    There are probably ways to break/remove the password protection on START and SPELLCASTING pages, but I don't know how to do that, and I do not have the passwords. Somebody mentioned how to make the TABLES page visible, but you will have to search these forums for that, and it is really just a bunch of tables with no documentation attached. It would take some real excel expertise to add new...

    If I understand what you are after is, a simple way is to use the standard "GEMS, JEWELRY, ART OBJECTS" area but leave the value blank. You could add the wealth value in the description so that you can keep track of the value without tracking the wealth. Something like this: 105602 Ah.. that's a good idea. I'd prefer it if gems etc could contribute to my total (i.e. stored + carried) wealth but I don't think that's possible, so this is the next best option (so far!). Thanks!

    @calcu10n I did the same thing, checking a supported subclass vs the custom page subclass, and saw the same results. I think it is either something FA never put in for custom subclasses, or it is a bug in the beta. Either way, the only way I can think of to add that information is to use the Start pages Additional Details (below the Character Details box) and manually type it in. Information in the Additional Details box will be added to the end of the Character Details. Yeah it seems to be a bug in the beta, because it works in version 2.27 also for custom classes. Anyway, thanks again for your help!

The original creator went M.I.A. after receiving a WotC C&D order, and the team that took over has not been heard from for some time (we are still waiting for a non-beta version with the Xanathar material). WotC wants you to use D&DBeyond and is actively suppressing cool (and free) tools like this one. I refuse to use D&D Beyond for exactly this reason. Not to mention most of their stuff sucks and is way over priced.

    Each text may be limited to 255, but multiple texts can be strung together "text 1" & "text 2" & "text 3", and thereby bypassing the 255 limit. At least, that is what FA told me before he went M.I.A., and that solved a problem I was having. Ah I will have to try that.

However I am not going to pay again for material I already have. I get that Curse has to make their money also, but I don’t have to pay them.

I know that I have received a response by the new team once or twice, but it has been a while. I suppose they want to avoid the same letter. Its a shame that D&D Beyond isn't that great/requires an internet connection. I know that the WiFi at my local game shop isn't great. Plus I've found that pen & paper is just better sometimes.

    This generator does not support Unearthed Arcana material, period. The Artificer is a new Unearthed Arcana class, so it is not supported. If you can make the UA material work with the provided tools, have at it, but a new class will be tricky at best, and completely unworkable at worst. As always, in these cases, the paper and paper method still works just fine. Which is why I'm going to create a modular version of this application in Python. It'll allow me to simply make class modules that will be indexed at run-time rather. It'll ultimately be a more flexible version of this sheet. I'll even have an export function that will populate an XML or Excel sheet for editing. First step, though, reproduce this sheet in modules.

    Magic items will not automatically update stats they change just by listing them on Sheet 2. The appropriate changes will need to be made on the Start page, as well. Thanks for the response! Where do I change/add them on the start sheet? I tried putting them 'on' by typing "Gauntlets of Ogre Power" into the hands textbox in the equipment worn box (9). Whenever I add or remove text there, my strength doesn't get updated to 19 so I'm a little confused as to where I should be doing what exactly.

    Yes, it does. Look at the bottom of the screenshot you posted. See the Feat area? Enter a 3 there and your 3 new languages will be available. Is this a change by design? and if so, why? earlier versions didn't require this extra step. Just trying to follow the reasoning for changing this feat.

It would be really easy to miss them as I expect they won't be explicitly announced. The few times it was updated during the first few days, I've gotten an email notification about it. However, I also understand how much of a headache that would be!

    In Beta 7, when you choose Genasi the subraces are Earth, Fire, Water, and Elf Weapon Training. All of the disrupted subrace menus have been fixed in Beta 8. Edit: Manually typing the desired subrace will work. v2.28 Beta7 RC I used the Reset button on the Start page and Custom page before looking for errors. On the spellcasting page the Fighter Arcane Archer has Druidcraft selected, and while it can be changed manually, it is not reset when the Reset option is used. 100145 With 0 for experience, but no class selected yet, the cantip area is showing two empty slots. When I import a character from Beta6 with two cantrips, the first shows in the line above cantrip 1 and is greyed out, and the second cantrip is in slot #1. 100144 Everything else I have noticed so far has been reported already. This is a result of the changes made to the way racial cantrips are handled. The greyed outline is the space where racial cantrips are selected. Unfortunately, that differs from the import macro's ...

    First... apologies for the lengthy lapse in communication. I was laid off from my job a few weeks back and lacked motivation to work on anything that wasn't directly related to paying my mortgage. I'm back to work now and conveniently found my motivation again. v2.28 BETA 6 RC I created a Lightfoot Halfling Warlock (Hexblade) and there were a couple of issues that sprang out at me. 1. Though a Hexblade is profient with Medium Armor, a Shield and Martial Weapons, and though selecting Medium Armor (Chain Shirt and Half Plate were tested) and a Shield work as intended, selecting a Longsword was flagged as Not Profient. 2. A warlock gets 2 cantrips at 1st level, but the first slot dropdown selection is "Select..." and that counts as a selected cantrip. Fixed in Beta 7 Adjusted cantrip selection box again. This has been a constant source of struggle since I made extensive changes to the backend. I think it is fixed now. Giant Spider in the Wildshape page gives the wrong attack bonus for it's...

    In your guide you seem to be of the opinion that the feat Crossbow Expert is only for crossbow users. Errata has made it clear that, while it is true that the 1st and 3rd features of that feat require a crossbow, the second feature is applicable to any ranged attack, whether it is made with a crossbow, a short bow, a long bow, or even a ranged attack spell. While that is true, the feat still isn't worth taking on the whole if you're not a crossbow user.

    The Agonizing Blast invocation doesn't make any sense for a warlock to have unless they already knows the Eldritch Blast cantrip, so having that cantrip is a requirement before the invocation becomes available. The cantrip is actually a prerequisite to the invocation in the PH.

    I get that the XE version has features that are desireable, especially the custom feat option. However, I am personally loathe to use what I see as a hacked version, and until I see concrete evidence that the author and owner of this generator has blessed the XE version, I will not use it. It may be my loss, but I am willing to take that loss. If the XE version were not just a hacked version, but instead a new and competing generator, I think I would try it out, but it isn't. I hear ya. However neither of them have ForgedAnvil his blessing, so technically both are "hacked". AnotherCrappyDM said he is a co-writer of the original (and I believe him). The XE (now MTF) version also has a co-writer of the original, but he hasn't posted about it yet. I believe due to IRL reasons. In the end there is nothing to be gained by the writers. They are just Excel enthusiasts who like to do their own thing. :P

    The generator doesn't really do that for you. If you got some new +1 armor or a +1 weapon, for example, it will need to be added to the Start page as a base item and then change the bonus to the appropriate place, and also added to your inventory sheet (for weight cauculations). Other items will need to be added to the inventory sheet, and any stat changes will have to be manually changed, like is necessary for the Ioun Stone of Strength. A Ring of Protection would need to be added as armor (other), and add a +1 to all 6 saves, as well as adding it to your inventory. To do all of this with just one action would require using macros, and those are actively being avoided (for compatibility reasons, I believe). Also, if you loose your magic item (say a green slime eats your Ring of Protection, or perhaps you were at ground zero when a meteor swarm hit and your ioun stone was destroyed!), you will need to undo any changes made regarding that item, just as you did when you added it to your characte...

    True, but not for custom feats or custom classes (as opposed to sub-classes), which are the items being asked about. A custom sub-class still relies on the framework of a standard class. The pencil and paper character sheet works fine for those options. Well, for most people, that is. I use FAs tool because, in part, it looks so much better than the standard layout to me, but more relevant is that I have only one usable hand and using a pencil and eraser are difficult at best when you can't use your other hand to steady the paper. D&DBeyond is not a viable option because it requires a usable internet connection and the place I play does not offer that amenity. Custom feats are covered in the Xanathar Release version, custom classes however are not to my knowledge. While that's only half of what you're looking for, I'm afraid you might have a difficult time finding something closer with the forgedanvil sheet.

    Even the most recent non-beta version (v2.27) would not reliably import from any earlier version than about v2.10 (and maybe not even that far). To maintain import compatibility is not an easy task and when significant changes occur in the framework of the generator it is very likely previous versions will not correctly (or not at all) import. If ForgedAnvil did receive a C&D when ENWorld got theirs, he may not legally be able to associate with this channel directly. Or perhaps life has just gotten really crazy and he just doesn't have the time at the moment, as Wrightc214 seems to say. Either way, the generator is his property and hacking the password (no matter how easy that may or may not be) and releasing unauthorized versions is a disservice to FA's hard work. deleted.
