I think you are right. I forgot about the monsters, and they have said that they would follow the Ravnica path if if was successful. The new AL adventure will likely be sold at the DMsG, as you say It just struck me, though, that this is part of their strategy: they freed up Eberron on the DMsGuild in July 2018, release a big splashy book in bookstores in November 2019, and point to the extra resources that the community built up on the DMsGuild over 17 months, especially from Baker himself. That's an advantage Ravnica did not have, and makes me wonder if we might see another similar playtest setting soon...

Based on the following information, I wonder if the new book will be an adventure set in Eberron, with the Wayfinder’s Guide providing the world lore and rules on races and classes -I’d love that, preventing duplication and giving us an Eberron adventure: ”We still need more Dungeon Masters! I’d like to formally invite you to become part of our stable of D&D Adventurers League Dungeon Masters for Gamehole Con VII, October 31st – November 3rd, 2019, Madison, Wisconsin... If you’re interested in volunteering, please fill out the survey here to join our mailing list: http://eepurl.com/gkv3Ar This year, Gamehole Con will feature the following premiere D&D Adventurers League content: • A Liar’s Night Masquerade (Halloween) EPIC written by Elisa Teague and Lysa Chen. • The premiere of a new AL campaign set in Eberron, including its first Epic event. ... http://eepurl.com/gkv3Ar” (emphasis added) Possibly, though I would lean towards "no." There is too much crunch such as monster stat blocks, still nee...

James Wyatt, who worked on the original Eberron campaign setting, is also working on the Eberron 5e hardcover, just like Keith Baker, which-to the setting fans, as myself- is amazing. Source: https://twitter.com/aquelajames/status/1135365717929353217?s=21 Given that they have told us literally nothing about the book, it seems to be shaping up well... Also, given Wyatt's involvement and Nate Stewart's statements in the recent past that a D&D themed Magic set is definitely gooing to happen after the success of D&D Ravnica...who wants to lay odds on an Eberronian "The Last War" Magic card set?

  • 08:47 PM - gyor quoted nicolas.carrillos in post New D&D Adventure Reveal On 17th May at 'The Descent'
I hope your guess is correct. I love Eberron (the setting I always DM in), and my fingers are crossed for an Eberron hardcover. Will all four products be revealed today? Who says the Essentials Box Set is a beginner box? It could be anything. Starter Sets are labeled as such. What does WotC concider Essential? The PHB at least? The title is just too vague. As for Baldur's Gate: Avernus I think it's going to be a hard pass on that one too. I have an excellent Swordcoast Adventure already, the two part Waterdeep, a more interesting city then Baldur's Gate, which is one of the least interesting cities on the Swordcoast, which is one of the least interesting regions in FR, a great, but wasted setting. I have no idea why I would want this adventure. I pledged for the Arcana of the Ancients, Odyssey of the Dragonlords, and a Korea inspired D&D 5e Setting all of which appear to being showing more vision and imagination then WotC,while using the 5e system. Oh and I bought the 5e ...

No. At least one reveal is being saved for Sunday night. Not sure when each will be announced outside of the Adventure, which will be announced tonight at the opening ceremonies.

Look at what Nathan (from D&D’s fireside chat) posted today! Eberron book in the background. Spoilers for what is to come the 23rd? I sure hope so! Notice that it is on a computer screen? Makes me think these new releases will be D&D Beyond exclusives. Also, DDB adds all the UA content after it releases, and the next UA is delayed to the same date of July 23.

I really really hope Eberron is among the settings to be supported soon Agreed. I'm not sure how to read the various comments, though. There was some buzz around Eberron, a few months back. But, the comments about doing it like Ravenloft and "hard core fans" being happy don't sound much like Eberron, to me. I don't see Eberron as being a "go for a visit" setting and, while it has some pretty loyal fans, I'm not sure I'd have used the words "hard core". My money is on Planescape, with Dark Sun being a possibility. If we're getting two, I'd be happy to see either of the above as the first, with Eberron for the second. Even though I don't make huge use of things like the Kalashtar, Dreaming Dark, etc. I want psionics included in the setting update. Since Mearls has said that psionics will come with Dark Sun, I'm hoping it's Dark Sun + Eberron. Not holding my breath, though.

I really really hope Eberron is among the settings to be supported soon I think Planescape is more likely - more directly compatible with and insertable in regular Realms adventures. Note how nothing so far points towards a publication that cannot be used with all existing content. WotC has indeed learnt TSR's lesson. I think they will do everything they can to support legacy gamer interests short of actually splitting the player base.

  • 07:13 PM - guachi quoted nicolas.carrillos in post Why does 5E SUCK?
What I really dislike about 5e has to do with its lore rather than its rules, and is the fact that the only setting actually supported is the Forgotten Realms I hate short rests and the ease of getting back all HP on a long rest. Those are the rules I hate the most. But now that you mention it, it's the lore and the FR focus I really hate the most. They don't really do it for me and I'v largely kept my wallet closed except for Volo's and that's because I had store credit my my FLGS and it was going out of business and I had to buy something.

  • 11:09 PM - Morrus quoted nicolas.carrillos in post Another 10 Mordenkainen's Tome Questions!
Is here any mention of Eberron in the book? I haven't seen Eberron mentioned in the text, but bear in mind that I just got it and haven't read every word, so I can't promise that there is no mention of it. There's no big header that I can see with the word "Eberron" in it. 3/10! 7 to go!

the Thief’s book (https://www.amazon.com/Dungeons-Dragons-Catch-Thief-Endless/dp/1536200662/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1522438335&sr=8-1&keywords=Matt+forbeck+thief) description says: “Welcome to the Forgotten Realms Endless Quest books, where you don’t just read a fantastic tale. You become the hero — and choose your own fate. When you tried to pick the pocket of a civilar in the night-shrouded streets of Waterdeep, you never thought she’d catch you — and you never dreamed she’d force you into her service. Now you must find the baby griffon stolen by the beholder Xanathar, leader of the city’s powerful Thieves’ Guild. And if you should fail . . . you can count on spending the rest of your life behind bars, rogue” I was 90% certain we would get a planar adventure this year, but this changes everything. Good find.

  • 08:19 PM - Remathilis quoted nicolas.carrillos in post Marathon, Broadway, and Catacomb: Upcoming D&D Products?
I have a guess: one of the next products may take place in Waterdeep and be a urban adventure -one still missing in 5e, and Broadway reminds of New York. The why? Because the D&D Endless Quest books -choose your adventure-style- coming later this year seem to follow these adventures: fighter book - Out of the Abyss; wizard - Storm King’s Thunder; Cleric - Tomb of Annihilation; and the Thief’s book (https://www.amazon.com/Dungeons-Dragons-Catch-Thief-Endless/dp/1536200662/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1522438335&sr=8-1&keywords=Matt+forbeck+thief) description says: “Welcome to the Forgotten Realms Endless Quest books, where you don’t just read a fantastic tale. • 01:42 AM - Onslaught quoted nicolas.carrillos in post Tomb of Annihilation in Eberron
Good question. For a while I was just going to drop it, but then I thought of a way to bring it into the storyline without the FR slant. Xen'drik already has frost giants, so no worries about where THEY came from. I'm thinking Mezro was actually a giant city repurposed by the Chultan settlers. And specifically, it was a Frost Giant city with some working remnants of giant technology in it. That's the common thread to Artus, Ras Nsi, and Mezro itself; people discovered somethinig inside the city worth fighting over. So the cataclysm that removed Mezro from the map is a bit like the one that ended the Giant-Quori war--giant tech activated in desperation--just on a much smaller scale. So here's Artus mooning around, looking for clues, trying to figure out if Mezro is dead or just gone; he's not a member of the Harpers, not of any faction, just a Brelish scholar/explorer who stumbled into a horrible mess. I like this idea a lot! Maybe he's a member of the Morgrave University, that makes Artus Cimber an I...
