. I hope you had fun, and I apologize for any rocky times along they way. This one was a learning experience, in terms of things that worked well on tabletop, but just didn't really convert well to pbp. I hope the fixed I put in helped tidy things up a bit for you.

If not, making up a new course of action is quite alright. Once we get past the stitch point things should flow smoother.

I put the details in an SBLOCK in my reply for him, which means it's gone bye-bye. It will have to be another major post I'm going to have to rebuild. Once I redo the results of the chekc I will post them here (not in an SBLOCK). While the information will be what Shrough knows, I don't want to risk losing it again. I will keep a copy of it on my PC.

kinem, Scotley, do either of you have the In Character thread set to send you notifications? Trogdor1992 does but he likely doesn't get notifications for his own posts. Plus, the notification system doesn't send an email for every post. It sends one and then doesn't send it again until the forum member visits the site (at least, that's the way it works for me). Scott DeWar told me he doesn't get already deleted his notifications, and I don't think its fair for me to ask 'Shades' to help since he won't be playing Borya anymore. (Someone told me that they don't get notifications. That might have been 'Shades'.) I'm also not sure about JustinCase. He hasn't posted in a while, but his work schedule can be hectic (if I'm remembering correctly). He is often away from home working. Until he posts again, I'm going to take control of his PC for both Bard's Gate (and his PC for the Crow God game).

JustinCase, kinem, Scott DeWar, Scotley, Shades of Eternity, Trogdor1992 Before I even try to rebuild this game, I need to know if you guys are 100% interested in continuing. If not, the game will be over, and those still interested in their PCs will have the option to move back a level to 6th* and join my Bluffside game over on The Piazza. Bard's Gate and Bluffside are quite close to each other (relatively) on the same continent, so it wouldn't be difficult to integrate your PCs into that campaign. Right now, that game only has two players. It's needs more. I know it's a lot to ask players to sign up on a different forum, but I want to give the option for those that really like their characters and want to keep using them.If none of you are interested in that game, it's no big deal. I just wanted to ask. :p Of course, I haven't run this by my two players over there yet, but I know one of them is eager for the game to get more players. *One PC is 5th the other just went to 6th.

[AC 16, ff 15, t 11] [roll0] [roll1] Grok's Sheet I just noticed I have Grok's damage bonus figured wrong for his longspear. Two-hand weapon, so should be 1.5 X +3 or +4, so this attack does 12 damage. Thanks. OOC: Scott DeWar, Glad you enjoyed it.

...s over in a few brief seconds, and though Rosalia was stealthy and far away, the perceptive creature spotted her in the vegetation and charged her location. When it got there, however, it noted the other heroes coming up behind her. Enraged, it through itself at them, targeting Scrag first. Now that it is up close, you can see that you are battling a black dragon, with its fearsome skeletal face and scaled body. Though you never have battled one before, it is obvious that something is wrong with this one. It wheezes as it fights, and its body seems corroded in some places and mutated in others. One of its eyes is clouded over, while the other one reveals a combination of pain and madness. The dragon should be dead, but is very much alive. It screams a challenge and bites at Scrag, taking a chomp at the troll's body. Dragon vs Scrag [roll0] Damage [roll1] Grok attacks in return, but his longspear just happens to glance off the beast's armored shoulder. OOC: Everyone else up! I had my day like that last June. Almost 18 months ago. My life has been craptastic since then and only getting worse. I do not know this reference. Lo Ciento. Godwin's Law, says as any online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches 1. Meaning the longer it goes the higher the chance someone mentions nazis or Hitler. But I literally Godwined the thread by saying the name Godwin. I mixed metaphors, fallacies, and memes to make a funny. So far only one person found it all that funny.

Quinn waits for Aureus' question to get answered before he speaks his mind, mainly to mention the demise of Odilos so as to calm the wererats. Aureus stands in between Quinn and Phar, her face quizzical. As they leave the boats Phar has a quiet word with the guard staying at the boat about the scrags and thus finds himself at the very back of the group when they meet Hornauer. He readies a spell as threats are exchanged, but leaves his bow in its quiver. He quickly finds himself lacking too much knowledge to take an active part in the discussion. He fumes silently at the lack of trust shown by these men in not giving him a full briefing. There would be hard words latter of that he would make sure. He sighs as the men discuss the 800 years, these short lived races have so little understanding of the world.. Phar doesn't have to think very long to remember the name, Ash Witch. Her legend was so infamous that it became known not only in the human lands of the Eastern Shores nort of here, but a...

Caerth clears his throat, then starts, uncertainly. "We-- I do not wish to fight," the half-orc says, dropping his spear and crossing his arms in what he hopes is a sign of non-hostility. "We have come to talk to you, concerning another wererat called Odilos. Do you know of him?" The druid hopes Hornauer is ready to talk and not fight. He hasn't quite figured out yet what he'll do if things do escalate, or if he should tell the lycanthrope that the guards intend to capture him. "we" , says Quinn encouragingly to the big druid. He keeps his hands empty and balled at just above his hips .. .. .. and his chain. He keeps a wary eye on the dire rats. There is a long silence before the dire rats move forward, slowly and cautiously. The big rats do not attack but they come down the tower's outer starway and move to create a crescent moon shape around the group. Dozens of other smaller rats join them, coming out of hidden recesses and crevasses. Hornauer steps not out of the doorway, but out ...

  • 07:29 AM - Knightfall quoted Scott DeWar in post Knightfall's Aerie of the Crow God [Kulan] (IC)
"I will do my utmost best as I do prefer my guts to stay inside me." says Quinn to Quinton. At the guard's request, Quinn takes the other oar. Quinten chortles with a grin. Caerth merely nods at his mentor as they say goodbye. The half-orc knows that Aeron feels differently about the wererat, and Caerth cannot persuade him. Likewise, he knows that asking for the elder druid’s reasons is pointless, because obviously he needs to experience it firsthand, according to Aeron. Caerth realizes that in his mind, he is starting to move away from being Aeron’s student. This brings a sudden feeling of regret, sadness, and anger. Before the anger, summoned so easily due to his orcish heritage, can take over his mind and actions, Caerth turns awkwardly and moves to the boats. Once aboard, he focuses on the others, not really listening but trying to distract himself from his inner turmoil. Phar takes his place in the boat. He has little to say as his mind is already on the coming encounter wi...

  • 08:13 AM - Knightfall quoted Scott DeWar in post Knightfall's Aerie of the Crow God [Kulan] (IC)
Phar smiles at his companion. It is good to see you smile my friend. We feared for you. Phar takes a moment to share what news he has. He speaks diplomatically, not wanted to distress his still viably ill friend with the sadder parts of his tale. "Thanks Phar, and it sounds like you have to go back to that rock without me," Lorien sighs. "You can't wait. Aeron tells me that it will take a day to get to the fort, and I'll like be there for a few days." "We not wait," Aureus replies. "But, we see you when we return here. Right?" "I hope so," Lorien says with a smile. He pauses to think for a moment. "Personally, I don't think Hornauer had anything to do with Lord Ebal's death. You should try to talk to him without Sir Ghal around, if possible." Lorien lays back, obviously tired. "You rest, elf-friend," Aureus says. He nods. "Good luck." You all say your goodbyes before heading back down into the commonroom where Rosie has filled a pack with good food. Caerth notices that Aeron is ...

  • 08:13 PM - Morrus quoted Scott DeWar in post Super Hero TV shows
hey all, I just finished season 2 of Luke cage and they have the picture of the actor for Luke's father with the note of "in memorium of ..." So, I look on IMDB and it says he passed in February of 2018. I wonder if that means the end of the show? It ends rather final. You will have to watch the show to see what I mean. Both it and Iron Fist were cancelled last month.
